26/01/2026: We just had a quick coffee in this lovely, recently opened restaurant. It's bright, very clean, and nicely decorated. We were served with great kindness by a very dedicated staff in a work-integration program. We'll definitely be back to try the restaurant again. Just a suggestion: why not create a small area (perhaps near the entrance?) for a bar or snack bar on quieter days?

16/12/2025: Here lies my tale, very ancient and rancid, just as I would have written it on yellowed parchment. During my wanderings through the marches of Berry, where the Creuse River meanders like a gentle snake between meadows and woods, it happened that I, Sir Ludovic de Téléton, weary from riding and with a rumbling stomach, stopped at an inn called La Source, located in the village of Saint-Aigny, a peaceful and well-reputed place. There I sat at an oak table, and was served a dish of beef, sliced ​​so thinly and raw that it seemed like a crimson leaf placed on the plate; seasoned with precision, without excess or stinginess. And I said to myself: “Truly, this cook knows the art of feeding a nobleman without offending him.” “ I then summoned the servant and questioned him in the manner of the ancients: “Do you know, fellow, why you pour the wine on the right, and how one serves a lord without treachery?” He answered without hesitation, with knowledge and composure, proving that he was not a novice peasant but a learned and loyal clerk. Greatly satisfied by this, I took some hard cash from my purse and gave it to him as a gift, saying, “Take it, and know that good service is worth more than many words.” Thus, I regained my strength and courage in that place, blessing the earth, the people, and the table, before resuming my journey, swearing by my faith that whoever passes through these lands would do wisely to break their bread and fast here.”

19/09/2025: Great tea room. I never miss a snack break there when I'm in La Châtre. The cakes are excellent, the shop is full of good products, and the welcome is top-notch. I recommend it.

16/02/2026: First experience (April 18, 2025): No complaints, a very pleasant time, attentive waiter. Very good first impression. Second experience (Valentine's Day): Unfortunately, the worst Valentine's Day we've ever had at a restaurant. We had a reservation for 8 pm, but arrived early at 7:40 pm. We were seated immediately, but the table was clearly not ours (the name "Jardin" was already on the table), which immediately created an awkward situation, especially since we had called to reserve on Tuesday and confirmed on Wednesday. - 1-hour wait: no drinks, not even a carafe of water. - 1.5-hour wait: finally, the drinks order arrived... and they were incorrect. My partner ordered a Jack Daniel's without ice → received with ice. I ordered a Reuilly rosé → received a Quincy white. - Two-hour wait: still no appetizers. Meanwhile, several tables that arrived after us had already eaten and left. Even friends who arrived around 8:20 pm left before us. It's simply unacceptable. Regarding the amuse-bouche and the appetizer: That's the only good thing about it! THAT'S ALL! Regarding the main course: We ordered two duck fillets. - One was pink, which was acceptable. - The other was far too overcooked, so dry that we had to ask the bartender for a knife that actually cut properly in order to eat it. Even the table next to us noticed. The atmosphere in the dining room was becoming very unpleasant: We saw someone come in well after service, visibly annoyed, and clear the tables at breakneck speed, as if the customers were a nuisance. The desserts were the last straw: The cream tasted like dish soap. The question of freshness and "homemade" quality is definitely raised. You really should taste the cream in your Paris-Brest: we couldn't even finish the dessert. The result: nearly four hours spent at the restaurant for a chaotic meal. When it came time to pay, surprise: a €12 bottle of wine on the bill that we hadn't ordered. We expressed our dissatisfaction. The waiter (who wasn't at fault) explained that some staff members were absent. This is no excuse for such a disastrous organization, especially on an evening like Valentine's Day. No compensation was offered. Having worked in the restaurant industry (for a well-known owner in Châteauroux) and having experienced three Valentine's Day services, I find this situation unacceptable. I won't be returning. And I strongly advise against this restaurant. I'd almost tell you to RUN AWAY!

15/02/2026: An excellent restaurant, with generous and delicious portions. My partner and I had lunch there and thoroughly enjoyed it! I highly recommend it; the burger was excellent, cooked to perfection. The drinks menu is very varied; you're sure to find something you like!

The dishes were generous and flavorful. Real tastes, quality ingredients. The restaurant has a unique and authentic atmosphere. The service was great, the people were lovely. We'll definitely be back!

30/09/2025: Very pleasant, clean, tree-lined, and spacious campsite. Clean and well-appointed mobile homes, well-spaced from one another. Warm welcome, attentive to our requests. Simple and tasty meals, cooked on-site with local produce. We had a very pleasant stay.

09/02/2026: Excellent food, a wide variety of dishes. The spring rolls and shrimp in spicy sauce were outstanding. A lovely place. The sautéed frog legs with basil and the caramelized pork were superb, as were the desserts.

08/02/2026: Honestly, it wasn't great. The noodles were overcooked, everything was boiled, it was tasteless, the same quality as an all-you-can-eat buffet but twice as expensive. I won't be back, sorry.

11/02/2026: Three friends and I arrived right when they opened, so the wait was a little longer, but understandable. The service was professional. We shared our pizzas to try everything, and it was excellent. I was hesitant for my friend to order the pineapple pizza, but surprisingly, it was a very good pizza, not quite as good as the Berry pizza with snail butter.
