05/09/2026: A family-run inn with a slightly dated interior, an outdoor terrace, and easy parking. The portions are generous and very good. The bison meat was tender and served with an excellent sauce (I was so eager to try it that I forgot to take a picture!). The kougelhopf, glazed with kirsch, is served automatically with whipped cream, whereas other restaurants charge extra! The waitress was pleasant and remained smiling despite the large number of people she had to manage (it was a group). This inn is well worth a visit.

24/08/2026: We ended up at the "Auberge de la Frohmuhl" based on the reviews, and first impressions can be deceiving: from the outside, the place doesn't look very inviting, the interior is very rustic, time seems to have stood still 60 years ago—but the food, on the other hand, is delicious. The elderly owner and his wife took over the restaurant in 1988 and haven't changed a thing. Since the restaurant is open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Sunday, I asked him "why" and whether he was thinking about retiring. His answer was: "Well, you know, we cook every day for about 25 senior citizens from the surrounding area, and we certainly don't want to let these people down. If we're here anyway, we can stay open and serve all the other guests." 🙏🏻👍🏻 We'll be back! ❤️

03/08/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant today and we were delighted! The daily special was simply delicious, prepared with high-quality ingredients and bursting with flavor. The service was impeccable: welcoming, friendly, and very professional. The value for money is excellent, with a generous and truly delicious menu. A wonderful place that we recommend without hesitation. We will definitely be back!

23/07/2026: A wonderful discovery, thanks to an invitation to the tasting menu. A warm and professional welcome. The setting and terrace at the back of the restaurant are very pleasant. Delicious gourmet cuisine at affordable prices. Excellent wines. An address to add to your address book, and it will be our go-to spot for affordable luxury dining. 08/09/2026: A fantastic find! A warm and welcoming atmosphere, with special attention paid to assisting us, as I was accompanied by someone using a cane. A friendly, family atmosphere where you can't help but feel at ease. I really enjoyed the self-service concept, with the main course served directly by the chef: slow-cooked, generous, and delicious. The value for money, the lovely terrace overlooking the Place d'Armes, and the charming interior are real pluses. Everything makes you want to come back! 😊 Thank you to the whole team!

Attentive, highly professional, and with a real attention to detail. The service and products were of very high quality. 17/09/2026: A disastrous experience. The dish was completely tasteless (a kind of risotto), lacking salt and flavor, with a few vague bits of leek and a hint of ham, all in insufficient quantity. I thought I'd settle for dessert: a tarte tatin. I didn't find any of the deliciousness one would expect from this type of dessert. The caramel was clearly store-bought and not the kind made from sugar melting in the oven. The pastry was soggy, and the plate was covered in a garish red fruit coulis (I'm trying to figure out what that has to do with a tarte tatin!). Is there even a chef in this kitchen? This restaurant is one to avoid.

28/08/2026: This is one of those restaurants where I hesitate before reviewing it. I'd really like to keep it a secret for myself and our friends. On the other hand, the food is so delicious, and we don't eat out often enough to not spread the word. The restaurant is a bit out of the way, but right on the water and by the lock. The style is typical of the region, and there's no dress code. It's wheelchair accessible, and there's parking right in front. Water for dogs is provided, as is the excellent wine selection. The service is incredibly friendly, and the language barrier is minimal. We each ordered a set menu and enjoyed it immensely. Heike fell in love with the beef carpaccio, and the chef and owner perfectly captured my taste. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality. The big question for our next visit: Do we order the delicious dishes again, or do we try other delicacies? We absolutely love it there; the 35 km drive is no problem at all.

06/08/2026: It was a real pleasure to stumble upon this restaurant on the way back from Gérardmer. A warm welcome, everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. They even gave our 6-year-old son a little something extra. Absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend it.

23/08/2026: We came as a group of 10 for a birthday celebration and thoroughly enjoyed trying the American BBQ! Everything was homemade, the portions were generous and well-cooked – in short, it was delicious. Special mention goes to Mathieu and Sullivan, the two servers, who kept us entertained all evening with their infectious good humor.

23/08/2026: Positive points: The food was very good and the cuisine was excellent. Negative points: Unfortunately, the service needs improvement. There was no welcome whatsoever (not even a greeting upon entering), and we were seated very coldly. Things didn't improve from there: when I simply handed a dish to my grandmother to save the waiter from having to go all the way around the table, I was reprimanded. The same thing happened when it came time to pay: we were waiting to be charged, and the waiter, in a particularly bad mood, practically yelled at us for blocking the way (even though the checkout area is right next to the kitchen...). It's a shame, because the food is good, but the staff's lack of politeness and rigidity spoiled the experience.

10/06/2026: We came with 57 people on June 9, 2026. We were very well received. The menu was impeccable. Crudités and charcuterie for starters. Chicken in mushroom sauce with Brussels sprouts and Duchess potatoes as a side dish, and to finish, a lovely slice of apple tart. The service was prompt and efficient. Very friendly staff. Top-notch! I highly recommend it.
