19/02/2026: A Valentine's Day meal with a special menu, but no aperitif or dessert. The service was poorly organized, the manager unfriendly and training her students in the middle of service. There was no presentation of the dishes, and tables were mixed up. One wine was madeleine, so it had to be changed, as had other tables. The decor is outdated. The chef came by at the end of service, a bit gruff. The bill was exorbitant. It was a first, but also a last...

17/02/2026: The food was excellent, the service was fast, and the staff were very pleasant.

07/07/2026: A small, unpretentious inn that deserves a better rating. The staff is very helpful, the potato pancakes were delicious, and the price was competitive. A pleasant place to stay, 5 minutes from Saint-Étienne.

25/06/2026: The atmosphere in this restaurant was absolutely appalling. I do not recommend the experience at all. The owner is extremely unpleasant, both to the customers and to the waiter who was doing his best! We were rushed to eat (the owner even came to get us outside to get dessert!!), and we had to leave by 9:10 pm, even though the posted closing time is 11 pm! The bill was also exorbitant. Furthermore, they didn't offer a menu; everything was spoken aloud, and you had to hurry to choose! I will never set foot in this place again, and neither will my family.

03/08/2026: We had a wonderful time there as a family, and were warmly welcomed by Brigitte and Thierry. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We highly recommend it if you're ever in the area!

08/07/2026: A very warm welcome, with wonderful aromas of spices wafting through the air. The set menu is perfect, very generous for the price, the banh mi is incredibly soft and full of flavor, and the accompanying salad is equally delicious. I highly recommend it!

09/08/2026: This place is very expensive. We played beach volleyball for the Sampous sports week; a hot beer cost €3, a keg of Heineken €10 at Intermarché, and they didn't even offer a discount for one evening. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

21/06/2026: We got married at Domaine de la Barolière on June 20, 2026, and everything was absolutely perfect. The organization was impeccable, very well coordinated, without a single hitch. The staff and servers were incredibly attentive throughout the day. We chose a gourmet meal that was a hit with all our guests: generous and delicious dishes, as well as a wedding cake and desserts. The restaurant, with its glass walls, offers a magnificent view, and the grounds are ideal for taking stunning photos! The room was also air-conditioned. The parking lot is also very convenient for accommodating a large number of guests. Some of our guests stayed overnight, and the beds were comfortable; the rooms were generally clean. A huge thank you to the entire team who helped make our wedding a dream come true. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue! And we will definitely be back. :)

17/06/2026: I had an unforgettable evening at "Le Modern" in Saint-Étienne! The welcome was warm, the service efficient and discreet, and the atmosphere cozy and modern. The value for money is excellent.

02/08/2026: We went to the ice rink as a family when it had been converted into a roller skating rink. It was the last day. The bar in the middle of the rink was closed, so we couldn't get anything to eat or drink, and they started taking it down while the children were still on the rink, meaning they couldn't complete a full lap for a good fifteen minutes. The music was soft jazz at first, then after an hour it was replaced with something more modern and danceable. The children, however, enjoyed the ramps that had been set up on the rink.

05/05/2026: Unacceptable! We live an hour and a half away, so we checked the opening hours (the day before and the morning of) for Sunday, May 3rd. The website and Google indicated 3 PM. We arrived and nothing was open, just a sign saying "End of Season," even though it was still listed online as opening at 3 PM... Several people had already passed by, all hoping to skate. It's shameful not to update your hours online these days. We wasted time and gas, and ended up disappointed.

27/06/2026: A magnificent and very welcoming hotel; the wooden staircase adds a lot of charm. I particularly liked the lobby and reception area! The staff is incredibly attentive to its guests. My room was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was also greatly appreciated in this heat! The meal in the restaurant was delicious! A big thank you to everyone for your extraordinary hospitality.

06/07/2026: Avoid this place. Cold welcome, no menu, just a very quick announcement of the set menu. The waitress didn't understand our choices, offered no compensation, and we really felt like we were bothering them.

16/07/2026: We went to the restaurant and had a €16 set menu with a starter, main course, and dessert. It was excellent, we received a very warm welcome, and the place was very charming. I loved the atmosphere of the room where we ate. The food was delicious, just like home cooking.

03/08/2026: We discovered it by chance. The waitress was really lovely. She was serving alone and very efficient. The dishes were generous and beautifully presented. We weren't disappointed.

01/07/2026: This restaurant should be avoided at all costs. Its attractive decor promised so much. There was no menu, just the daily special. The meal was a disaster: my fish was overcooked and served with equally overcooked pasta, the vegetables were completely unseasoned, the sauce bland and tasteless, and the veal steak was as thin as a shoe sole. We wondered if they had a chef or a three-year-old to prepare such inedible food; we practically devoured the bread. Thankfully, our waitress Sarah tried to salvage the situation by offering us a 10% discount on the meal—a kind gesture of goodwill—and offering a half-hearted apology. But I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

11/08/2026: Fresh and well-prepared food... but a little finishing touch on some dishes would have been great! ...but I recommend it. Good establishment.

05/08/2026: The restaurant is always pleasant. I was a little disappointed by the quality of the food. The pea soup was oily and the dessert lacked finesse.
