07/09/2026: We had a lovely time at this Italian restaurant. The food was very good, and we enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated at the end of the service. Once our dishes were cleared, we waited over an hour to order dessert. Despite our wait, no server ever came to take our order. So we decided to leave without dessert, which is a real shame because the meal had started so well. This lack of attention at the end of service left a mixed impression.

08/05/2026: The restaurant is spotless and clean, with a lovely buffet and excellent food! The showers are spotless and excellent! There's a large parking area for trucks and oversized vehicles. I highly recommend this place!

08/04/2026: Good evening. We ate there on Wednesday, April 8th. The service is generally good. But today, not so great! What's more, a driver parked across the road! I reported it to the restaurant, and their response was: "I can't see anything from here." So, I conclude that drivers do whatever they want! Furthermore, I told him he had to move. He refused. So, I parked in front of him. He got out of his truck and even tried to hit me! He wasn't even scared. See the photos.

16/08/2026: We have been coming here for years, and Le Compostelle never disappoints. The service is welcoming and shows great knowledge of the menu and wine options. The food is always excellent and creative, the veal dish was outstanding. Strongly recommend coming here as much as possible

06/06/2026: Having recently moved to Bourg-Charente three years ago, I discovered this friendly place as soon as I arrived. A warm welcome, lovely and accommodating owners (they didn't have my brand of cigar and didn't hesitate to order it for me). In short, if you're passing through this town, hurry over; you won't regret it and you'll definitely be back.

18/08/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we chose (perfectly cooked, and the wood-fired grill flavor was sublime). We also discovered a wine we hadn't tried before (the rib-eye steak was a wonderful discovery! 🤩). This was our first time at this restaurant, and the welcome was excellent. The owner was very kind, even though we had a late reservation and arrived later than expected! A great find!

25/06/2026: We arrived at the restaurant and were barely greeted. The waitress seated us at a table right next to a table for 15 people, even though there was plenty of room further down the room. She immediately asked us what we wanted to eat and drink, without giving us a menu. The cook finally brought it to us hurriedly, apologizing to the waitress. She didn't even give us time to look at the menu; she just stood there next to the table asking what we wanted to eat. She didn't know the drinks. "Do you have any beer?" "Yes, but I can't remember which one." I saw a salad for €7 on the menu, in the "Our Starters" column (on the left side of the menu). I asked my partner if she wanted to share an appetizer with me, but the waitress cut me off, saying, "No, that's actually a main course." Okay, fine, I asked my partner anyway if she wanted to share it, and then I was cut off again, saying, "No, that's not an appetizer, you can't." So we chose a main course on the fly, since she was just standing there staring at us. It was a hot evening, and I saw a salmon fillet at the bottom of the menu with a snowflake emoji next to it. I figured it was a fresh, uncooked salmon fillet, perfect for the heat. We were served: the salmon fillet was cooked and indeed piping hot, which was odd about the snowflake. I started eating, the first bite had a strange taste, so I turned the fillet over: the skin was completely burnt. I like the skin, but it was impossible to eat. In short, the waitress was really unpleasant, with no tact or customer service skills. Not knowing the menu is really unprofessional, especially since, according to reviews from four years ago, this was already the case. The food should be good when it's meat; but my salmon wasn't up to par. Our experience is certainly not representative of the restaurant's overall quality, but it left much to be desired...

18/08/2026: While passing through Angoulême, we stumbled upon this restaurant which was a real treat! Superb food and the menus were more than generous considering the size of the place, it was excellent!

10/08/2026: Fast service, clean place and a real long chicken, as the name suggests.

08/08/2026: Waiting 15 minutes for your order while the staff laughs and twiddles their thumbs behind the counter is rather annoying...

09/08/2026: The owners gave us a warm and friendly welcome. The food was plentiful and delicious, traditional fare from appetizer to dessert. The service was friendly.

03/08/2026: I came to eat with a group of eight friends in the veranda of this restaurant. The entire restaurant is air-conditioned, a real bonus during this sweltering summer. The staff was very charming and accommodating (they even offered us a vegetarian option as the daily special!). We were even visited by the chef after we complimented him on his skate wing and summer egg, which I highly recommend! As for the waitress, her wine suggestions were excellent. I recommend this establishment; the welcome is very warm and the food is delicious! In any case, we were delighted and we look forward to booking another table! Until next time!

06/06/2026: Excellent! I highly recommend it; it's inexpensive and has great deals. I've never eaten such good pizza. Generous toppings. You can go there without hesitation. Three delicious pizzas for tonight.
