20/12/2025: A charming hotel in the heart of Mercurey. A warm welcome, an immaculate room, and a delicious breakfast.

22/10/2025: We were passing through from Germany to Provence and planned to stay overnight at Mercurey (AirBNB). We happened upon the Hotellerie Val d'Or and stopped in for dinner. Luckily, we were early and got a table, as almost all the tables in the restaurant were reserved. The service was very attentive and prompt, the dishes delicious, and the wine selection outstanding. The cuisine was regional and seasonal and very accommodating to allergies and special requests. We felt completely at home and will stay at the Hotellerie du Val d'Or next time.

The staff is very attentive, helpful, funny, and friendly. The chef even went so far as to bring home my requested digestif from his own private stock – AWESOME! 27/12/2025: Passing through Chalon-sur-Saône, we discovered this restaurant thanks to a friend's recommendation. We had come for just a drink, but thanks to Carl's exceptional welcome, we ended up spending the whole evening there! We enjoyed the famous homemade Burgundy snails, as well as the gratin bourguignon and tagliatelle with morels... everything was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable, very professional, and warm. An exceptional experience we won't forget!

The table is well-dressed with beautiful dishes and glasses. The house peach-based aperitif is delicious. There are several set menus to choose from or à la carte, and a daily special made with fresh, local products. A lovely wine list. The next time I'm in Bresse, I'll happily repeat this wonderful gourmet experience. A warm and pleasant welcome. The young chef visits her customers at the end of the service. The staff was efficient and professional, and the food was delicious. The service was well-organized. The photos of the dishes accurately reflect what's on the restaurant's website. A great place to remember.
