24/05/2026: Very courteous and friendly staff. The young woman was patient with us, explaining the dishes even though we didn't speak French. We plan to return and recommend the place to others.

24/05/2026: The welcome was fantastic! We went without a reservation, even with our large dog, and they found us a quiet spot… The cassoulet was hearty and delicious, and the crème brûlée was perfect! I highly recommend it! Thank you ☺️ 🐾

09/06/2026: Great hotel with super friendly staff!

08/06/2026: The hotel has well-appointed rooms with comfortable beds, as well as a pleasant little pool for relaxing. The staff is friendly. The only downside is that the curtains aren't blackout enough for our liking. We requested a room facing the hotel entrance because the sun rises on the other side and we could hear a lot of road noise (the windows could be improved), and our request was accepted by the friendly receptionist.

07/06/2026: Gluten-free option in the medieval city of Carcassonne. We chose the €21 set menu. The first course was baked Camembert, very good; the second course was cod with garnish, excellent; and my husband ordered the duck casserole and said it was finger-licking good (this dish contains gluten, so I couldn't try it). Dessert was panna cotta with raspberry and crème brûlée (a type of Catalan cream). The service was very friendly and they speak Spanish.

07/07/2026: We were in Carcassonne for 3 nights recently. Our first night, we picked a place at random and were very disappointed with the quality of the food, however on our 2nd night we ate at Table d'Alais which I had researched before coming and had pre-booked. We were not disappointed. There are several levels of fixed price menu to choose from, as well as à la carte, varying from 26€ to €79 and, whilst the menu is small in options, what there is, is delicious. I had a cold veloute mise en bouche , octopus for my main course which came with a jet black cushion of potato coloured with squid ink - never seen anything like it before and it was intriguing. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the potato was creamy with hidden lardons of bacon, and a perfectly presented dessert. My friends had veal which was served pink and was lovely, and risotto, was was tasty, but could have been warmer. The staff were efficient and allowed us to taste a few wines before committing to one we liked (not something offered everywhere) and the bill, including a decent tip came to €180 for us all - very reasonable for high quality food, wine and service. The dining space is quite small, but is air conditioned, making it a very pleasant experience overall. If you like elegant dining, then I recommend Table d'Alais to you.

10/06/2026: Absolutely delicious!!!!! The price is right considering the quality of the food. The service was fantastic!!!!! (Attentive, very funny, and quick). Remember to book ahead as seating on the terrace is limited!! In short, it's great!

30/05/2026: Regional cuisine, very good 👍 I'm giving it 4 stars because in my pork cassoulet, there was a tiny piece of meat, probably leftover from the bottom of the pan, but the flavor was there! That's what matters... We still thoroughly enjoyed it 😊 It's a shame we didn't have enough time for dessert, maybe next time...

24/05/2026: A small family meal, succulent duck breast, pork belly—how can I put it? The best dish I've ever had in a restaurant, it couldn't have been better. My sincere congratulations to the chef; it was simply perfect.

23/05/2026: The portions were fantastic, the Cassoulet was incredible—I couldn't finish it, and I have a big appetite! It would have been perfect for sharing. Perhaps it wasn't the right day; it was hot… It's meant to be similar to the traditional mountain stew, but without cabbage and with duck and pork (Chon), since it also had sausage… and it also has a similarity to Asturian bean stew, but only that: “a similarity.” It's different. As for the meat with fries and salad, it was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly… The service was super attentive. Impeccable. Highly recommended.

Thank you to the entire team: attentive and professional staff, excellent service, and a lovely terrace with a view of the castle. Congratulations to the sommelier for the perfect wine pairings with the beautifully presented dishes. Well done to the chef and the whole restaurant team!

03/07/2026: My daughter was doing a summer internship at the Hôtel de la Cité, so we wanted to spend some time as a family discovering this superb establishment and the cuisine of Chef Jérôme Ryon. What a delightful experience, thanks in particular to Thomas's excellent service and the many delicious dishes and treats we were served! We thoroughly enjoyed the all-inclusive lunch and vegetarian menus at €55. I highly recommend La Barbacane, a place steeped in history and charm.

14/07/2026: A lovely little cafeteria with excellent value for money. Plenty of space on the ground floor and upstairs, so you don't feel crowded. Small children's area with audiovisual games. Large free parking lot next to the restaurant.

06/06/2026: Excellent restaurant, fresh produce, a timeless decor, truly a neighborhood bistro atmosphere frequented by regulars, good food, I highly recommend it. Just steps from the market in the heart of the city, and there's parking right in front. Very large terrace, bravo! ... Homemade ham hock with fries, sirloin steak (a very nice cut), and floating island dessert. Thank you so much!
