11/07/2026: Excellent service, the waiter was very friendly and attentive. We ordered four breakfasts of coffee with milk and chocolate bread, which were delicious and very reasonably priced. We highly recommend it. We will definitely be back.

19/08/2026: One of the best restaurants for this type of cuisine. Even a simple sandwich is made with great care (quality meat, homemade sauce). Furthermore, the customer service is superb; the chef is very kind and welcoming. The atmosphere of the small, hidden terrace is cozy, with vintage decorations and greenery adding to the charm of the place. A must-try!

27/08/2026: Visited twice with my daughter, including today. The coffee and hot chocolate were very good. The cakes were excellent—organic and homemade. And the staff were very pleasant. For the price, let's be honest: it's not the cheapest option, but you're paying for the quality. We didn't have the chance to try the food, but it looked delicious. I highly recommend it.

30/06/2026: Everything is homemade with quality ingredients, and you can taste the difference. I love going there whenever I'm in Bordeaux to enjoy a scone and tea for breakfast. It's also ideal for an afternoon snack; the pastries are delicious.

20/06/2025: Hello, I came on Sunday afternoon, June 15th, to buy two gifts at the store at 34 rue St. James. I'm writing to you because I'm very skeptical... and very jaded... When I went through the checkout, I clearly stated that I needed two gift packages for two birthdays. They showed me a nice pink and white package, which I paid for, but they had already charged me. Then, oh no, finally, if it's for two different little girls, Okay, let's separate the gifts. The first, a kind of transparent white envelope... the saleswoman apologizes, okay. The second is a mug in a square package. She takes out a brown envelope, puts the package inside—which is too big for the envelope—cuts off the top, and puts a sticker inside. I'm perplexed... I honestly allow myself to say to her: "Well, it's average, it's for a little girl's birthday, it doesn't look very birthday-like and the package...is a bit ugly, you know"...(without malice, with a little smile, tilting her head a little to the side and inviting her to think, that kind of attitude) At that, she, very offended, tells me that I'm mean, that it's not nice at all of me...that she's going to the extra trouble to make me this package and that she doesn't have to do it... (No kidding??? Should I have gone into raptures???) And insisting several times, without listening to me, that I don't want to give it like that, nor in front of other mothers. At one point, I got annoyed when the young lady retorted that, and I quote: "Generally, people come to us, buy a gift, then go to h**a to buy some gifts and make their own." At that point, her colleague arrived and took over, which I thought was great. But she decided to side with her without listening to me either. Tired, I asked for a refund. In the end, they gave me the lovely gift I'd originally given. I left with my children, with a very annoyed "Have a nice Sunday," which says it all... plus comments behind my back as I left... Very unpleasant. Frankly, I was furious. My message to the manager, and perhaps to these two people who didn't understand where they worked. It's a suggestion... You can do what you want with it: When you're a store like yours, with the name you want to forge, a strong and recognizable identity, based on sharp and stylish choices: YES, people expect to receive a gift package from your store, and in the image of your store. The mindset of your customers who take the trouble to come to your store, on a side street off the main roads, is this: I didn't buy a gift in a hurry somewhere else between two errands while buying milk and laundry detergent. I took the time for these little girls, to go to the right place, to look for gifts for them, personalized, with a beautiful package that I'll be happy to give them. Through this gift, we show that we didn't go to any ordinary store. And we pay a little more than elsewhere for that. Also: That we go to a local store, not a chain store. But above all, when we pay a premium price for an item that's "above the price" at your store, YES we expect to be listened to and well received with a well-packaged item. As for the young lady, it would be good to avoid the comments and go to the competitor's store if I'm there...and to be honest with myself. I came to your store to be received with care. There you go, I really wanted to explain to you the impact of such a sale. I took the time to write you this message. I'm giving it one star for this mishap. The store itself is worth 5 stars. But despite everything, after this experience, it gives: -message received 5 out of 5 - Upcoming birthday gifts: Go to Chez h**a, they have gift wrapping, 10 birthdays per year for 2 children - Best regards, And Happy Thursday.

20/08/2026: Initially, I was very happy with my experience. I often walked past this place, thinking it looked really nice, so I went in. My girlfriend and I were very satisfied because everything was really good. But when it came time to pay, they quickly told me the price while handing me the card reader. The amount shocked me quite a bit, but I thought maybe I'd misread the prices on the menu, so I paid. After checking, I realized I must have overpaid by at least €25. The bill was €53, not including the tip I left, for two cocktails and a plate of croquettes. In short, I'm very disappointed by how it ended, especially since I'm just a student and I can't really afford to pay that much for nothing.

The waiter was smiling and very friendly, the dishes and the quality of the ingredients were top-notch, and the setting (on the shaded terrace of Place du Maucaillou) was perfect. A great find at a very reasonable price, which I highly recommend!

26/07/2026: — An experience to avoid, Thursday, July 23, 9:30 p.m. Incomplete order, frosty reception, no respect for the customer. That's what awaits you at this McDonald's in Bordeaux-Lac. Several items were missing from my order. Faced with this easily corrected error, I was met with utter contempt by the management. Rather than acknowledging the mistake and resolving it politely, the managers present adopted a condescending and unpleasant attitude, as if reporting a problem were an offense. To top it all off: when I asked for their names to identify the people I was speaking to, they categorically refused to give them to me. This refusal speaks volumes about the seriousness of this establishment's management and its complete lack of responsibility towards customers. Customer service worthy of the name begins with transparency and respect, two concepts clearly foreign to the management team at this restaurant. If you're looking for even a modicum of consideration for your money and your time, I strongly recommend you go elsewhere.
