23/08/2026: A disappointing experience due to a lack of transparency on the menu. The beer advertised as "bottled" was served in a can. Furthermore, there was no indication that the daily menu was limited to two courses, even though three choices were presented. These inaccuracies spoiled the meal, which is a real shame. What the regulations say in France: Beverages: The decree of March 27, 1987, concerning price displays in restaurants, requires that the exact volume and packaging of beverages be stated. Serving a can instead of the advertised bottle constitutes misleading information. Set menus: The exact composition of set menus (starter/main course or main course/dessert) must be clearly indicated to the customer before ordering.

31/07/2026: As a top-tier Google Guide, I highly recommend this place – it's a brilliant spot on the Cherbourg gastronomic map! We arrived here, exhausted after a long drive, just before closing, around 9:00 PM, and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was exceptionally tasty, hot, and above all, perfectly fresh, which is not at all typical for buffets at this time of day. The salmon deserves a special mention – it was prepared perfectly, melting in your mouth. The sweets and desserts section also maintains a very high standard. The overall value for money was excellent – ​​a full set and an excellent selection of dishes for around 20 euros per person. The only minor downside was the Chinese beer, which wasn't quite to my taste, but the rest of the food completely compensated for that. Clean, efficient, and very tasty. Definitely worth stopping in for a hearty meal!

29/08/2026: The Roquefort pizza was disappointing: instead of the advertised cream base, we were given a tomato base. The Roquefort cheese was nowhere to be seen; the tomatoes were roughly chopped and tasteless, and the pizza dough was as thin as a cigarette paper. The toppings didn't even stay on it. And it was very expensive for a medium pizza that was the same size as the small one my partner ordered. I don't recommend it, and I certainly won't be going back.

30/09/2026: I went to McDonald's to charge my electric car. The charging station is great: I plug it in, choose my food, pay, and my car charges quietly. During that half hour, I thought, "Hey, I'll take advantage of this to grab a bite to eat." And then, disaster struck. I found myself in front of an electronic machine with tons of pictures, buttons, menus, submenus… I looked at the screen. The screen looked back at me. After five minutes, I realized something crucial: my car knew how to charge itself, but I, clearly, wasn't capable of feeding myself. So I left without a hamburger, but with 80% battery. In the end, I don't know if I managed to charge my car… or if McDonald's won. 😂

29/09/2026: We've gotten into the habit over the years of checking the bag to make sure nothing's missing... Now we have to check if the quantities are correct? At almost €5 a popsicle, is that normal? It's not the first time... At the drive-thru, we're not going to make an extra trip back and forth when we find at home that two-thirds of the ice cream is missing. I worked there when I was a student; I know it's simply a lack of effort and professionalism... it's appalling...

14/10/2026: An experience I won't be repeating anytime soon! I came to eat at this buffet and, honestly, I felt like I was participating in a rather unusual culinary experiment. 🤣 While eating the shrimp, I had the unpleasant surprise of finding a hair in my dish. Perhaps I've discovered a new species of black-haired shrimp! 😂🦐 But the surprises didn't end there. I also tried several other meats, and the chicken had a very acidic taste, which made me think it wasn't fresh anymore. I didn't want to take any chances and decided not to eat any more. As if that wasn't enough, with three hours still left before closing time, an employee seemed so eager for us to leave that she almost swept my feet. A truly warm welcome, indeed! 🙃 In addition to that, I noticed a kitchen employee regularly checking the dishes while scratching his arm, right near the food. The hair found in the shrimp made me seriously question their adherence to hygiene standards. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing in terms of the food, the service, and the apparent hygiene. I do not recommend this establishment and I certainly won't be returning. I came to eat, not to participate in a treasure hunt on my plate! 🦐😂

06/10/2026: They offer diverse food options, including a few options for vegetarians (vegetable stir fry for example, as well as various fruits). They have diverse beef, pork, chicken, duck, and seafood options, including sushi. Also they have lots of desserts. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Merci!

16/09/2026: It's geared towards tourists. The food and coffee were good. Friendly staff.

10/08/2026: What a disappointment. The sandwiches are tiny; on the plus side, the bread is good. There's practically nothing to eat in the Caesar salad. 25 euros for two set menus and we were left wanting more. The service was very good.

20/08/2026: Simple but excellent cuisine. Good ingredients.

20/08/2026: After booking our table, we waited an hour and a half. The owner is completely overwhelmed! The herring salad had so little herring that it was practically invisible on the plate. The dessert was not fresh at all. Avoid this restaurant.

06/09/2026: Blonde beer is 5 quid which is good value for round here I’d say. Wouldn’t bother with the Guinness. Very helpful staff who were willing to try and get Katie Taylor fight on the TV despite the difficulty. Very generous to try and accommodate. Good TVs. Darts as well. You can try play the bar man for money and he’s no great shake. Nothing else to be doing in Cherbourg anyway.

10/06/2026: May have been an Irish bar in the past, alas nothing Irish about the place now. Guinness does not an Irish bar make...!!!

20/09/2026: What a disappointment to return to this restaurant after a very good first experience. The service was interminable, the starter was missing ingredients, the main course was swimming in sauce, the dessert was terrible (the popcorn was completely soggy at the bottom), and the portion was tiny. I was truly disappointed with this meal.

10/09/2026: I stumbled upon it by chance and it was a superb discovery.

15/08/2026: Very good bar, Petula is welcoming and always available. She'll even take your tobacco orders if you're a regular.

26/07/2026: The name of the tobacco shop, "Le Calvaire" (The Calvary), is truly fitting... They're just like the previous owners; they've all gotten together! Don't hesitate to walk right past them.

04/09/2026: Well...it's okay for one night, the house and room are quite old, breakfast is okay for the price.

08/08/2026: Communication problems (only via SMS) Unable to contact the establishment Reservation confirmation requested approximately ten days prior. Never received. No room available for that evening.
