03/03/2026: The staff were very friendly, pleasant, and welcoming, and above all, very clean. They were closed, but the lady let me take a shower and they even prepared a meal for me to heat up that evening. Very rare these days! 👌 I highly recommend this restaurant.

03/05/2026: Hello, just a quick update: although it was listed as open when we called to make a reservation, we unfortunately got a voicemail explaining that the restaurant is closed due to retirement. I hope they quickly update the information and find a new owner to take over the restaurant soon.

29/04/2026: Passing through Avrillé for a week's holiday, we stopped by to try the pizzas and what a pleasant surprise! Friendly staff and very good pizza. I recommend it.

13/04/2026: Don't go there. I went three times, and guess what? I ended up incredibly sick each time. The man is quite nice, the young man is okay, but the woman is unpleasant and rude. Plus, they told me they had kebabs, but they didn't. Honestly, go to other snack bars nearby that are better.

11/01/2026: Sure, there aren't a million ingredients in the galettes and crêpes, but they're all high-quality, which is excellent! The welcome is always lovely and the service impeccable. It's a small place, so make a reservation; you won't be disappointed! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

28/03/2026: The €40 set menu (plus €4 for the ribeye steak) is disappointing compared to a gourmet restaurant in Bouin that charges the same price, and I expected much better. They should add more vegetables to the main course (ribeye and lamb shank). Don't forget to tell the chef that when you put flowers in a dish, you should inform the customer that they are not edible; it's a big mistake 😡. When we asked the waitress what variety of flowers we had just eaten, she came back and told us, "Don't eat them, they're not edible." Let's hope we don't get sick 🤒. The menus with a mixed menu are difficult to decipher. I'll end on a positive note regarding the welcome and service.

18/03/2026: Hello fellow internet users, I've been having lunch at this establishment quite regularly for a while now, and yet I hadn't really gotten around to posting a review. So, here's my oversight rectified. Friendly welcome with an efficient wait staff, so no time wasted. The dining room is large and bright. Again, no extensive menu, but a set menu that changes with the seasons, featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients. The prices are also attractive. Set menu: starter and main course: €12. Set menu: main course and dessert: €12. Set menu: starter, main course, and dessert: €14. The complete meal with coffee: €15.50. Good value for money. Good selection of beers 🍺 (in moderation, of course...). I recommend the Licorne Black, which is an amber beer. They also have a good abbey beer for beer lovers. In short, a great place to eat in the area. Go for it without hesitation; I sincerely think you won't be disappointed. Enjoy your meal, everyone! Thierry

28/03/2026: We're rarely disappointed by their sandwiches, so the 5 stars are mainly for the young woman who served us yesterday (March 27th at 3 pm) with kindness, a smile, and very clear explanations. Honestly, well done! 👏🏻

18/05/2026: Overall, a disappointment at this restaurant, which was once a local institution in Les Sables-d'Olonne until the change in management. The welcome was friendly, but it took 25 minutes for someone to come and take our aperitif order. Another 20 minutes for our main course order. A young woman saved the day with her friendliness, but overall the service seemed very amateurish. Thankfully, the dishes arrived fairly quickly. The menu made promises that weren't kept. We ordered gravlax salmon and spring rolls with duck breast. The result was unremarkable. We followed with confit leg of lamb with fruit, which was well-prepared but served with bland polenta, and then an octopus risotto with equally bland puréed rice. We gave up before dessert, after an hour and 50 minutes. What a shame!

29/04/2026: Disappointing family lunch. Not recommended. Having enjoyed the quality of the restaurant at the St. Gilles casino, I wanted to try the one at the JOA and was very disappointed. Several points are regrettable: Service: A minimalist welcome (industrial peanuts, refusal to change cutlery between courses). The waitresses seemed more eager to return to the reception desk to chat than to attend to customers. Only the managers' visits to the dining room raised the bar with their friendliness and presence. Food: Although the cooking was well done, the portions were far too small (child-sized). For this level of quality, the lack of homemade fries is unacceptable; it felt more like a "fast-food" assembly than a true chef's creation. You will find photos that require zooming in to make out the different elements. A first and last time for us.

16/05/2026: The restaurant was delicious; I really enjoyed the mussels, the portions were generous, and the salmon tagliatelle was delicious. Thank you so much for this meal. The servers were very pleasant and the service was excellent. I recommend this establishment.
