13/04/2026: A very pleasant surprise at "Le 102," a restaurant next to the tapas bar "Le River": we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful time at dinner. The waiter was welcoming, attentive, and always smiling. The dishes are delicious and reasonably priced. Special mention goes to the lovely, idyllic terrace and the tables overlooking the Charente River. The desserts are simply excellent.

30/04/2026: We were passing through Cognac and had lunch at this restaurant. The buffet offered a variety of salads, pâté, and plenty of choice. The daily special was delicious, as were the desserts, which included tiramisu, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, and crème brûlée. The staff we spoke with were really friendly. 05/04/2026: A pleasant lunch, but I found this restaurant cold and unwelcoming, which is a shame. The two waitresses were quite pleasant but lacked friendliness. The food was good, but for the rather high price, it wasn't worth it. The starter was duck foie gras, simply placed on the plate. The duck breast was, let's say, a slice. For an aperitif, there was no accompaniment, just a small glass of vegetable cream... and for dessert, a slice of brioche, French toast-style, which was rather uninteresting... Well, we've had the experience, but we won't be back... it's mainly this lack of warmth and conviviality. A pity. I don't mind spending a considerable sum, almost 180 euros, but it has to be worth it... which isn't the case here.

24/03/2026: We went out for a family meal at a restaurant on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the food and the service. We had excellent sweetbreads, delicious whole fish, and some duck breast. We had absolutely no complaints. However, we witnessed the extremely unpleasant behavior of the customers at the next table. To begin with, and it's their right, they felt their sweetbreads weren't a large enough portion, whereas I found mine very generous. I had trouble finishing it. As a result, they found everything bad, while the other diners, who were just leaving, were thoroughly enjoying their meal. To top it all off, they handed their leftovers to their dog on the floor as if they owned the place! I've never seen such disrespectful behavior; they could have at least asked to take the leftovers home!
