30/11/2025: Open even in winter, with a room, dinner, and breakfast for one person for €66. The welcome is warm. The cuisine features vegetables from the garden, for example. Homemade Black Forest cake; the bread isn't great, which is to be expected in a village of 200 inhabitants. The freezer is a must.

23/04/2026: Unpleasant service and a dishonest manager. Frankly, the meal wasn't too bad, but it's getting worse and worse. Before, salads and fries were unlimited, now it's all extra. It's become expensive for a piece of meat at €20 for the set menu, but the manager is unpleasant and the waiters are unfriendly and disagreeable.

15/04/2026: I came to try the "Bistro Regent" gourmet burger and goat cheese duo for €19.90. The menu clearly states "unlimited fries and salad." However, when I arrived, the manager refused to refill my salad, contradicting what was advertised. This is a shame, as it creates a misleading impression and lacks consistency with the advertised offer. I recommend that the restaurant clarify its signage or honor what is actually advertised. Too bad...

07/03/2026: This restaurant is Italian in name only. The decor is questionable, the staff unfriendly, and the food is extremely poor. The lasagna was swimming in cream (which is definitely not Italian) to the point of being inedible, and the side salad arrived without dressing. It was impossible to even get a vegetarian pizza "without mushrooms," clearly due to pre-prepared frozen ingredients. For a high price, the quality and service are unacceptable. A very disappointing experience—avoid it.

19/12/2025: Very disappointed for the price. It has no taste, it's bland, not good. I placed my order and the cashier on the phone ignored me. The toilets were dirty, nothing was right... avoid at all costs.

04/12/2025: First time, very disappointed. I won't be going back. Cheap for what it is, late delivery, arrived cold and it wasn't good, avoid the cheddar sauce. McDonald's is much better.

19/04/2026: A huge thank you to this amazing employee at the McDonald's in Valence for her kindness and generosity 🙏✨ My daughter dreamed of having her own Mario toy, but unfortunately, they were sold out. Without hesitation, this wonderful person went and got her own Mario toy to give to her and saw her smile ❤️ A simple gesture, but so touching, which shows that there are still truly kind and generous people out there. Thank you so much for your kindness and thoughtfulness; it really touched us 💛 Well done and thank you again to this amazing person!

19/04/2026: Visited on a very busy holiday weekend. The restaurant was overwhelmed but the staff stayed efficient and kind throughout. When a printer issue disrupted the ordering system, and with a language barrier on top of it, the team still managed to sort everything out and get us our food without any fuss. Great service under difficult circumstances.

05/05/2026: We had a fantastic experience at Auberge du Désert during our cycling trip. We had planned to stay at the municipal campsite, but after getting soaked all day in the rain, we preferred to take shelter in the dry. It was incredibly warm and welcoming, with a lovely fireplace and a very intimate atmosphere. The setting is truly charming, with the old-world charm beautifully renovated in the dining room, complete with its original fireplace. The food is excellent, with a small but delicious homemade menu. The rooms are comfortable, and the entire team is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend it!

01/05/2026: Disastrous management and contempt for the customer: avoid at all costs! As a cyclist on a tour, I had received a dinner confirmation. On the day itself, the hotel canceled and offered me an alternative 16 km away. Unable to make it, they offered me a plate of small pasta shells for €18. The manager justified this price by saying he had to call back an employee from vacation and that I had to, and I quote, pay his "social security contributions" (€16 for labor for a plate of pasta that the employee had brought from home!). This is absurd management where the customer pays for the boss's organizational errors. The room was mediocre with a strong musty smell (I was contemptuously told to open the window in response to my complaint). The cleaning was sloppy, and I found personal belongings of previous occupants in the closets. In response to my complaint sent by email (the employee on duty was lovely, and I didn't want to burden her with my remarks, which were more about the manager), the manager was arrogant and dishonest, believing that because I had chosen "the lowest rate" (still €83/night, mind you), I should just accept what I was given. In short: absolutely no sense of hospitality. If you're a cyclist or simply looking for a clean and honest place, look elsewhere. An establishment that passes the cost of its staffing problems on to its customers doesn't deserve to be in business.

21/04/2026: What happened to the unlimited vegetables???? In fact, there are no vegetables at all, and certainly not the green beans shown in the menu photos. The fries are cold and frankly not very appetizing, the vegetable purees are bland—in short, I don't recognize the Flunch spirit at all!!! It's a shame because the staff are quite friendly and smiling; that's the only positive point, sorry…

12/04/2026: We arrived at 1 p.m. at this Flunch restaurant, which is advertised as open until 3 p.m. We first took our children to the restroom, and as we were leaving, someone told us the restaurant was closed and we had to leave. They had closed in the meantime, and even though the dishes were still laid out and the self-service area was full, they wouldn't listen to reason, even though we were with children aged 2 and 6 and in the middle of a long trip. It's truly unbelievable to be treated like that!

08/09/2025: An excellent daily menu, a perfect welcome and service. We were served quickly because the storm was approaching and we had to take off again for Aix-en-Provence immediately. Thank you to all the staff for this excellent meal; we highly recommend this place. I came back a week later for lunch with my daughter, and we had a wonderful time. The pomegranate was delicious. 20/04/2026: €5 for a large café crème: when they told me the price, I nearly choked! It's highway robbery! In other cafés with terraces in Valence, you can get a large café crème and a pain au chocolat for €4.60! I won't be back anytime soon.

30/03/2026: What a disgrace!! I'm leaving this comment because of that awful woman who was there today!! Terrible reception!! Beyond the lack of professionalism, a little common courtesy and politeness wouldn't hurt the two people present today!! The boy is just... Polite, but you can tell he doesn't want to be there... At first, it's annoying... then you quickly understand his attitude when you see this woman talking so loudly to him, "Matias this, Matias that..." telling him he's a pain in the neck and that he absolutely isn't allowed to smoke cigarettes!! What kind of medieval policy is this?!? Seriously!!! We feel for this poor boy... This woman should get some training in customer service and management because absolutely nothing works in this place!! But above all, I don't understand how they can leave the reins of a business to this woman who has absolutely no respect for the customers and who has no business being there! Maybe she's the owner... if so, I pity the banker because even near the train station, it can only end in bankruptcy... The croissant was really bad, but that's not surprising given the overall experience! Oh yes, one last detail: they ask you if it's for here or to go, but it's pointless because in any case, they serve your coffee in a paper cup.... 16/01/2026: I bought a Nutella panini: it was left in the toaster, so it was overcooked, and when I opened it, I realized it was almost empty. €3.40 for stale bread is expensive. My train arrived, so I didn't have a chance to ask for a refund.
