15/02/2026: My friend and I came here on the recommendation of another restaurant owner. We had a wonderful time thanks to the young couple who run the restaurant. The service was perfect and the food was excellent; we didn't even have time to take pictures of our dishes. We'll be back!
14/12/2025: First time at this new restaurant. A very warm welcome, high-quality cuisine with wonderful flavors.
A minor criticism: the menu is a bit short, but more importantly, the portions are too small—they look like appetizers… we're in a country known for its delicious food and convivial atmosphere, so a bit more substance is needed. But kudos to the young owners, who have so much potential.

17/02/2026: The welcome from the manager (in theory) was excellent, with smiles and pleasant words right from the start. The service team was just as welcoming! The food was plentiful and delicious. The starter, a perfect egg on a bed of mushrooms and chicken, was wonderful. We continued with baby squid with crispy belly and new potatoes—a real treat! No dessert, although they looked delicious! The relaxed atmosphere, both among the staff and the customers, is a big plus!

25/01/2026: We received a very warm welcome at Gilles's place after the Bayonne/Castres match. They went out of their way to find us a table, even though there were 11 of us and everywhere else was full. The entire team gave us a fantastic welcome. The service was quick, the food was all delicious, and we emptied every plate. The desserts were excellent too.
We will gladly return.

We received a very warm welcome from the staff, and the family suite was very spacious, clean, and quiet!
We will gladly return for another getaway, whether as a couple or with the family!
22/03/2026: Spending a weekend in historic Bayonne is the perfect place! A well-maintained and clean establishment with a friendly and professional staff. The food is excellent, the breakfast is varied and not "European"—it's full of regional products—and the coffee is good! Treat yourself and go! A beautiful city with a rich history and plenty of lovely streets to explore. For chocolate lovers, it's a haven for cocoa lovers! Park your car; everything is within walking distance of the hotel!

27/01/2026: Very nice, and close to the stadium, definitely worth a visit, we settled in for a long lunch prior to the rugby match. The staff were attentive, and didn't rush us at all. Place was full, so definitely need to book.

10/03/2026: We were greeted by Maud, a very pleasant and professional person. The service was perfect, the food was good—a real pleasure to eat in this lovely place.
The Courtepaille is very accessible from the A63 motorway.
We used to stop at the Courtepaille in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, but given the manager's welcome (avoid at all costs)…
