Suitable for celiacs and children
07/12/2025: If you're celiac, don't go. We ordered gluten-free cookies, but there was cross-contamination (probably because everything is cooked in the same place), and the person with celiac disease had a terrible reaction. The food contains traces of gluten (even though they claim it doesn't). With how difficult it is to find gluten-free places... the few that exist don't do it properly.

Helpful, smiling and available staff.
The dishes are very good, simple and fresh.
Lots of choice, there is a nice variety of cheese and desserts. Crêpes, cookies and cannelés for the most gourmet as well as tiramisu and homemade cheesecake.
Possibility to drink wine on request.
Great all-you-can-eat brunch

The service was fast and impeccable, the value for money is great, and the products offered are fresh and seasonal.
A real treat for the taste buds!

16/12/2024: Passing through the city center and in front of Le Bistrot des Grands Hommes, the dish of the day tempts us.
The room is full, so we have a drink on the outdoor terrace while a table becomes available.
Beautiful flank steak with pepper sauce, homemade fries + bowl of salad for €14. Honestly, the quality/price ratio is unbeatable.
A rum baba for dessert which, as we were told when ordering, is not really one since it is made on the basis of the financiers they make to serve with the coffees. Well soaked, this dessert is very good. Rum baba-style financier.
Everything is homemade, the welcome and the service are perfect.
12/12/2024: I think the bistrot des grands hommes is one of the best coffees in Bordeaux.
It has recently been completely renovated with taste and very high quality.
The sound and musical ambiance is perfect.
The server Loïc is incredibly helpful and friendly.
The room and the terrace are both very pleasant.
The coffee is good. The espresso and the long coffee are both charged at €2.20, the same price as the other cafés on the square, with the exception of another which charges them at €2.50.
Coffee is served with a delicious homemade financier.
A truly perfect moment.

Knife tartare with perfect seasoning with homemade fries 👌 a croque madame to devour without moderation, a just perfect fondant, so don't hesitate 👌👌👌 looking forward to coming back....
20/09/2024: Very nice surprise with the starter, main course and dessert formula for 19 euros. No waiting between courses and intelligent choice of ingredients.

29/09/2024: A totally unexpected surprise. We thought we were going to a sushi restaurant, but instead we were treated to a fun way to blindly experience Japanese cuisine. We told the waiter what we like and don’t like and after that they brought out each course blindly, and we had to guess what it was. The food was exceptional and it was such a unique and fun experience. So much fun!!

Oh dear. Overly sensitive owners who don't like criticism?
Asked on the evening if we were happy and took great offense when we said no!
We were spoken to rudely and told they were "very busy"... Would we like to help??
I have eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants in several countries over the years and am very aware of what quality is.
This place is not.
Owners think they are something special but they are not. Barely average food , uncomfortable premises, VERY poor service from people who really should not be working in hospitality.
I stand by my comments.
Service slow. 2 hours for service.
Poor.
Dissatisfied.
Disappointed.

21/08/2024: We had a positive experience at the restaurant, where we were well received by the smiling staff. We ordered the "Amour Amour" menu for two and in the end we were both satisfied. The salmon is fresh, and the sushi very well served. I would like to leave a small comment regarding the miso soup, which although tasty was a little too salty, but apart from that everything was very good. We will come back!
