31/05/2026: I've been going to Coeur d'Artichaut for two years now and I love the service and the food. The waiters/waitresses and managers are fantastic, always smiling! Their takeaway prices are unbeatable! And there's a particularly lovely terrace under the trees to eat in! I highly recommend it!

Our most recent meal was on Wednesday, July 7, 2026, in the evening with our 2-year-old son, on the terrace. The setting is perfect, and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. We love this restaurant because the service is truly top-notch, with a genuine desire to please the customers. A huge thank you! 25/06/2026: A tiny, charming restaurant just steps from Place des Terreaux, right at the foot of the Croix Rousse hill, where I've dined several times and always gladly return when I want to relive (or share with others) the intimate and evocative experience of an evening in the dim light of its rooms filled with objects. Undoubtedly, the restaurant's defining characteristic is its D'Annunzio-esque atmosphere, which I believe remains the main reason people choose it and remember it. However, I must say that the cuisine doesn't rest on the laurels of its fascinating horror vacui and remains consistently good (though I must admit that it has almost always provided me and my guests with both pleasant surprises and minor disappointments on the same evening). I've recently discovered their cocktails, too, which reinterpret classics with that touch of originality you'd expect from such an unconventional place: the Negroni with rosemary smokiness and the Spritz with elderflower liqueur are truly excellent, but I recommend asking the price before ordering, as they risk skyrocketing your dinner bill, which otherwise usually remains within a reasonable range, appropriate for the unique nature of the place and its location. For those wondering, the restaurant's name is a tribute to Jacques Demy's iconic 1967 musical comedy of the same name (known in Italian as "Joséphine"), as confirmed by the many photographs and illustrations on the walls depicting Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorléac, the stars of the famous film. Reservations are highly recommended, given the limited seating available. Try it on a winter evening to appreciate its perfect climate... and you'll be back in the summer too ;-)

20/04/2026: We were very surprised by our experience at this restaurant, having gone in without hesitation given the good reviews. There was very little to recommend it in terms of food: dry bread, bland dishes, whole sprigs of rosemary in the starter, a veal cutlet with soggy breading, poorly washed razor clams (shellfish), tough asparagus... The water carafe was greasy. We were very disappointed.

03/05/2026: We enjoyed the set menu: tripe and sweetbreads with tomato sauce and mashed potatoes. Delicious, hearty, and entirely homemade. We had a lovely time outside in the courtyard. Simple and friendly atmosphere. I recommend it.

03/07/2026: We wanted to eat at this brasserie. The wait was very reasonable, and the selection was satisfactory. Since the one I had chosen was no longer available, I opted for another salad. When it arrived, I told the waiter, "Well, it's not going to be possible to eat this." The young man, very surprised, looked at me and asked, "You did order this salad, right?" "Yes, but I don't want what's in it!" (A huge fly...). He brought the plate back, but given how quickly it was done, I think he just removed the fly, but didn't change or remake the plate. So, I don't think I'll go back, nor recommend this brasserie... because I have serious doubts about the hygiene. One of my friends' dishes had undercooked ingredients...

10/07/2026: We had booked online for 6:30 pm, but the kitchen doesn't open until 7:30 pm. Luckily, we were able to have a drink while waiting for it to open. I chose the grilled octopus. It was good, but a little too salty for my taste. On the other hand, the vegetables and fries were excellent. My partner had the alheira. It's a specialty with a distinctive flavor, but very good. The prices are very reasonable and the service was friendly. Overall, a good place.
