17/09/2024: Lots of products and choices, just a lot of waiting at the automatic checkout even though there are many

17/09/2024: Huge choice in this large Carrefour, a godsend. The shelves are always full and other world cultures are rather well represented with quite a few choices (Italy, Maghreb, Asia...). The checkouts are unfortunately rather slow with a huge number of people. The waiting time is extended whether in automatic or normal checkouts, which remains completely normal!

30/09/2024: This is the second time I come to this cafe. The first time I had a bad experience so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We arrived 40min before closing and sat at one of the tables. The main female waiter seemed super busy so we politely waited to be served. Nothing happened for 10min. I called the second waiter to tell her that we wanted to order and she said "ok", but no one came to our table. 10min passed and I decided to stand up to go to the comptoir to place my order. The woman at the bar told me they were closing (it was 20min before closing) and she wouldn't serve us. I had to tell her that we had been waiting for 20min and she said that she'd made an exception and -annoyed- she asked me what we wanted (she has the right to be annoyed, but HEY we've also been waiting for a while now!). I ordered 2 teas but she refused to serve us the tiramisu we wanted to try. We drank our teas and as people started to leave the waitress that I called to order, came and told us the museum was closing. We were almost done with the teas so we sped up a little. Later a man came and told us "The museum has been closed for 10 minutes already, we are close now" in an unpleasant tone. I said thank you, finished our teas, and left. My advice: The service industry is under tons of recruiting stress which is clearly the cause of their current service; so come to the garden with your snacks (the food is ok but the service makes you feel like you're an inconvenience) to enjoy the garden at your own peace. No need to spend energy ordering at the cafe for now.

03/12/2024: I enjoy the Friday evenings with bachata lessons and the always welcoming and warm atmosphere. The cocktails are delicious and generous.

29/11/2024: The bouncers are still just as racist (yes I have to say the terms) I decided to go there anyway knowing that colleagues and dance partners were waiting for me but was rejected at the entrance for an evening with the dance group wasted, reminds me why I don't come out here anymore. Too bad for you!

26/11/2024: Franchement très décue. Le service était lent au point ou nous avons laissé tomber de prendre un dessert, le repas très médiocre. J'avais demandé une table spéciale car notre était pour un anniversaire - la table était avec une vue sur les toilettes. Merci. Repas VG ? Oui, on vous enlève les coquilles St Jacques du Risotto... ca ce n'est plus acceptable. Malheureusement décor refait - et à mon avis - horriblement bling. Je n'y retournerai pas.

19/11/2024: Malgré une réservation effectuée des mois à l'avance, notre groupe de 9 personnes a dû attendre longtemps pour que la commande soit prise, et les boissons ont également tardé à arriver. Les plats ont été servis avec des oublis, et l'ambiance, attendue animée, était calme en raison des changements internes ( pas été informé à l'avance!) La serveuse avait réponse à tout et nous a fait sentir sa tension , bien que nombreuses, n'étaient pas satisfaisantes et entraînaient des attentes supplémentaires. De plus, aucune attention particulière n'a été accordée pour l'anniversaire, ce qui a contribué à une expérience jugée inacceptable par rapport à la réservation et au prix.

29/09/2024: Very nice experience, Niko the server is in top form. He served us with responsiveness and humor. The dishes were very good and plentiful, we had a great time the day after the cooking. Very good truffle pizza!

15/09/2024: A super pleasant and friendly experience!! I rarely feel like I'm really being considered when I come to have a drink in good company in a place like a bar, but the Café du Gros Caillou has changed that! Helena and Vincent (the bartender) gave me a pleasant evening, are very efficient and professional with very good customer contact and make me want to come back to this friendly, well-located and warm place. I highly recommend it!

17/12/2024: Very pretty “old-fashioned” café, beautiful decor. In summer, small terrace. All overlooking Place Bellecour, giving life to a rather quiet side of the square.

17/12/2024: Racist rude staff, we were greeted at the door by a man who mentioned lunch? We replied yes and he immediately changed his attitude towards us once he realised we were English and told us were not serving just yet. So we asked to have a coffee while we wait. The man then told us they aren't serving coffee to us even though they was plenty of room and lots of people already drinking coffee. He made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted for being English

22/09/2024: Restaurant to avoid! Number of places totally disproportionate to the capacities of the kitchen. Servers overwhelmed and on top of each other. A lot of waiting and the 2 starters arrived at the same time as the dishes. Then, a wait of more than 30 minutes before the last 2 dishes arrived... the others had finished eating. We ended up paying without eating the dish. Finally, a bottle of wine for 7 euros sold for 48 euros.

22/09/2024: €25 for the starter-main course “menu” – that’s it. Expensive for... meh...: At the same price you can find better, more typical, something to enjoy more, in Lyon; for the same thing on the plate, we expect to pay less. It's better to try something else, all that's left is the memory that it wasn't worth it.

27/09/2024: Ugh... Rather mixed reception, you have the impression of entering a very cold jewelry store. Tickets to go to the cash register... Anyway...meh.

26/09/2024: The salespeople are friendly, the cashiers less so…. And there’s a bit of a stuffy atmosphere…. But the quality of the products is completely up to the prices displayed.

10/08/2024: Disappointed! Apart from the welcome and the beautiful interior of the brasserie, the rest needs to be completely revised. The value for money is catastrophic, I chose the dish of the day at €15.50 and I only ended up with a burrata placed on olive oil with 5 slices of bland tomatoes. A shame. At this price we expect to find crushed yellow tomatoes, pine nuts, Italian ham and breadsticks. Shocked... I don't recommend.

22/06/2024: We had a nice time this afternoon. Very good cuisine, all homemade with fresh produce. The prices are a little high but the quantity and quality is there.

05/12/2024: Overpriced sandwich and no toppings in it is rubbish!!!

12/11/2024: Bakery where the bread and sandwiches are good and well made. There is a large choice and something for everyone. I recommend the pastries which are excellent.

21/09/2024: I didn't think I'd have to leave a review for a local bar but please let's talk! Let's start with the positive: a really cool pub-effect decor, good rock sound as we like in this kind of place, really adorable waiters/bartenders who know their job, always there to advise you, a little touch of humor and a smile guaranteed (small dedication to the waitress with the tattoos on her arm). On the other hand, I didn't really understand the usefulness of the gentleman who seems to be a bouncer at first glance, sitting all evening or almost on a chair at the entrance to the bar, on his phone. I want to talk about him because unlike the rest of the team, not a single smile on his face to stare at and stare at the customers there are people there! Who is this guy? I almost asked him if he wanted the reference of my underwear because apparently he was looking for them… I come to this awesome bar regularly but having such a rude character here is really chilling.

20/09/2024: The establishment is really nice, the staff is dynamic but the oldest waiter would be more efficient if he served as much as he is on his phone, is he the bouncer or an employee?!?
