Simple but very good cuisine. Beautiful presentation, quick, efficient, and professional service.
It's a shame the inn is closing due to retirement 😭
Go before it closes for good
20/08/2025: We were looking for a place to eat in Baiona in August, away from the most touristy area and with quality French food. They have several menu options at different price points. We chose two starters, a main course, and dessert. The portions were quite generous and very reasonably priced. We ordered the egg with a touch of truffle, the foie gras taco with red berries, and the quasi du veau with potatoes for our main course. Everything was delicious. To finish, we had the house specialty soufflé. With a bottle of wine for around €28, we got a very good price per person considering the amount. The place has several rooms and the atmosphere is quiet. We made a reservation even though it wasn't very busy. The service was friendly and good.

25/10/2024: Il faut avoir goûté au moins une fois dans sa vie la palombe aux deux cuissons ( rôtie et en salmi) du Bayonnais!! Pour ma part cela fait 20 ans que je sacrifie à ce rituel et je trouve que le chef se bonifie année après année !!
Un grand moment : cette année nous avons pu l’accompagner d’une poêlée de cèpes. Arrosé d’un petit Graves on atteint la perfection, cela vaut pour moi tous les 3* de la terre , sans parler de l’addition, vraiment raisonnable !!
Je recommande vraiment à tout gourmet digne de ce nom !!
14/09/2024: Excellent food. Sublime melon gazpacho, delicious veal axoa, and exquisite peach crumble.
Generous portions.
The only downside is that the staff seems understaffed.

07/03/2025: Monsieur took the time to tell me about the origins and particularities of the chocolates, made me taste a few while explaining to me how to do it...all that was missing was a good red wine on top!
As expected, my husband ate a whole bar this evening, upon my return to Normandy, and he is very happy with his souvenir gifts! I think he will want to come with me next time and also choose some good chocolate :) thank you

06/12/2025: To begin with, it took them 45 minutes to take our order. Another 30 minutes until they served our food. I ordered the suckling pig, €19.50 for a tiny piece. They must have thought I wasn't very hungry, because the guy at the next table ordered the same thing and got a normal-sized plate. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye steak, €21. Whether it was actually beef would have to be checked; it certainly didn't seem like it, and it was very tough. They cleared our plates but couldn't even take our dessert order. Another 20 minutes before we finally managed to order. Anyway, I don't recommend it.
05/12/2025: The food was excellent and delicious, the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. It was already closing time, but they still served us very quickly. I definitely recommend it.

29/12/2024: Shamefully mediocre.
12:30 p.m. order 2 confits and homemade fries.
The confits arrive overcooked, very poor quality, the fries are overcooked and frozen.
The atmosphere is torn apart between owners and waiters, the owner shakes her head as soon as their backs are turned.
The waiters mislead the customers but no one is fooled.
Here we don't come to the restaurant, we fill up quickly to quickly leave.
Go elsewhere.... it will definitely be better.

07/12/2025: It seems they don't accept Spaniards. Two Spanish families were asked to leave two empty tables without explanation, as if the manager didn't want us to sit down. And as soon as we got up, two French women sat down and were served... Surreal.
07/12/2025: Horrible experience. Unpleasant owner who refused to let us sit down at a table to have a coffee- without any justification or reason. The waitress told us that we couldn’t sit down and it was because the owner said we weren’t allowed (we presume it was because we were foreign ) such a shame as we’re in bayonne on tourism and we’ll be leaving with a bitter feeling because of this owner.

En plus demander un règlement avant avoir était servi je trouve cela très incorrecte.
