13/11/2024: We live in Vence and only just discovered this gem of a restaurant. The food is delicious and home cooked. Staff is friendly and efficient. Recommend reservations as it gets very crowded at lunch.

21/08/2024: Arrivés à 13h avec le train le restaurant plein on nous a trouvé une table dans la salle du bar,et tant mieux ,entre les plats dignes de la vraie cuisine de l'arrière pays à quoi on a le droit de s'attendre dans la région (c'est de plus en plus rarement le cas) et un accueil adorable, nous ne pouvions que revenir le lendemain, profiter cette fois de la terrasse. Aussi bon que la veille, même accueil. A recommander si vous passez à Sospel. De plus le village est superbe, la place de la cathédrale est à couper le souffle, un décor de cinéma.

21/08/2024: Depuis 2 jours nous déjeunons ici au Bar de Rome....quel accueil formidable...ça devient tellement rare...de plus les plats sont du coin, et tous vraiment excellents.. Une tres bonne adresse àne pas louper si vous venez à Sospel....

05/08/2024: Despite not being mentioned in the GR5 guide at all, La Ferme Saint Bernard is a perfect break of the otherwise long stretch from Sospel to Menton (do not underestimate the long and rough descent to Menton!) and a great last stay in the mountains. It took us only 21 minutes to re-join the GR5 (at the large cow barn) uphill from La Ferme Saint Bernard (960 meters horizontally, +105 meters altitude) with large rucksacks. There is a small sign showing a shortcut to the reception from the road right after the first house after the hairpin turn of the road (43.82376, 7.50239) that saves you some distance. You can sleep in a decent dormitory (sheets and pillowcases supplied) or in your own tent. The nice hostess (Gerliane) serves nice local and homemade food, all drinks can be bought and there is also drinkable tapwater (the only secure location to get water between Sospel and Menton). Prices are very reasonable and there is a view to the sea from the terrace. We recommend it!

20/04/2024: Mistreated during the telephone reservation because we called "a little late" (the day before at 4 p.m. for 2 people!), to follow interrogation worse than at the border... Result: no longer want to have lunch in this discovery farm by chance while hiking

26/09/2024: The warm family restaurant offered tasty stuffed crepes and a wonderful seafood salad. We both ate tasty stuffed crepes and shared salad. We couldn't have taken more. The service and staff were great. We also got a tip for the shop we were looking for. The best place to eat on our visit.

09/06/2024: C'est criminel de faire des plats aussi bons ! Le boeuf Rossini était vraiment incroyable, le foie gras stupéfiant et je ne parle même pas de l'accompagnement avec des pdt grenaille et l'ail confit avec les lardons. Ce restaurant est digne d'un 4* et je suis fière de pouvoir manger aussi bien dans mon quartier. Merci au chef, à Thierry et toute l'équipe de nous faire rêver à chaque fois

09/10/2024: Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten , vond het wat duur , en we hadden niet opgelet !! Er was € 14 euro extra gerekend , waarvoor weet ik niet . Het is ons al keer gebeurd hier aan de haven , dat we ook geen wisselgeld terug kregen , ze nemen toeristen in de maling , en dat vind ik erg jammer

29/09/2024: Deilig mat, hyggelig betjening, god drikke, rikholdig nok meny, meget god beliggenhet. Menyplakat og skrevet meny utfylte hverandre, litt vanskelig for en som bare er halvstudert i fransk, men jeg må jo finne meg i at jeg faktisk er i Frankrike, så dette er bare en opplysning, representerer ikke noe trekk i vurderingen. Men noen store MEN. Selv om det er i en travel lunsjtid bør en restaurant med denne beliggenhet klare å betjene sine kunder i rimelig tid. Det skjedde ikke her. Vi fikk straks bord, i stekende sol, personalet kom raskt med en utmerket parasoll. Så ble det etter litt for lang tid tatt opp bestilling på drikke. Det varte og det rakk. Så ble drikke levert og ingen matbestilling tatt opp. Bestilt vann ble glemt. Så omsider fikk vi bestille maten, korteste ventetiden var faktisk på denne, men da var restauranten også i ferd med å tømmes for øvrige gjester. En etterbestilt vin kom straks, det samtidig (for annen gang) bestilte vannet uteble. Men 2 x vann kom på regningen. Selvsagt strøket ved betaling da det ble påpekt. Alt i alt: Hyggelig betjening som ikke maktet å holde tidsskjema eller rede på bestillingen. Dette trekker 2 stjerner. Det skal lite til for å få 4, ei heller er det langt opp til 5.

05/04/2024: Wir waren zu einem späten Mittagessen dort. Ein Platz auf einem Sofa in der Sonne, mit Blick auf den Hafen. Sehr netter Service, eine hausgemachte Limonade mit Orange und Sanddorn (üppig mit Früchten und geschätzt um einiges mehr als der angekündigte halbe Liter), Hummus mit Gurken- und Karottensticks sowie einer Schale aromatischer Kirschtomate, ein Avocado-Brot (bestimmt eine sehr große oder zwei kleinere) mit Feldsalat, Sprossen, Kürbiskernen. Nicht billig, aber Preis/Leistung stimmt.
