But when I ask to pay with a restaurant voucher card, the person says yes, only to then do something to make it not work… it's totally ridiculous… and tells me it's my card that's malfunctioning, even though 10 minutes later I paid for ice cream with it… Okay, but not very honest!

13/05/2026: Bocca a Bocca will leave us with a wonderful culinary memory of our weekend in Bordeaux. The cuisine is refined, generous, and homemade, prepared with flavorful ingredients. You can feel a genuine commitment to offering delicious, well-executed dishes. Doing things well seems to be the philosophy of the owners. The white wine was perfect with what we had the pleasure of tasting. A place for epicureans who also appreciate simplicity. And to address a previous review: the tiramisu was perfect.

22/05/2026: We'd been there a few months earlier; there were notices at reception saying the heating was broken, and yesterday there was a sign saying service might be disrupted due to staff shortages... The waitress spilled a tray of drinks on our neighbors, there was broken glass on the floor and liquid everywhere... Yes, being a waiter is a profession, but these days everyone's just winging it... Anyway, the meat was tough, the fries were tiny portions (I didn't even ask if we were having a good time), there was only one toilet for everyone with a sink inside, and the door was filthy, and there wasn't another sink. We didn't say a word. In short, that was the last time 😬

17/05/2026: Very good food! Would recommend! Confit du Canard and bouef bourguignon were our favourites - super tasty and tender. Onion soup was good, but nothing special, mostly considering the price. Overall would recommend and come back!

17/05/2026: Absolutely awful experience. We ordered the French onion soup and it arrived in a huge pot that was barely 1/4 full. That should have been the first warning sign. After our entrees, we sat there for OVER AN HOUR waiting for our main courses while our waiter completely ignored us. He spent all his time with other tables while we were left sitting there wondering where our food was. As two small girls, it honestly felt like we were easy to dismiss and not worth paying attention to. We felt completely disrespected. The worst part was when the waiter finally came back to our table, he asked if we wanted dessert or coffee — completely forgetting that our main meals had NEVER EVEN ARRIVED. When we went to pay, they were still ready to charge us for the mains we never received. No apology, no accountability, nothing. That level of incompetence is unbelievable. We also noticed a couple seated next to us leave because it took so long just to get menus. Clearly we were not the only people having a horrible experience. I genuinely do not understand how this place has such a high rating. One of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. So many better places in Bordeaux with excellent food and service. Do not recommend.

07/06/2026: Yesterday I spent an evening with my girlfriends at Villa Tourny. What a disappointment! We arrived at 8:45 pm, and 30 minutes later, there was no waiter to take our order. No bottle of water or bread basket to tide us over... I finally flagged down the waiter to place our order. We ordered a bottle of champagne, which he brought, and then informed us that he was out of champagne glasses and offered to serve it in water glasses. I thought it was a joke... But no, it wasn't... So I asked for wine glasses instead. We also ordered platters, including a platter of Bellota ham. He didn't take any notes... As a result, he arrived with things we hadn't ordered, and some of the platters we had ordered were missing... Instead of Bellota ham, he brought us Serrano ham without saying a word... Perhaps thinking we wouldn't notice! The atmosphere wasn't great. Very disappointed; Villa Tourny isn't what it used to be... It's completely overrated now! However, if there's one thing that hasn't changed, it's the prices... Disappointing!

07/06/2026: The terrace was very noisy due to the music blaring from the amplifier outside; it was impossible to have a quiet conversation, even though it was only 6 pm. As for the bar, the service was impeccable, but I'm still looking for the rum in the €12 Mojito... same for the Lillet Spritz! A very nice place, but the value for money just doesn't justify it... or rather, it no longer does!

08/06/2026: Good evening, I'm only giving 4 stars because it's my first time here, but what a shame! Why? The chicken... very, very good. No complaints there... but why not have the offal with it? The neck, the head (well, that's just me), but honestly, it was so good I would have enjoyed it even more with all of that. I noticed you haven't responded to any of your reviews, but thank you for making the effort to reply. Otherwise, the service was perfect... so put that in the chicken and I'll rave about it for ages.

19/05/2026: This is a wonderful shop: you want to buy everything because the quality is so high! Latest discovery: the wild boar ham! It's delicate, flavorful, not too salty—a delight! Well done, gentlemen!

24/05/2026: I think this is the most touristy street and restaurant during my visit to Bordeaux, but the ambience was nice, the food good and the server very nice and helpful. The dinner was quite fast compared to the other experiences we have had, hence the lower score.

23/05/2026: I booked for 9:00. We sat down at 9:15. They lost our order and we finished at 11:15. There's a palpable lack of control among the waiters and in the kitchen. Not even an apology. It was incredibly hot, with no air conditioning. The dishes were bland and poorly cooked, with only the volute being decent. The Thai was overcooked; I wouldn't even give it to my dog. The Onglet was perfect for injuring someone. The chef's coffee dessert was only good for the coffee itself. If you want to ruin your day, this is the place for you.

05/06/2026: An authentic place, the likes of which are becoming increasingly rare. Here, genuine people gather over a drink, a good meal, and heartfelt conversation. No pretense, just a warm atmosphere, friendly people, and the spirit of the Chartrons district. A place that has kept its soul.

01/06/2026: The starters and pizzas were very good, with reasonable prices. However, the service was disappointing. The servers seemed disorganized even though the restaurant was far from full. Several things were forgotten during the meal, we had to ask for certain items repeatedly, and the wait was quite long. A few details also contributed to a bad impression: the beer glass was chipped and the "Reserved" sign was particularly dirty. It's a shame, because the quality of the food was excellent.

26/04/2026: I was incredibly disappointed. Whenever I'm in Bordeaux, I go to Noailles twice. This time I made a reservation for lunch. But the restaurant was closed. There was an apology sign on the door explaining that something serious had happened. That was all. I had a lot of trouble finding a decent restaurant nearby—which is practically nonexistent in that part of Bordeaux—and ended up with an unpleasant lunch in a tourist trap. It's a real shame. I hope Noailles reopens.
