30/04/2026: Hotel to avoid. The overall atmosphere is very peculiar: the bar is often noisy and unpleasant, like an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, and the lounge/restaurant area resembles a nursing home 😂 mostly occupied by very elderly clientele, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. Following feedback I gave to the manager regarding the state of the establishment, she reacted inappropriately by contacting my company with unfounded accusations, claiming that I had damaged the room. Fortunately, these claims were not taken seriously, especially since a room inspection had been carried out before my departure. I deplore a lack of professionalism and an inability to accept criticism. Hygiene also leaves much to be desired: there was a dog in the restaurant, even roaming in the kitchen, which is unacceptable. In short, a very disappointing experience. I do not recommend this establishment, particularly for reasons of hygiene and management.

20/04/2026: A bit pricey for a hiking lodge, but great rooms, and the evening meal was amazing. The packed lunch was also very good.

11/10/2025: We received a very warm welcome upon arrival. The local menu was delicious after a complimentary amuse-bouche... a very pleasant moment with soft background music and friendly conversation with the owner. This small establishment in the old town of Mende requires advance booking. An address to remember. Everything was excellent. We'll be back on our next visit to Mende.

21/04/2026: A charming little hotel, lovingly furnished in a traditional style. It is run by a young woman who is an excellent cook and is supported by young staff. The bathroom meets modern standards.

19/04/2026: A very good experience. The two ladies are extremely dedicated and motivated. The food and service were excellent. The room was commensurate with the low price.

The staff is kind, friendly, and energetic, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We had a wonderful meal: the dishes were generous, excellent, and truly delicious. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

19/11/2025: A small, authentic restaurant where the owner deserves support. The value for money is excellent: you really get your money's worth! The pizzas are delicious, and the traditional menu beautifully showcases the region. You can taste the hard work, dedication, and desire to do things well in every dish. A simple, genuine place where you eat very well. Kudos to the owner for his commitment.

13/10/2025: The manager was very accommodating regarding our late arrival time. The room was recently renovated, spotless, and the bedding was really comfortable. Excellent value for money!

24/08/2025: If you're staying in the annex, forget about a 4-star hotel. The room, priced at €175 per night (without breakfast), is absolutely not worth that price—€140-150 maximum, and even then, considering the region. Nothing about it suggests the advertised standard: • Very dirty carpet, old and damaged furniture, stained sheets. • Outdated bathroom, with only a small bar of soap, two cardboard cups, cheap towels, and a leaky showerhead. • An obsolete hairdryer that doesn't even blow hot air. The first room we were offered was so unacceptable that we had to ask for another! And to top it all off: the advertised payment methods are misleading. The website states that holiday vouchers are accepted, but once you arrive, they tell you that in reality, only paper vouchers are accepted, not electronic ones. A practice that is borderline illegal and completely unacceptable. ❌ This establishment is neither a 4-star hotel nor a castle. Absolutely avoid it.

24/04/2026: A truly beautiful establishment. The room is spacious, and the complimentary toiletries (shampoo from La Ferme du Bergognon and biscuits from Biscuiterie Marius d'Altier) are delightful. The bedding is comfortable, and the rooms are very pleasant with a magnificent view of Altier. Simon's cuisine is refreshing and delicious, featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu changes according to his inspiration and the seasons. The welcome is personalized and friendly. I highly recommend it. A wonderful discovery.

24/04/2026: We went to eat this evening at this warm and very cozy restaurant. A wonderful welcome, the staff were very approachable and attentive. The meal was generous, the dishes homemade, and the presentation refined – everything was perfect and very reasonably priced. Thank you so much for this lovely evening, and see you soon!

14/03/2026: The food was quite good, however, the waiter was extremely aggressive. We asked for a second beer, and the waiter became aggressive, saying, "If you don't tell me what kind of beer it is, I can't know." He then aggressively moved the bread basket to see our table number and knocked empty cans of Coke off the table. Secondly, we were there, and he was aggressive with customers. The first time we visited, he complained about another customer. To us... Avoid this place; it's unprofessional.
