27/08/2024: I was looking for a nice and not too expensive place for the 2 children (8 and 16 years old) and myself. Quick booking at 12:15 p.m., arrival at 12:25 p.m. Warm welcome from the owner, then more abruptly from the big waiter. Order placed at 12:30 p.m., dishes arrived at 1:15 p.m. even though there were only 3 tables when we arrived. In the meantime the inn fills up and we see other tables receiving their starters. So far nothing unusual except that we also see other tables arriving after us receiving their dishes... the waiter finally brings us 1 duck breast, 1 melon salad and a sweetbread. I was surprised that we didn't ask for the duck breast to be cooked, but let's move on... the orange duck breast is OK but ordinary, the melon salad is hearty. The sweetbread… mush. No hold, product certainly defrosted in the microwave given how it disintegrated. All bathed in a very average mushroom sauce. I immediately put my “all duck” in motion, I pointed out that we had taken everything a la carte off the menu. The whole duck arrives: half a medium-rare breast, half a confit, no crispy skin, no taste, as bland as possible and dry... and 2 poor fillets marked on the grill. So we're not in Sarlat but still. Having tasted my daughter's duck breast, the product is of good quality but really poorly cooked. Damage. As for the service, we really had the impression of annoying the waiter who grumbled as soon as a customer entered the room. In short, disappointed… Take back the staff boss, a hostel should be a friendly place where you feel good to eat properly.

A customer is a customer. If your only goal is to create a capitalist money factory by filling each table with as many people as possible, you should review your popular "etiquette".

Des amuse-bouche très subtils, aux plats qui s'enchainent dans un tourbillon de saveurs, une cuisson parfaite de la truite et du caneton, des accompagnements de saison délicieux et surtout des sauces qui sont exceptionnelles! N'oublions pas le dessert autour de la poire, vous l'avez compris, c'était divin! , Madame vous présente tous les plats en vous précisant la provenance des produits, c'est génial ! Un étoilé méritant et qui est en cuisine ! Bravo à lui! Une fabuleuse carte des vins bien étoffée à tous les prix dont on retrouve des flacons très abordables dont un délicieux Vouvray sec à moins de 35 €!! Une étoile tout à fait méritée. Encore un grand merci à ce couple de jeunes pour nous avoir fait découvrir votre univers, nous reviendrons, c'est certain!

03/08/2024: Very good experience in a village full of charm, like the restaurant. The dishes are generally excellent and the wine list will make your head spin! The quantity, which is sometimes a downside in starred restaurants, was more than satisfactory (full without the cheese option), the homemade bread delicious. Maybe a bit of a wait between courses.

18/07/2024: Worth the detour, even from the highway! Honestly, do like us and base yourself on the comments... Excellent value for money (lunch menus for less than 12, 14 and 16€! - excluding drinks of course - Friendly welcome, food, dishes... a very good time to break our route. Homemade fries: you can see it and you can taste it! But not just the fries... We ate Toulouse sausage, duck heart with parsley... 👍 For €2 more in the formula, you have an excellent gourmet coffee...and the coffee was perfect for my taste. We will surely come back even if we live 600 km away and we encourage you to try it too... In short, we recommend without reservation!
