21/06/2026: Steak et frites was not as good as it could be. Very tough and chewy meat and fries were not crispy. Asked for hot sauce but they only brought out Maggi. My friend had fish and chips. He liked it.

13/05/2026: A wonderful discovery based on a recommendation! I had a great time and the food was absolutely delicious. 😍 If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stop by again! Special mention for the very warm welcome, I loved it. I love a friendly place where everyone laughs and the service is superb; the chef even came out to greet his customers. 18/07/2026: A very nice place, the food is excellent, the service is top-notch, the dining room is air-conditioned, and there's a terrace. This place is friendly; there were three of us for lunch. We had a very generously portioned Vosges salad that was truly delicious, a Milanese salad, and a perfectly cooked beef fillet. I highly recommend it without hesitation!

13/07/2026: A restaurant renowned for its meat specialties. I enjoyed an excellent steak there. The homemade ice cream is also a real treat. A highly recommended place.

30/07/2026: Having eaten there regularly, we can say that we are never disappointed at the Winstub. Whether it's the food or the service, everything is top-notch.

30/07/2026: First visit with my wife to Winstub Geric. Pleasant service from two young women in the kitchen; no wait for a quiche with raw vegetables and roasted potatoes, and a "Grandma's Stew" (grilled cervelas sausage, raw vegetables, and roasted potatoes). Both dishes were delicious. The cheesecake was also very good. Thank you, we will be back. Nice atmosphere.

05/07/2026: The food was really average, especially the crème brûlée, which I chose to ignore after the first spoonful. The staff were friendly and the prices were average. The worst part was the swarm of flies, which made the meal extremely unpleasant. There were always at least 10 flies around and in the dishes.

03/07/2026: Traditional restaurant, nothing fancy, nothing fancy, just a simple restaurant with simple cuisine.

02/08/2026: A very nice bakery with always welcoming staff and a refined presentation of the products. The only downside is the endless queue at certain times, just to buy bread. They should think of those who come specifically for bread and set up a separate checkout for it. I leave when it gets too crowded.

18/06/2026: A very good little neighborhood brasserie, ideally located near the Centre Pompidou and the train station. The welcome is warm, the service is quick, and the food is good. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the area. An unpretentious place where you can have a good time in a friendly atmosphere. Perfect for a pleasant lunch or dinner without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it!

21/06/2026: We visited the Michelin-starred restaurant Auberge Saint Walfrid. Given its excellent reviews, our expectations were understandably high. Upon arrival, we were seated in a beautiful dining room and looked forward to beginning our culinary journey with a nine-course tasting menu. As the restaurant is located in France, we were naturally greeted in French. Unfortunately, we do not speak French, so we politely asked whether communication in English or German would be possible, as these languages were also indicated on the restaurant’s website. Given the restaurant’s proximity to the German border, we felt this was a reasonable request. One would expect that, after such a request, communication throughout the evening would continue in one of these languages. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Time and again, the staff reverted to speaking French, making it difficult for us to fully understand the explanations and enjoy the experience. The sommelier was another disappointment. When we asked whether a wine pairing was available with the menu, he seemed not to understand the request and responded with several unclear wine suggestions, without explaining which wines would accompany which dishes. The result felt rather disorganized and confusing. Furthermore, we were left with the strong impression that we were not considered particularly interesting or valued guests. The food itself—which was truly outstanding—was often placed in front of us with little or no explanation. There was a noticeable lack of attention and engagement from the staff, and even a smile seemed difficult to find. In summary, the service was deeply disappointing and, in our opinion, not worthy of a Michelin-starred establishment. The cuisine, however, was exceptional and deserves every compliment.

04/06/2026: It is rare these days to find a really comfortable and unique place to stay. And indeed this beautiful Auberge that I found by chance, as it was half way on my route to the UK, is just that. I have returned 3 times and it remains a memorable experience. It has exquisite rooms, pleasant staff and wonderful food and wine. There is a lovely pool too. You wouldn’t know if you passed by in a car what treats lay inside for a weary traveller.
