08/10/2026: The welcome and service were excellent, the staff very friendly. But it had been a very long time since I'd eaten so badly in a restaurant. I did have the set menu for €19.90, but that doesn't excuse not cooking the dishes properly to give them some flavor. The starter was a very ordinary rillettes; you could get better from the supermarket. My main course, pork spider steak, was far too fatty for my taste, accompanied by equally greasy fries. For dessert, the peach verrine was tasteless, probably the cheapest option; only the accompanying biscuit was very good. In short, I don't recommend it and I won't be going back. Sorry.

07/09/2026: Honestly, I love Kalostrape! It's the first restaurant I've recommended to my friends. I'm leaving this review with the intention of improving the place, because on our last visit we were really disappointed… I hope the managers, or I believe AEK, will take action! What's going on? It took us 45 minutes to get the menu (the menu was on the table). The service was interminable… we arrived at noon, paid at 3:30 PM, without even being able to order dessert… A friend had an hour and a half to eat because she had to go back to work afterward. Finally, since we still hadn't received the menu after 45 minutes… we asked a waiter what we could get for her in 45 minutes. They started telling us it wouldn't be possible, but when we insisted that we could get a main course in an hour and a half, they finally managed to get her some tapas in time! Thank you for her… even though she was disappointed by the quality of the tapas… it’s usually much better… For my part, the meal with the set menu was good, simple local produce, and effective! Very good value for money! So, we arrived to pay 3.5 hours later without having been able to order the desserts from our set menus. They made a mess of things to remove the price of the desserts from the menu… or rather, none of the dishes listed on the order form corresponded to reality. Well, we trusted them, and you can trust them too; the price corresponded to the set menu minus the desserts, approximately. Honestly, having to make such a mess of things… at the bar, at the till, he seemed completely lost and a bit out of it. As for the service, I got the impression that nobody cared! I don't recognize Kalostrape! And I'm leaving this comment because other acquaintances told me that something similar happened recently, especially at the Bayonne Festival. I truly hope you will find a united team again, one that takes what it does to heart! And efficient! Like I knew it!

22/08/2026: Last week I bought a citrus Basque cake, what a disappointment! The cream was practically nonexistent and the citrus marmalade was far too sweet. I thought I'd made the wrong choice. This morning I went back to the store to buy one with cream, as I remembered a very flavorful Basque cake, and there it was again, another disappointment: the cream was also practically nonexistent and very dense. It doesn't have the texture of the Basque cake from Pariès of yesteryear. What a shame!

09/10/2026: Lunch with colleagues, we had booked just in case, the set menu was excellent, the free-range chicken was nice and plump, and the raspberry dessert was very light, a perfect ending to the meal. Special mention goes to the "7-tier salad" starter, presented with originality. The service was quick and friendly from the staff. 👍👍

12/10/2026: An absolute must-visit in Bayonne! A hidden gem tucked away at the foot of the Old Castle. Everything is perfect: the specialty coffee is excellent, and the brunch/lunch options are a delight. You can immediately taste the freshness of the local produce and the homemade quality in every dish (we especially loved their pastries!). The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, the decor is stylish, and the staff is very welcoming. Just be sure to arrive early, as the place is very popular, but it's well worth the wait. Go without hesitation!

01/09/2026: We had a wonderful lunch at Le Belzunce today. Very friendly and attentive service. We ordered one Moules Frites and one Salade Chipirónes, and shared Île Flottante for dessert. Delicious food, fair prices. Highly recommended!

15/10/2026: The service was terrible. We waited half an hour to order, and when we finally ordered food, two of the four items we wanted were unavailable. We asked for a minute to look at the menu again and find alternatives. That minute we spent deciding turned into 20 minutes with the waiter pretending not to notice us so he wouldn't have to serve us again. Finally, another waitress came and told us the kitchen was closed.
