11/10/2025: We were given a very warm welcome upon our arrival. A delicious local menu followed by a complimentary appetizer... a very pleasant experience with a little background music and a chat with the owner. A small establishment in the old town of Mende, which requires a reservation in advance. A must-see address. Everything was excellent. See you next time on your next visit to Mende.

28/09/2025: We just discovered this wonderful bakery located in La Malène. A very warm welcome. The breads are delicious, as are the homemade brioches, risoles, and cakes. A wide selection of jams and honeys. Le Fournil also sells groceries. A very pleasant shop. Michel and Marie Moulin Lyon

The staff is kind, friendly, and energetic, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We had a wonderful meal: the dishes were generous, excellent, and truly delicious. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

24/08/2025: If you're staying in the annex, forget about a 4-star hotel. The room, priced at €175 per night (without breakfast), is absolutely not worth that price—€140-150 maximum, and even then, considering the region. Nothing about it suggests the advertised standard: • Very dirty carpet, old and damaged furniture, stained sheets. • Outdated bathroom, with only a small bar of soap, two cardboard cups, cheap towels, and a leaky showerhead. • An obsolete hairdryer that doesn't even blow hot air. The first room we were offered was so unacceptable that we had to ask for another! And to top it all off: the advertised payment methods are misleading. The website states that holiday vouchers are accepted, but once you arrive, they tell you that in reality, only paper vouchers are accepted, not electronic ones. A practice that is borderline illegal and completely unacceptable. ❌ This establishment is neither a 4-star hotel nor a castle. Absolutely avoid it.

24/02/2026: I stopped at L'Oxxo Grillade on a Sunday evening on my way back from vacation in February, and I was pleasantly surprised. We were warmly welcomed by a very polite young waiter and quickly made to feel at home. The mouthwatering aroma of grilled food quickly convinced us to choose the set menu. The portions were generous, the presentation was lovely, and there was background music playing. All this for a very reasonable price: €50 for two people. I will gladly return and highly recommend it.

24/02/2026: It was very good; we chose two Aubrac beef steaks. The fries were excellent, and the sauces were too! The desserts were also good and beautifully presented.

27/02/2026: We had a problem with a salad. We mentioned it discreetly to the waiter, but it seems he wasn't pleased. No apology, he was busy taking payments, so he avoided us when it came time to pay, and there was no goodbye or thank you when we left. We were just passing through, but a little respect and courtesy are in order. He might have preferred if we had spoken up in the middle of the crowded dining room and pointed out the hair in the dish. Mistakes happen, it's not a big deal. You reapply the dish, apologize, and that's it.

26/03/2026: Basic, just like home, nothing special! Nothing more... It's a shame to come here and spend your money when there are better options elsewhere.

14/03/2026: The food was quite good, however, the waiter was extremely aggressive. We asked for a second beer, and the waiter became aggressive, saying, "If you don't tell me what kind of beer it is, I can't know." He then aggressively moved the bread basket to see our table number and knocked empty cans of Coke off the table. Secondly, we were there, and he was aggressive with customers. The first time we visited, he complained about another customer. To us... Avoid this place; it's unprofessional.

31/03/2026: A very nice hotel with excellent service. The room was very clean and cozy. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming. The restaurant is accessible and offers quality products.

29/11/2025: I have stayed here twice now when walking the Chemin de Compostelle and each time it has been very good. The first time I stayed in the dormitory accommodation, which is one large sleeping area with shared facilities and a little kitchen downstairs. The second time I stayed in one of the hotel-style rooms, with private bathroom. Both times I slept well and everything was clean and as it should be. The communal meals are taken in the hotel restaurant and were very good. Breakfast in particular was copious and complete - a great start to the day's walk. The staff were helpful and friendly (the second visit, which was at the end of the Camino season, the whole place was effectively being run by one young woman who did a fantastic job).

05/10/2025: We arrived at 1:30 p.m. but it was closed and opened at 4 p.m. We would have liked to know this when booking.
