11/09/2025: When a chef from Seine-Saint-Denis (93) meets a pastry chef from Charente... They open "Vignes et Lilas" (Vines and Lilacs)... What a great idea!! We arrived late, received a warm welcome, and the food was delicious... The citrus Pavlova was exceptional... Go without hesitation, it's fantastic... We'll definitely be back. Don't change a thing. 03/09/2025: A great place in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente... The cuisine is delicious and of high quality. A must-see.

02/03/2026: I had a drink at this bar last night. Nice...but two problems: You can't order at the bar; you have to sit down and wait for a server to serve you... A real shame when you're very thirsty and want to serve yourself directly at the bar... And also, it's a shame they don't offer beers from Brasserie Nationale (which is only a few hundred meters away).

01/03/2026: Good evening, Your waiter with the shoulder-length hair and beard was very unpleasant. He claimed we ordered a Monaco, which we never requested, and threatened to ban us from the bar if we didn't pay for this drink, which he completely made up. To make matters worse, he was very rude and condescending.

15/02/2026: We came for Valentine's Day weekend. We booked a night with a couples massage (absolutely fantastic) and the "Valentine's Day special" meal. The meal, with its wine pairing, was truly excellent. Just one small drawback: service didn't start until 8 pm; perhaps they should have started 30 minutes earlier, as we didn't finish our meal until 11:30 pm. A small point to note: there were a few cobwebs in the room (above the bed and in the entrance) as well as in the dining room (around the spotlights). The welcome, however, was perfect!

25/01/2026: A mixed experience at this hotel. The location and setting are magnificent, and the welcome was warm. However, the rooms leave much to be desired in terms of amenities; a flat-screen TV would be a welcome addition, especially for a 4-star hotel. The hairdryer is also very old, and the decor is unusual. As for the spa, it's very small; luckily, we were the only guests. The meal was good, and the breakfast was plentiful and featured local products, which we appreciated.

11/02/2026: The service is quick, which is to be expected. The food is good, even though it's fast food. The atmosphere is pleasant, a bit noisy due to the busy times. The staff is smiling, friendly, and pleasant.

24/02/2026: A real find and a little gem!! Homemade cuisine with quality ingredients. Smiling and attentive waitresses. A cozy and intimate atmosphere. In short, everything is there for a great time. We will definitely be back!!

01/02/2026: Let's start with the positives: The chef is good. The dishes are good and flavorful. As for the rest: the service was abysmal. We've never seen anything like it. The person who served us is clearly not a professional and hasn't had any training; she's probably a family member, but she's a waitress. Let me explain: we ordered a bottle of red wine, and the waitress opened it in front of us—nothing unusual there. Until the moment she put her nose right up to the neck of the bottle and took three sniffs to tell us, "It looks good." We were stunned; we'd never seen anything like it in a restaurant. It's neither clean nor professional. Then, when the waitress brought the plates to serve us, she held them out and insisted, "Take it, I can't put it down so far." The same thing happened when she cleared the table: she took the plates in front of her and then held out her hands, saying, "Give me your plate." Again, this is completely unprofessional. The service was incredibly amateurish, and considering the bill (almost €180), it's hard to accept such poor quality. The rest of the dishes were good, except for the starter, which was a bit disappointing. The bread served with the foie gras was stale, and the presentation was far too simple given the prices (nothing like the photos in the Google reviews). The desserts were equally disappointing. The crème anglaise for the floating island was as runny as water. And getting back to the bill of almost €180, it's difficult to understand what justifies such a price. The restaurant is located on the roadside, opposite a pharmacy and houses. Neither the setting nor the food justifies such a price. It's not worth the €180 they're asking. In short, it's not a disaster, but we won't be going back. Especially considering the high prices and the amateurish service. Once again, when you pay this price you expect a minimum level of professionalism; you don't serve customers as if you were inviting friends over.

29/01/2026: I arrived at 6:03 PM with my sister and niece, and we waited for our orders. Up until then, everything was fine, but when my pregnant sister went to collect her order, the woman threw it over the edge, saying, "I don't have time for that?" Knowing that it's her job, what does she have time for? Disagreeable, especially since the restaurant was empty! If I could have given zero stars, I would have! With that, I wish you a good evening.

28/01/2026: The prices are going crazy! Happy Meals are going to be €8 if you want the same thing as usual, whereas before it was €4.50... I have three children, and for less than €15 they used to eat what they liked. Now it's €24 just for the kids, it's simply not possible.

12/02/2026: Excellent restaurant. I stop by every time I'm in Angoulême. Their chicken curry is a real treat, and whether you eat in or order a bowl, the service is fantastic. Their chicken tiramisu is also good, as is their hot Winx. A great place to go if you're visiting Angoulême. And the staff is very friendly.

08/03/2026: The directions to the restaurant were poor; even when you call, it's not easy to find. The welcome was friendly and very professional, with lots of explanations, perhaps even a bit too much 😉 There was a lot of choice, but some disappointments: some sweet treats were dry or hard, and the burger was like a rock 😑 And some basic items that you could easily find in a small airport hotel. The service was a huge disappointment. We booked for 1:30 pm, but at 2:00 pm we were told they were finished with the meat and egg dishes, and at 2:30 pm they told us they were removing the savory items. Basically, we had to have brunch in 30 minutes... Honestly, it didn't live up to the location and the setting. We expected a much more refined experience considering the price (€55 per person). It was a real letdown 😔

07/11/2025: Just passing through. Very happy with this stop. The waiter was smiling and lovely. Quick service and the daily menu was quite generous and very good. Good value for money. If the opportunity arises, I'll go back.

29/12/2025: We stopped by chance because it was 1 p.m., we were hungry but short on time! We found a good meal (burger, pasta, chicken curry, sandwich, pizza…), drinks, and quality coffee to take away or eat in! We had lunch there (tables, chairs, cutlery, restrooms…)! The welcome was very pleasant, the place is clean and well-maintained! We will gladly return!

26/10/2025: A very average salad (pasta, chicken), a bad lemon tart, a baguette that looked like it was from the day before and a can of beer... All for €14!!!! It's frankly excessive...

05/07/2025: Like the recent negative reviews, the welcome was deplorable. According to the staff, you should "just read the signs" and apparently not speak to them. The view is lovely.

17/02/2026: Thank you again for this delicious meal! I'm a regular customer of the duck breast and I'm never disappointed! I highly recommend this restaurant! The tiramisu is also a treat. Currently, I'm using Uber Eats to have my meal delivered to my home (duck breast + fries + flavored sauce) and (salad with walnuts) in two different packages, and I'm NEVER disappointed! A resounding success! 🫶 See you soon, one of your most loyal customers ☺️

22/01/2026: No frills here: good meats grilled over a wood fire, with generous portions and quality ingredients. The fries are a treat too. I tried the pork spider steak (not so common) which was very tasty. It's also worth noting that it's a pizzeria.
