26/11/2025: Not easy to find if you're not from the area, but once you do, it's a fantastic discovery. A well-balanced menu, excellent value for money. Top-quality ingredients, everything is superb. And great cocktails! In short, we'll gladly return as soon as we're back in the area!

16/09/2024: We choose this restaurant for two reasons: it was reasonably close to our hotel and got good on-line reviews. The meal we had was possibly the best of our two-week holiday travelling around north-west France. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and not unduly expensive for the standard. We really enjoyed the experience and would happily recommend Le Mail.

11/12/2024: Not at all commercial...request for a birthday cake for 8 people for 12/24. Answer not possible, no lack of space, we only take orders for logs. An 8-person log probably takes up less space!!! I RECOMMEND AMAURY LAFONTA RUE DES MERCIERS. Retailer who listens to the customer.

31/08/2024: Très bon rapport qualité prix. Fruits de mer tres frais. Souris d'agneau bien confite. Choucroute de la mer bien dosée. Chou sans acidité Fondant au chocolat exceptionnel. Riz au lait de la "grand-mère ". Bons vins. Service irréprochable en disponibilité et gentillesse.

29/08/2024: Welcome and pleasant service. Lunch menu during the week at 20€50 with plenty of choice: perfect. Remember to order your chocolate cake at the start of your meal, it's delicious!

17/09/2024: We happened to be there for dinner today. A great tasty restaurant and nice staff. Thank you for the lovely evening. Since we were early, we were shown a great route through the city and it was great since I'm a photographer. Afterwards we were given a nice, quiet table as our little dog was with us.

04/07/2025: Very disappointed! Yet it's not the first time but honestly...we wait 1/2 hour before having a drink and the rest is the same. Very average service, the staff is not in place! We are forgotten! I am disgusted! In fact, no one cares. A very beautiful site but that doesn't make the service, the welcome and the attention! In short, deplorable, avoid

30/06/2025: There were 14 of us at the table!!! Perfect, full of delicious things to share, a magical place, a wonderful evening with top-notch service.

03/06/2025: We went there last Sunday, and prior going, I tried to call at 1.40, to ensure they were still open, it says 15.00 on Google map, no answer. We still went. We arrive at 14.10, struggled to park, no real parking area, we waited by the patio entrance. We were eventually greeted by a waitress, out of breath carrying plates. We asked if we could eat, we were 2. She mumbled something like, "No, were only two doing the service, and i don't have the time" and she moved on. There were only about 5 tables with customers on the patio. What a waste of a journey going there.

25/05/2025: If you're a foodie, you love nature, peace and quiet, and being on the banks of the Charente River, then you've found the right place. A plate full of originality, homemade bread. Thanks to a service provided in the region, we found L'Amaranthe. Thank you for this wonderful discovery in Port d'Envaux, this pretty little village.

07/10/2024: This is perhaps my favorite restaurant during my stay in Charente Maritime. We stopped there, my partner and I by chance. There were lots of people on the terrace. A smiling lady showed us where to sit. I had a plate of charcuterie. To the taste, everything seemed homemade. A duck terrine, slices of chorizo, country ham, a piece of bacon and foie gras. This plate was hearty and smelled good of the land. Then, a skewer of beef steak. A real delight with tender and tasty meat. My companion had a hearty Périgourdine salad in which she discovered a piece of foie gras. She then had some blood sausage with mash and caramelized apples. The dish was appetizing. After a short walk in Saintes we came back for a coffee and chatted with the entire team. I loved this moment. These people were very friendly and we discussed the work and what was being done and offered in our region of Saône et Loire. I particularly recommend this establishment.

30/08/2024: Très bon accueil, un bistronomique à l'ambiance feutrée, de jolies tables et des plats recherchés avec des produits locaux de qualité. La mise en bouche - toast à la mousse de chèvre - était parfaite. Nous avons beaucoup aimé nos plats et adoré nos desserts : essayez la nage de pêche avec sa délicieuse sauce/infusion à la verveine et glace au yaourt, vraiment excellente ! Merci à toute l'équipe pour son professionnalisme, nous reviendrons sans faute.
