24/09/2026: We often have lunch at Délices Charentais. We are satisfied with the choice of set menus or à la carte options, featuring local products. The service is quick, and the staff and servers are very welcoming. All the dishes are generous and delicious. We recommend this easily accessible restaurant. Reservations are possible for couples, families, or groups. Thank you to the entire team for welcoming us and ensuring we have a wonderful time.

07/11/2025: Just passing through. Very happy with this stop. The waiter was smiling and lovely. Quick service and the daily menu was quite generous and very good. Good value for money. If the opportunity arises, I'll go back.

09/10/2026: A small steakhouse for those who love good, wood-fired food. The wine pairings are very interesting. The restaurant is on the street and the dining room is quite small, which creates a very convivial atmosphere between the tables—you either love it or you don't. While the waitress on duty was rather eccentric and "unconventional," don't let that fool you into thinking the food is good: we thoroughly enjoyed it!

23/09/2026: It's not my habit to leave negative reviews, but I'm very disappointed! Admittedly, we were late for our reservation (and we apologized for that), but the waitress's friendliness, hospitality, and service far outweighed the slight. We remained courteous throughout, despite her off-putting manner of speaking and her complete lack of a smile. A second round of appetizers was served just before the main courses, even though we had asked if it would be possible to have roasted Camembert with our drinks. Some of the meat was overcooked, and the portions of fries were child's size. The final blow came when the owner, during the checkout, proceeded to lecture us about our meal choices (I'm still looking for the law stating that it's mandatory to order a starter and a main course in France). In short, there are much better restaurants in Angoulême and, if it's a restaurant frequented by regulars, they simply need to close their establishment on the weekend of the ramparts circuit!

09/09/2026: Were told this was a decent place for lunch so hoping we were unlucky when we went. Food was basic and coffee almost cold. The service and surroundings were both pleasant though and its a pleasant place to go for a beer

07/10/2026: I don't understand the admiration in the reviews, but what I saw still haunts me: it was like being in a horror movie, where people are being stripped naked in the backyard. That's exactly the atmosphere. There's a restroom in the backyard, but the cook obviously couldn't be bothered to walk the 15 meters; instead, he just ran out, wet some rusty tank, and ran back into the building. The toilet and shower are shared—you're sitting in a stall, and there's some woman in the next stall next to you. The shower is just a name; I got cold water, and you have to pay for it. I wouldn't come here again. If you charge for parking, at least clean things up a bit, it's completely unsanitary.

20/06/2026: Well while i have been eating here in my life it has never gotten better. The menu is very small and they have taken a lot of the menu away which is appalling. The chicken is chewy and crispier then my sun burn over here. It is poor service and there is flies everywhere literally small black flies on me all the time i was here and my friend too. Do not come here. Rooms are good and service is good but food is not very good .

08/06/2026: We had the chance to try the restaurant this evening, and it was simply excellent, from the welcome to the dessert, including the breaded cod prepared perfectly in a fish and chips style! The dishes arrived promptly in a warm and friendly atmosphere! A restaurant we will definitely return to!
