17/10/2025: A beautiful, simple, and welcoming place in the heart of old Cuiseaux on the church square. It offers feminine and refined local cuisine. The table is well-dressed with beautiful dishes and glasses. The house peach-based aperitif is delicious. There are several set menus to choose from or à la carte, and a daily special made with fresh, local products. A lovely wine list. The next time I'm in Bresse, I'll happily repeat this wonderful gourmet experience. A warm and pleasant welcome. The young chef visits her customers at the end of the service. Thank you for this wonderful connection and this wonderful moment of sharing.

02/11/2025: Another visit and dinner for four, once again warmly welcomed by Nadine. The eggs meurette and the Paris-Brest Franc-Comtois were delicious, followed by wild boar or a ballotine of guinea fowl with snails and fig tart or quince tatin. 20/12/2025: A charming hotel in the heart of Mercurey. A warm welcome, an immaculate room, and a delicious breakfast.

22/10/2025: We were passing through from Germany to Provence and planned to stay overnight at Mercurey (AirBNB). We happened upon the Hotellerie Val d'Or and stopped in for dinner. Luckily, we were early and got a table, as almost all the tables in the restaurant were reserved. The service was very attentive and prompt, the dishes delicious, and the wine selection outstanding. The cuisine was regional and seasonal and very accommodating to allergies and special requests. We felt completely at home and will stay at the Hotellerie du Val d'Or next time.

01/12/2025: Five of us, we ordered the most expensive menu, 40 euros. Having extra charges for the frogs' legs is already outrageous, okay, fine, we were expecting something amazing. What a disappointment! The frogs' legs were covered in parsley, the butter was burnt, and many were missing legs? Apparently, it was the same at the table behind us, but they didn't dare say anything. The frogs' legs in cream sauce had a strange taste. In short, three plates were impossible to eat. On the other hand, the chicken in cream sauce with morels, which was an extra charge, was excellent. Just an off day? Or not? The three frogs' legs were indeed removed from the bill, but the rest were charged à la carte. So, the bill still came to 197 euros. I'm not one to post fake reviews, sorry.

01/11/2025: Well, for my first visit I was disappointed: the galette was mediocre in terms of taste and the wine, supposedly from the Rhône Valley, was utter rubbish. I'll never be back.

A huge thank you for the eggs meurette—they were divine! The chicken with crayfish and the pavlova were also very good. The owners were also incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive.
