09/09/2024: Very good and refined cuisine. The servers are very friendly and smiling. If you are looking to eat on a shaded terrace, with lots of charm, in a street far from the usual hustle and bustle of the city, I recommend the cauldron.

01/09/2024: Our final evening in Carcassonne was dinner at the truly amazing Comte Roger. We started with a local cocktail of sparkling cremant with peach and apricot liqueur- superb! The foie gras starters of semi-cooked duck foie gras - with a mille-feuille of green apple, apricot, celery, dark chocolate chips and brioche for my wife and I had the most delicious tart tatin of pan-fried foie gras escalopes with caramelized apples with Muscat de St Jean de Minervois, golden sesame tuile and a tartine of Lairière goat’s cheese. The main courses were for me- Vol au vent by Comte Roger - Mussels, spinach, cuttlefish, velouté seasoned with local saffron, summer vegetables, Mediterranean sea bream fillet and peeled prawns. For Vicky it was- French veal tartare - seasoned by Compte Roger with artichoke, pine nuts, onion, chives, candied tomato, celery sticks and homemade potato churros. I also opted for a dessert- ‘The Triangle’- frozen parfait with muscat from Saint Jean de Minervois, Languedoc oreillette and seasonal fruit coulis. We ordered a bottle of my favourite Boutenac Cháteau Saint-Estèbe ‘Astreos’ 2019- a classic from my Great Horkesley Wine Centre days! Probably one of the best restaurants in which I have ever had the pleasure of dining in France.

28/08/2024: Quel plaisir de voir un serveur accueillant plein de bons conseils; un patron passionné par son métier et pour ses clients. Tatin de pommes aux foies gras poêlés et un cassoulet à tomber. Pour moi (pour en avoir testé plusieurs 😅) c’est tout simplement le meilleur que j’ai mangé avec du haut de cuisse de canard (et non du manchon..) et des haricots qui avaient été imprégnés de toutes les saveurs. On s’est tout simplement régalés! Ce n’était pas le but?!🤩

14/09/2024: The reception staff is very arrogant, the reception managers thought that we did not understand French and discussed our issue in a derogatory manner. We received a refusal to all our questions and only after persistent requests a solution was found. Also, they did not want to let us, hotel guests, onto the terrace, which the hotel shares with the restaurant. There was not a single person there, and we just wanted to seat in the fresh air before going to bed. In the rooms only paid water in the minibar, there is not even a small complimentary bottle, considering that there are no shops near the hotel. However, we liked the room itself

Following a gift from our children we had the opportunity to have lunch at Franck Putelat's table, it was a magical and unforgettable moment, a mixture of flavors and colors. A delicious meal, very beautiful presentation, tasty and delicate dishes. An exceptional table! Professionalism and kindness of the staff. We appreciated the arrival of the very approachable chef, a very friendly and warm little moment. We also warmly thank all the teams in the dining room and in the kitchen. Experience to be repeated. Continue like this!

07/09/2024: Precious. ♿ It has wide cobblestone streets and ramps. Except for the paid area (within the walls) where there are stairs, the rest can be enjoyed in a chair or with other disabilities. There are bathrooms before entering the castle on the left hand side for free but with stairs, and inside without stairs. Inside the fortress there are many souvenir shops, places to eat a crepe, ice cream or a menu or have a drink. The atmosphere is very calm, the castle is truly beautiful and very well preserved and you have parking 5 minutes away for €1/h the most expensive, or you can leave it in the surrounding area for free. We paid €3.5 to spend the entire afternoon watching it. Take photos from the bridge, the panoramic view is brutal. Highly recommended for couples, families, or alone. Amazing place!

27/08/2024: Lors d’un après-midi chaud à Carcassonne, on est tenté par la spécialité : le cassoulet! Tout d’abord, on est bien accueilli par un service pro et détendu, et quand on est face à ce fameux cassoulet, on en meurt d’envie ! Il est savoureux, la viande est parfaite et les quantités sont généreuses, peut-être un peu trop… La crème caramel est efficace mais reste simple, et le rapport qualité-prix est très correct. On recommande de vive voix "Au lard et au cochon".

Whether it's California rolls, salmon tartare, coleslaw, skewers, nothing to complain about, quality products straight from the kitchen. My daughter loves the idea of ​​dishes passing by on a conveyor belt, everyone enjoys what they like! And the mango for dessert, excellent, we ate there this evening and I would definitely go back!

17/09/2024: Restaurant en bas de la cité, loin de la foule. Accueil chaleureux et professionnel de la serveuse. Les plats sont cuisinés avec des produits frais, bien sûr le cassoulet et les autres plats. Je recommande.

05/09/2024: We ate a menu for 25 eur that includes bread as a starter, a main course and dessert, if only. You choose two courses, starter and main course or main course and dessert, it costs 20 eur, it doesn't include a drink but they give you a bottle of water. The food was good, elaborate dishes and of course they had the classic stew of the area.

04/09/2024: Une auberge ou l on ne perd pas de temps. Les plats sont bons et servis rapidement par Chritophe et Carole qui ne font pas de voyage a vide. Toujours avec le sourire. Bref j ai bien aimé mais pour les gourmands, preferez les plats a la carte qui sont nettement plus copieux (mais ca c est normal) Encore bravo a eux 2 et a leur cuistot.

04/09/2024: Nous sommes allé dans ce restaurant sur recommandation et nous aurions mieux fait de passer notre chemin!! Les prix sont très chers pour ce que c'est; la carte n'est pas exceptionnelle et certaines formulations sont tournées de façon à vous induire en erreur. Sur les 4 personnes nous avons toutes été malades alors que nous avions pris 4 plats différents; le foie gras n'est clairement pas maison et doit être de l'industriel bas de gamme (suinte; non dénervé; ne se tient pas...); et une vinaigrette ne se résume pas à mettre uniquement de l'huile sur une salade! Cette adresse est en résumé un attrape touriste qui donne en plus une très mauvaise image par rapport aux autres établissements qui font du qualitatif.

19/08/2024: Je ne comprends pas les bons commentaires/notes. Un déjeuner rapide en visitant Carcassonne. Mon fils a pris un menu enfant (steak haché / frites) qui devait être cuit à point et qui était pas cuit. Ai pris un burger, pareil. Pire, la viande avait un mauvais goût et n'est pas pour moi 100% boeuf Très mauvaise expérience

18/09/2024: A menu at 29.50 for starter, main course, dessert, our choice: foie gras, cassoulet, chocolate fondant..... to die for We do not regret this choice of restaurant, we were seated in the quiet garden, sheltered from traffic. Very pleasant welcome, smiling staff, efficient and fast.

17/09/2024: Authentic restaurant in the tourist trap that Carcassonne is unfortunately becoming more and more. Very friendly waiters who gave us a spacious table to sit quietly with our dog on the garden terrace under the trees. The 29.50 menu is excellent, with foie gras and gésiers salad as first course, homemade cassoulet with duck as mains. The portions are large, great wine at prices we can only dream of in Belgium.
