05/05/2026: The Verdict: A beautiful spot for a drink to enjoy the decor, but the inconsistent service and strange Parisian attitude from the waitress make it hard to recommend for a full meal. The Atmosphere & Logistics The restaurant is undeniably beautiful and enjoys a prime location right by Brotteaux station in the lovely 6th arrondissement. The decor is tasteful, and the initial booking process over the phone was seamless and straightforward. The Food The meal was alright, but ultimately didn't live up to the city's culinary reputation. The Charolais tartare was okay but nothing special, and also didn’t poison me, so that’s a benefit. The Lyonnaise salad was perfectly edible but failed to leave a lasting impression. The Service: This is where the experience became truly inconsistent. We were initially greeted by a very warm, welcoming waitress who set a great tone. However, the server who took over for the rest of the evening was markedly cold and bordering on unfriendly. What made the experience particularly strange was that I was dining with a Lyonnaise friend, born and raised in the city, who was handling the ordering and translation. Despite this, the server maintained a haughty, dismissive attitude; honestly, she felt like she was pretending to be Parisian. Given the legendary hospitality typically found in Lyonnaise bistros, this frosty reception was a disappointing contrast that unfortunately left a sour taste in my mouth.

27/04/2026: The waffle was very good, as was the whipped cream. However, I was disappointed by the chocolate, which was store-bought, though of good quality. It was such a generous portion! The decor of the dining room is far inferior to that of the other two Lyon locations. And it was extremely noisy, as everyone was crammed into one section of the room. I asked to change tables; my second seat was a bit quieter.

07/06/2026: I agree with some of the comments that highlight the lack of flavor in the drinks; indeed, the homemade iced tea and the Purple latte were bland. The waitress, however, was very nice.

31/05/2026: From Oven to Street. At Les Artistes on Rue du Mail, the baker lifts a run of baguettes from the oven with a long-handled peel, turns towards the window, and tips them neatly end-on into the yellow basket below. The action is fast and exact, but the room gives it weight: stacked crates, metal shelving, ducting and the old brick arch hold the bakery in plain, hard use. From the pavement, you are close enough to catch the hand-off from oven to basket, with the glass turning that last hot transfer into part of the street scene. In Croix-Rousse, that closeness fits the quarter. Craft and commerce still sit near the pavement here, so the photo catches bread at the point it leaves the oven and enters the morning outside.

23/05/2026: Fantastic experience, from the welcome to the selection of products! I've been a regular for many years and I never get tired of it. I highly recommend this place :) Special mention for the traditional seeded bread, the cheese bread, the flan, and the filled choux pastries.

12/04/2026: This is a place I regularly go for lunch, and I always enjoy it. The menu is fairly consistent, with dishes available year-round, complemented by a few seasonal offerings. The daily special, however, changes every day, making it easy to find something different. My go-to dish is the Asian-inspired tuna dish, which I order almost every time I visit: a wonderfully fresh, well-balanced, and consistently excellent dish. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and expertly prepared, with generous portions. The cuisine is simple and effective, but always with a little twist that makes all the difference. The setting is pleasant, and the service is charming and very attentive. The restaurant also has a terrace for sunny days, as well as a small private room, ideal for a business lunch or a group gathering. In short, a very good, reliable, and high-quality lunch spot where you can enjoy delicious food in a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

16/04/2026: We came for lunch. If you like wine, this place is perfect for you. There wasn't a huge menu, but it was very good.

14/12/2025: The fondue was a real treat, the wine selection was practically endless. One small suggestion: perhaps offer a Swiss fondue instead of a Savoyard one next time; personally, I find it even better! (But otherwise, it was fantastic!)

08/06/2026: A very warm welcome and a magnificent view of Lyon. Lunch was very good, beautifully presented. It's a shame we didn't fully understand what was being served. It's also a shame the table wasn't cleaned (bread crumbs, etc.) between courses, especially for a fine-dining restaurant. A thoughtful touch for my birthday.
