16/07/2026: Be warned, if you order breakfast, the hot chocolate tastes like water, despite being sold by the waitress as "super hot chocolate." It's made in a machine with powdered milk or just water, not with fresh milk like the old-fashioned way, and all for €4.90... Furthermore, holiday vouchers aren't accepted for breakfast, only for lunch or dinner. We will definitely never return to this establishment.

16/07/2026: A very warm welcome (Marc), the waiter seated us at a table in the shade as requested. He served us throughout the entire dinner and we highly recommend his attentiveness and kindness. A very pleasant evening.

18/07/2026: We went there as a group of 11 on July 15th for dinner while watching the fireworks. We had booked the day before by phone. We had a lovely time; the servers were delightful, and the people around us were very understanding, as we had five children with us. The menus were reasonably priced, delicious, and generous. We paid exactly €100 for five people, including drinks and a three-course meal (starter, main, and dessert). Dining while watching the fireworks was truly a luxury. We'll definitely be back!

13/07/2026: During our four-day stay in Châtel, we had lunch at this restaurant on Saturday, July 11th. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. There were only three occupied tables, meaning fewer than twenty customers, with only three people serving, yet we waited nearly 20 minutes before receiving a menu. We ordered a bottle of rosé, but there were no more wine glasses, the waitress telling us that "they were all broken." We ended up having to ask for cocktail glasses. As for the food, the pizza was good. However, the carpaccio was disappointing: the meat was tough and the fries were far too overcooked. Finally, the service was the most disappointing aspect. The staff were unfriendly and seemed more preoccupied with chatting and joking with their colleagues than attending to the customers.

31/07/2026: The staff were very friendly, but the meal was too small for the price. There were also some oversights with our orders and the wait was too long.

13/06/2026: Average welcome, we were refused a "large table" there were 10 of us and were only asking for the next day, so we asked if we could come without warning, and with a certain disdain I must say we were told anyway I don't take large tables thinking it was a joke especially at the beginning of the season we asked for confirmation but no we had heard correctly.

20/03/2026: Now run by a super friendly and dynamic young couple, the decor and atmosphere have been tastefully redone. Great welcome, and fantastic pizzas—crispy on one side and soft on the other. Generously topped with quality ingredients, I highly recommend it! 👍👍 Thank you so much!

21/12/2025: Well, finding an open restaurant on Sunday, December 21st, in the south of Île d'Oléron, seems like a near-impossible feat. The café on the square is open, the welcome is warm, and the service is impeccable. A simple and pleasant moment. A hamburger and fries, a glass of Bordeaux, a coffee, and that's all it takes.

29/07/2026: I worked in a bar for 15 years, and I would never have dared to speak to customers like the owner did. Unpleasant, disrespectful, and rude, she addressed me in the most disdainful manner, her mouth full of pastries, her fingers covered in chocolate, and dripping with spite. The numerous comments about her supposed kindness are, in fact, highly suspicious. Luckily, the owner is trying to make amends, and I thank him for that.

25/07/2026: I ordered a Croque Monsieur WITHOUT ham, but it arrived with ham. We sent it back, and the same Croque Monsieur came back: the slice of ham had been removed, but there were still lots of small pieces of ham stuck to the bread slices... disappointing.

20/07/2026: Sorry, Mr. Owner... but you need to reconsider your approach... all six people at the table felt the same way... I repeat, there's no respect and no consideration for people who only order ice cream, crepes, and drinks... and we ordered for six, not two... we're not used to ordering for two while the other four just watch... I've never seen anything like it... and I'm sorry, but there are ways to say things and explain why you prioritize people who order a meal for just a carafe of water and treat everyone else like dirt... so, as an rip-off, you add a €6.50 bottle... we could have washed the dishes too... if you don't want tourists, you couldn't do a better job... avoid at all costs

20/07/2026: See attached document to understand this addition: You are the one distorting the facts!!! We asked for the carafe AFTER having consumed all 6 drinks, 5 ice creams, and the crepe!!! It is completely false to say that we only had 2 drinks for 6 people!!! It's unbelievable to be acting in such bad faith. My friend has the receipt as proof of our consumption if necessary to set the record straight...

27/05/2026: Every year we tried, and every year we were disappointed by the staff's lack of friendliness. Having a drink on the terrace at 11 a.m.? No way, the tables are set for lunch, and of course, they're all empty! Goodbye, and see you next year! Who knows, maybe their attitude will change!

25/05/2026: Mixed feelings. The welcome and service were a bit odd; they weren't really attentive to our needs and didn't seem to know their own menu. A bottle of wine was simply placed in front of us—right in front of our noses, in our hands—in place of the dish that was about to arrive. The menu was small, but the meal itself wasn't very tasty.

17/05/2026: Very good and impeccable service; the staff were very kind and pleasant, especially considering we were using a Wonderbox voucher.
