Friendly welcome, super cool owner, nothing to complain about. You can even customize your pizza or other items; honestly, you don't see that everywhere…
14/07/2026: Tuna pizza without tuna, disgusting fries… for a kids' meal, it ended up being pasta at home! Very disappointed! I'm not even posting the photos, it's going straight in the bin.

17/08/2026: A very warm welcome. Simple and efficient cuisine. Fresh and varied buffet. Varied menu. Very good quality homemade fried meat and fresh salad. Excellent homemade desserts too. A first visit and certainly not the last.
09/07/2026: I won't say much, except that it's very good, the portion size is just right.
The owner and his partner are very friendly.
The previous owner who's helping them out is really kind of her to be passing the torch and supporting them as much as possible.
They make a great team.
You can go there without hesitation.

22/08/2026: We came back to try the terrace with the new owners, and it was perfect. The children loved it. We also had generous portions and tried several different starters, main courses, pizzas, and desserts. We were delighted and will definitely be back.
Not to mention the new decor! The fresh colors make the restaurant feel bigger. Congratulations!
20/08/2026: I came to get a crepe for an afternoon snack, and it was excellent and generously filled.

05/08/2026: We were stuck at Vernon-Giverny station for an hour and twenty minutes in the sweltering heat after missing our train due to incorrect information from a station employee. We politely asked the café if they could simply fill our water bottles with tap water, and they refused.
I understand we might not have been customers, but refusing a little tap water to two people stranded outside in the heat is frankly an impressive level of hospitality. It's a good thing tap water is apparently a luxury in Vernon.
18/07/2026: Rented a bike (including helemt and lock) for 15 euro. Had to give them my ID to hold onto FYI.
super convienent location and can use the bathroom, buy an ice cream etc.
1 of the breaks on the bike didnt work well so test out your happy with your bike before leaving .

02/08/2026: Pain au chocolat (€1.40) and croissant (€1.30) purchased on August 1st, 2026. Not very fresh and certainly not from that day!!! Extremely disappointed 😞.
I definitely won't be going back!!!

24/08/2026: A very bad experience at Café des Arts.
After a 20-minute wait, we were finally served at a dirty table that was never cleaned. When we asked about the cocktails, the waiter curtly told us to just read the menu.
The €6.80 cheese plate was very disappointing: only three small pieces of cheese, stale bread, a few crisps, and two peanuts.
To top it all off, the glasses were simply placed on the table, and the waiter demanded immediate payment before we even had a chance to take a sip. We were the only table to be treated this way.
Unpleasant welcome, unprofessional service, and truly poor value for money. I do not recommend this establishment.

12/07/2026: The fishing warden was unfriendly, he didn't even say hello before telling me to put my t-shirt back on, even though I've been going there for over 10 years, only to then talk about me to his bosses using the word "the other guy with his black t-shirt for 77.50 euros a morning." I find that more than a little unacceptable.
28/04/2026: Really disappointed, because of poor management of fish distributions per fisherman and lack of consistency between the website and reality, we didn't get the fish we expected and having driven 3 hours for ordinary trout is a shame.

11/08/2026: On a business trip, I discovered this restaurant in partnership with the hotel. The food is very good, the setting is very nice with the river. It's true that from the outside it doesn't look like much, but once you're back, it's a different story. And the staff are very friendly, a big plus for Laurie who always has a smile, which is pleasant when you go to a restaurant.
10/08/2026: Thank you to the entire team and the owners for their kindness. We celebrated our wedding there. We were welcomed with love and care. They were always attentive and thoughtful. They helped make our day perfect 🥰 The food was delicious, the portions were generous. Thank you again for everything! We highly recommend them!

21/05/2026: The value for money isn't there.
The burger is €17.50 and you can't choose how you want your patty cooked. Desserts start at €7 and are really nothing special. Personally, I didn't like the chocolate fondant; I make better at home with Alsa powder.
The outdoor terrace is well sheltered from the wind, but watch out for pigeon droppings that constantly fly over it.
Otherwise, the service and welcome are okay.
23/04/2026: It's not bad, it's not excellent.
The charcuterie and cheese board was also average, not much charcuterie, not much cheese.
The biggest problem is the cocktails. I asked if they were homemade, and they said yes. But when the bill arrived and I asked about the ingredients, they couldn't tell me. I asked again if they were made on-site, and they said no, that it was a mix of a bottled product. So, whether it was a mistake or a lack of transparency, I don't know, but it's annoying, though still drinkable.

16/04/2026: A very unpleasant experience. The unprofessional waiter insulted other customers as he walked past us, knocked over glasses, and was consequently even more unpleasant, preferring to insult customers rather than acknowledge his own mistakes. His two colleagues tried to salvage the situation, kudos to them. The food didn't live up to the prices, even though the dishes were decent, but still far too expensive. There was a long wait between courses, and no drinks menu, so imagine our surprise when the bill arrived and a glass of Chardonnay was €10… it felt like we were just opening. Unfortunately, this establishment should be avoided, at least in its current state…
29/03/2026: Excellent culinary experience and excellent service.
We had a Datota Box for the gourmet restaurant La Licorne Royale...
But since we had been very late in using it, and the restaurant no longer accepted it...
In a very accommodating manner, the management of La Licorne offered to seat us instead at the Bistrot du Grand Cerf (thanks to Julie, an employee whom I thank here, as well as her management).
On Friday evening, March 27th, we were warmly welcomed by a head waiter who was perfectly aware of how our reservation should have worked with the box: starter - main course - dessert and a complimentary bottle of water.
After an aperitif chosen from the menu accompanied by a warm amuse-bouche, we had a soft-boiled egg in puff pastry with spinach and hollandaise sauce as a starter, which was cooked to perfection.
For our main courses, my wife had roasted pike-perch fillet and I had the pork knuckle in a pot-au-feu. Two generous and delicious courses.
For dessert, we chose the Baked Alaska (which, incidentally, isn't actually Norwegian), flambéed with Grand Marnier tableside.
The wait between courses was very reasonable, and the background music was very subdued, reminiscent of a piano bar.
We weren't bothered by the noise of the other diners, but admittedly, there weren't many of them.
A place to recommend.
