07/12/2025: We had lunch here with my husband and two children during a visit to Metz. We received a very warm welcome and the waiters were friendly. The menu was varied, and all the products were sourced from local producers. The ribeye steak was the best I've had in a long time in a restaurant—perfectly cooked. The revisited steak tartare was delicious, and the burgers were generous. The desserts are a real highlight, with many homemade options! The tarte Tatin was delicious, and the little pistachio and raspberry financiers were equally delightful. We highly recommend it!

14/12/2025: We were a group of 25 for lunch. We were served quickly considering our busy schedule. The vol-au-vents were a real treat. Dessert options included homemade apple tart and vacherin glacé (a generous portion). The staff was excellent. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and a reminder of our morning visit was provided by Meisenthal chocolate balls hanging from the ceiling. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant deserves its 5 stars on every level!!! EVERYTHING IS PERFECT TO MY TASTE. From the welcome, to the service, to the food. I recommend it without reservation. Above all, MAKE A RESERVATION!!! Because given its reputation, it fills up very quickly!!!

23/01/2026: After several attempts at the Gaulois restaurant, it's becoming increasingly disappointing. The daily specials are lacking in variety and flavor, and the same goes for the desserts. But the worst part is how cold it is; we had to eat in our down jackets. When I mentioned this to the owner, she became defensive, saying the restaurant was heated. This restaurant was impeccable a few years ago, but those days are gone. It's clear that the customer is no longer their priority. As for us, we won't be back anytime soon, which is a real shame.

21/11/2025: Just passing through… What a find! Bravo! We thoroughly enjoyed everything from the appetizer to the dessert. The menu is simple, with only two choices, which guarantees seasonal cuisine. And it was so delicious! Not to mention the impeccable service. I recommend it 1000%!

31/01/2026: What a disaster… We booked for 5 adults and 2 children, but ended up at a table for 6. We ordered an "XL platter," which is all XL in its name. We asked for the children's menu so it would arrive with the starter, but it arrived last, at the same time as our main courses. We sat on a broken chair, the table was never cleared, and the dishes arrived frozen. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to what seemed to be the head waiter—who, like the XL platter, was probably only XL in name—he just sighed. And in the end, after a quick microwave, the plates came back cold! The waitress, clearly having a bad day, slammed the tables and chairs next to us to express their displeasure, no doubt 🤷🏻 When it came time to pay, they asked if everything was alright. We replied no, but nothing more... probably just a polite formality we were asked for, but ultimately our response was completely irrelevant because there was no apology, no words. The bill was very expensive, and the service was poor, except for the waitress who was clearly doing her best to make it work. As for the rest, this was the last time you'll see us at your establishment.
