We are lucky to still have cooks who defend the profession of everything homemade. So go and enjoy it, make your own experience Otherwise go to a restaurant chain, eat sous vide, and move on....

10/09/2024: One night is enough. You must not look at the household oh the dust. Basic family room. A meal at the restaurant in the evening reserved for 11 people reserved very mediocre compared to the price. The practical prices are not at all related to the quality of the meal. The boss waiter thinks he's a friend. He does not hesitate to make comments (eats too much bread and brings sandwich bread to the table). I quote his sentence after the cheese: are you finished? Ah, so much the better, I'm on the hunt for bread and can re-serve it on the other tables. Starter 20 euros main course 20 euros cheese 10 euros. Some people at our table took the daily menu for 28 euros all inclusive. Better served as cheese when for the dessert they had in particular the peach Melba must have been prepared for a very long time not even ice cream in it or melted for a very long time. So no dessert. 50 euros per person a shame for what we ate. No more details, I could write a novel. I'm not criticizing the price but at this price you can expect a minimum of quality. To conclude, a basic room, a cold shower, a television that does not work. A breakfast with cold cold milk after asking to heat 3 times. When paying the bill, an unpleasant boss who blows when separating rooms and meals. No commercial gesture on his part. Total stay more than 1000 euros. A shame to be banished, we had much better stays at La Bourboule in other establishments. Everyone has their own tastes and choices but find out well in advance.

09/09/2024: À la carte, entrée, plat, fromage et dessert pour 60 €…. digne d’un étoilé ! Dans l’assiette, un plat de charcuterie modeste et sans présentation ( 2 tranches de jambon, 4 de saucisson, 40 g de pâté et 3 cornichons) pour 20€! Le plat, un confit de canard de qualité moyenne, accompagnement passe-partout, tiède… 20€! C’est là que le propriétaire nous fait remarquer que nous mangeons trop de pain ! Plateau de fromage avec parcimonie, certains devront l’accompagner de pain de mie industriel !…10€! Le dessert, pour les plus courageux, soit une pêche Melba à la glace fondue, ou un tarte à la poire de plusieurs jours..10€! Dîner raté, beaucoup trop cher, c’est du vol! Peut-être La Bourboule pourra t’elle retrouver sa splendeur passée mais l’offre de restauration devra être d’un autre niveau que celui de ce restaurant.

23/08/2024: Entirely from the period and from another time but that can be its charm if you're not careful. I don't understand, I paid €72 for a single room when it was advertised as €68 on the site and on the exterior poster. It’s still expensive for the service. Decent bedding but tiny shower. Big downside: you have to wait until 5 p.m. to enter! And we let you hang out outside while there are people inside and a good lounge to wait in… General welcome so-so.

18/08/2024: Decent room, a little expensive considering the standard and road view with noise. But the hotel is nice and the welcome is correct

28/09/2024: Dealing with a very unpleasant saleswoman who blows as soon as we ask her for something (in particular to pay separately which does not seem like the end of the world at first glance) I paid extra (on the largest formula at €9.75) to have a praline brioche. The saleswoman went to the back to give me a brioche that was ridiculously small compared to those on the shelves and extremely dry. I therefore concluded that it was unsold from the day before. It didn't seem unpleasant to me, it was quite a disappointing method.

14/09/2024: Hearty, authentic cuisine with lots of cheese and surprising dishes - beyond the standard fare. I had truffade (a cheese and potato mixture) on the first evening and tripe with cheese the next evening: a poem for lovers of Auvergne country cuisine.

23/06/2024: Très surpris de se voir refuser l'entrée par ce que les chiens ne sont pas acceptés, alors que sur le site ce n'est pas noté. Notre chienne nous suit partout et depuis qu'on l'a, plus de 3 ans, je n'ai jamais rencontré ce souci, dans tout types de restaurants. Vous avez perdu des clients. Mettez au moins votre site à jour.

07/09/2024: Je déconseille fortement Très déçu du complètement des employés autant à l’accueil qu’aux services. Pas de pain et pas d’eau obliger d’aller se servir nous même ! Ketchup mayonnaise et moutarde il faut également aller se servir nous même. On nous apporte le vin sans verre, dessert sans petite cuillère obligé de me lever encore une fois pour en réclamer une et la gérante me répond «servez-vous dans le bol à côté de la cuisine »…. Erreur sur la commande obliger d’attendre encore plus longtemps, obligé de réclame 2 fois le dessert des enfants parce qu’on nous a oublié , burger, crème caramel hyper sucré et carbonisé sur le dessus. Vraiment dommage car le cadre est vraiment sympa

18/09/2024: This was a recommendation from our host who also made the reservation too. What a beautiful experience, the setting is fabulous with views to die for. Sat on the top of the hill looking over the valley at sunset was tremendous! And so was the food! Often places rely on the setting to get custom, but repeat custom comes from excellent food and service and this was the complete package! So worth it, go it’ll be fabulous

12/08/2024: Vue magnifique et accueil très agréable. Plats très agréables et les attentions à l’égard des enfants rendent ce moment un temps de détente pour les enfants. Petit détail, la bière est servie dans des verres frais, fait plutôt rare dans les restaurants de nos jours. Je recommande chaleureusement!

17/09/2024: Sad drive...A heavily dented coffee can whose lid was not watertight after opening the lid was slipped into the delivery! Shameful and disingenuous. An apology and a refund are the least we can do here. No customer appreciates being mistaken for trash! I had to decant everything before making my coffee. Really not a nice situation...

14/09/2024: We had a nice time and ate well at a reasonable price for two. The dishes are local and home-cooked. Friendly and efficient staff. You can eat inside even if a little small. We recommend.

26/08/2024: Very nice campsite with great beach access. Adult swimming pool very good small downside for the two swimming pools Children or young people can only swim no ball games or water polo style activities too bad. Very kind staff. Very clean campsite. Entertainment to see again in the evening for a 5 star. In the end I recommend.

25/08/2024: We stayed at this campsite for one night while passing through in August 2024. The site has individual parking spaces separated by trees and hedges, which are very easy to access. The spacious entrance in particular makes it easy to drive into the space even with a large vehicle. The place is outside and is super quiet. There is a large, new play area for smaller children, a swimming pool, a volleyball field and a soccer field (volleyball and soccer fields could be better maintained). At the reception they only speak French, but all the staff were very helpful. The sanitary facilities are clearly outdated, but tidy and clean. We slept very well. By car you can get to Clermont-Ferrand in about 20 minutes, where you can sit and have a drink in the central market square (unfortunately we couldn't see more).
