23/07/2026: We had a wonderful dining experience in Grenoble. The food was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The service was friendly , attentive, and welcoming, even though we were visiting from the United States. The atmosphere was relaxing and made for a memorable evening. The owner made the best of the language barrier and we had the most delicious and beautifully presented dishes. Thank you to the owner for our first taste of Chartreuse! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Grenoble and would gladly return. Thank you for a fantastic meal! Merci

The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and we immediately felt at ease. A huge thank you to Greg, the owner, and his entire team for their warm welcome, kindness, and good humor. Thank you also for the attention given to my 3-year-old son, who was treated like royalty. The attentive service makes all the difference. A wonderful evening, both in terms of the food and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back! 😊

06/08/2026: Fantastic value for money. The menu is rather limited, but features very tasty, balanced dishes. All the different dishes we ate were delicious. My daughter had the mackerel as a starter. We had the beef fillet with thyme and the poultry ballotine with morels as main courses. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée, the millefeuille, and the chocolate mousse. Cold tap water is included for free. My husband had a nice glass of red wine (something with Fleur de Syrahne) and I had a delicious bottle of Ginger Beer. After dessert, we also had a tasty espresso macchiato (café noisette). All together for barely €40 per person (so including drinks). If we are ever in Grenoble again, we would love to go back!

27/08/2026: Albion is undoubtedly the most English-speaking pub in Bourgoin. If you want to have a few beers with friends, watch a rugby or football match, or enjoy a Guinness or an Irish Kilkenny ☘️ (for tourists), it's the perfect place. However, it's much less ideal for a family meal. You order via a QR code, pay upfront, and are even asked for a tip before being served. It's more like a McDonald's with table service than a true pub-restaurant. The flank steak, ordered rare, arrived cold. The burgers were decent, but still very much in the fast-food vein. It's up to you to decide if the concept appeals to you or not.

19/08/2026: Very disappointed with our evening We were already familiar with Bacchus & Pool and had a good impression of the establishment. So, we came this evening with my mother and a friend, but unfortunately, we left very disappointed. Arriving around 9 pm, we were rushed to order because the kitchen closed at 9:30 pm. When I asked if this was also the case during the summer season, the waitress made it very clear that she wasn't on vacation. Her attitude really made us feel like we were bothering her. The aperitifs were served at the same time as the main courses, and while setting down the drinks, she spilled a cup of boiling water on our table. We were splashed, and my friend's bag got wet. The table was barely wiped. Then, when it started to rain and we asked to be seated inside, we were met with a curt, "I'm not in any hurry to stay tonight." We understand the hours and constraints of running a restaurant, but not this lack of consideration for customers. We know people who frequent the establishment and had always had a good impression of Bacchus & Pool. Unfortunately, after this evening, we certainly won't be able to recommend it as we used to. It's a shame, because all it would have taken was a pleasant welcome for the evening to go well.

16/08/2026: While visiting Grenoble with my family, I had the pleasure of enjoying this excellent bistronomic restaurant, which is very affordable and incredibly creative. The cuisine is fresh and homemade, and the dishes are beautifully presented: the mimosa egg reimagined as French caviar, the beef tataki, the tomato tartare, and so on. The ceviche is generous, and everything else is equally delicious. The wines offered by the glass are excellent. While the food is fantastic, it's truly enhanced by the absolutely perfect service: professional, attentive, welcoming, friendly, and even a little funny. That evening, August 15th, the waiter single-handedly handled the entire service with good humor and care for his customers. What a pleasure to be served like that! A huge thank you to him in the dining room and to the chef in the kitchen for their generosity and high quality. It was a truly wonderful experience! A must-try in Grenoble on the charming Place de Gordes.

27/07/2026: Already a very pleasant place to have a coffee or a drink at any time of day, but I tried their lunchtime meal and you absolutely must go! Good homemade food, cooked dishes, and very well presented. I recommend it 100%! A real little bistro right in the city center at very affordable prices!!

27/08/2026: A very pleasant experience. Beautiful decor, excellent food (delicious raclette with local produce), and reasonable prices (compared to other restaurants in the resort). The manager and servers were very cheerful and friendly. I highly recommend it.

If you're looking for a unique dining experience that combines conviviality, quality, and generous portions, book without hesitation. However, once you discover the place has no running water or electricity, you'll understand why they only accept checks or cash.
