The welcome was warm, the dishes were delicious (homemade, which is rare these days), generous portions, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Everyone loved it! A special mention goes to Janis, who is an exceptional waitress: smiling, attentive, full of great advice, and always radiating positive energy that makes the experience even more enjoyable. It's a true pleasure to be served by her. I wholeheartedly recommend this bar; everything is excellent from start to finish!

27/06/2026: The staff were very friendly and the terrace was lovely. The food was good. One small detail, unrelated to the food or the ambiance, but which could be bothersome: Please be mindful of the smoking tables. We had three smokers who went through a pack of cigarettes between them in an hour, and even though there was ventilation, it was unpleasant. They seemed to be friends with one of the waiters, judging by their conversation and the way they were served. It would have been easy to seat them around the perimeter of the terrace instead of in the center.

This family-run hotel boasts beautiful architecture and a particularly appealing old-world charm. The entire property is impeccably maintained, making for a very pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and feature excellent, firm, and very comfortable beds. As for the welcome… it was simply outstanding. We were greeted by Candice, an extremely welcoming, pleasant, and smiling young woman. She looked after us for three days, always with great professionalism and kindness. Her advice on visiting the region was invaluable, precise, and perfectly explained. She speaks about Châtelaillon with enthusiasm and elegance, beautifully showcasing this charming town. Her speech is fluid, natural, and a pleasure to listen to. Candice truly possesses all the qualities needed to welcome guests in the best possible conditions. In addition to being clear and highly professional, she possesses a subtle and understated sense of humor that makes interactions particularly pleasant and warm. We sincerely wanted to give her a special mention. We also wanted to mention the hotel owners, a discreet yet deeply pleasant couple. The lady of the house possesses a gentleness and delicacy imbued with an elegance reminiscent of the Land of the Rising Sun. Her natural smile and kindness lend the establishment a particularly soothing and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was varied, generous, and made with fresh products. During dinner, the attention to detail was always evident. The dishes were delicious, prepared with fresh ingredients, some with a delicate touch of exoticism that was much appreciated. The plates were presented with refinement, adding an extra touch of pleasure to each meal. What more can we say… if we return to the region, we will gladly stay at this hotel again. Thanks again to the whole team for this wonderful stay.

19/07/2026: Hearty and delicious dishes, a variety of desserts. Friendly service. Terrace overlooking the sea or lounge-style room with a lovely central bar. We go there quite regularly, but unfortunately, this year we were a little disappointed with the cocktails, both in terms of taste and presentation. It's a shame. I hope it's just a temporary issue. 🤷🏻‍♀️

18/07/2026: We chose the restaurant "Face à New York" in Pontaillac for our wedding on June 20th, and we don't regret our choice at all! This establishment exceeded our expectations with its services that perfectly matched the occasion! The availability, kindness, and efficiency of the waitstaff, the delicious flavors of the dishes we chose, and the flawless organization by Adeline, who was always attentive to the bride and groom's every wish, were all exceptional! And what a setting to celebrate what, for the couple, represents the most beautiful day of their lives! We couldn't have dreamed of anything better! 21/06/2026: We ate at this small restaurant, which had a beautiful and tastefully decorated interior. We received a very warm welcome from the staff. We ordered the €38 set menu per person (starter, main course, cheese, dessert). The cuisine was refined, and we were particularly impressed by the sausage terrine. The flavor was excellent, and the portions were very generous. The only slight drawback was that the dishes were a little lukewarm. We recommend stopping by for a meal when you're in La Rochelle.

20/06/2026: We came for lunch today and had a wonderful time. Upon arrival, we mentioned that I was gluten-free. The set menu (starter, main course, dessert) was adapted to my dietary restrictions at no extra charge, and always with a smile, which was much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The dishes were excellent, the service was quick and attentive, and the entire team was very friendly and welcoming. A truly great place with excellent value for money.

06/07/2026: Passing through La Rochelle during our family vacation, we decided to stop for a meal here, and what a pleasant surprise! From the warm welcome to the generous and delicious galettes and the local lemonade, everything was perfect: the waiter's smile and the kindness of the entire team. Excellent value for money! A must-visit!

05/07/2026: Excellent place, the crepes are delicious and generous. I also recommend the homemade iced tea (sunshine infusion 🌞).

18/07/2026: I went with my girlfriend one evening. I ordered the daily special (Morteau sausage, mozzarella, mushrooms, fried egg, sun-dried tomatoes) and for dessert, the "beg meil" (buckwheat galette with butter and homemade caramel). It was very good, although the wait was quite long between ordering and being served. The dessert galette was really original; it was the first time I'd ever had a buckwheat galette for dessert.

30/06/2026: I highly recommend the crêperie Au Bon Grain; the savory buckwheat crêpes are delicious, as are the sweet crêpes! The shaded terrace is perfect for lunch. The lunch menu is very affordable, and the owners, Paul and his wife, are friendly and welcoming!

08/07/2026: Discovered this little restaurant on a street corner. Friendly service, pleasant interior. Dishes beautifully presented, colorful, and the meats were excellent. One small drawback! Our eyes stung a little when a meat dish garnished with a flambéed herb was served. The restaurant is small, so this slight discomfort was a little disconcerting. The air conditioning was on, but the door was closed! We were eager to get some fresh air! Otherwise, I highly recommend it 👍
