18/05/2026: We went there for lunch on a whim and really enjoyed it. The portions were generous and beautifully presented, and the food tasted great. The staff were very pleasant, smiling, and attentive. Not knowing where to have lunch the next day, we went back.

10/07/2026: Simply the best restaurant in St. Georges. We spent a week eating out and ate there four times, which says it all. The service is both professional and incredibly kind. The owners are lovely and welcoming, and the food is truly excellent (mussels, open-faced sandwiches, burgers, roasted Camembert). Thank you to the whole team for these wonderful moments; you made our vacation truly memorable! 🫶

10/07/2026: We came on holiday as a couple, I found it a bit expensive, I've eaten much better, it's a shame otherwise it's a beautiful place but the only downside is that it's not possible for non-smokers.

11/06/2026: Terrible service - We stopped off for a couple of drinks after cycling along the river - I ordered at the bar , we waited outside for nearly half an hour (the bar had customers, but wasn't busy) I went back in to check on our beers, thinking maybe they were waiting at the bar , but the server was at a table talking to friends - we just left 🤷

22/05/2026: Absolutely avoid this place if you have a dog! Even a 3kg one. In the sweltering heat, the owner and her cronies refuse to provide a bowl for a dog! The bowl provided is dirty, drooling, sitting in direct sunlight, and empty... I'm not thanking you for the welcome, where the regulars at the bar insult you for good measure... A rinsed bowl for a dog that won't drink from the drooling, smelly bowl provided for all dogs is too much to ask for a local, regular customer. I had lunch there yesterday and I go about ten times a year because I live nearby. I'm not going to congratulate you on your customer loyalty efforts... asking for an extra drink isn't hygienic, according to them, even though all the glassware/dishes should go in the dishwasher (according to the Regional Health Authority), using a product that is, to say the least, "toxic."

17/05/2026: The guy thought we were going to leave without paying, he jumped on us for our money, while the bakery next door called Les Petits Choux is super welcoming. I really don't recommend this restaurant.

03/07/2026: Error in the cocktail order, mussels and fries served with the cocktails, not many people, very long wait for dessert, unfriendly staff. I'll be lenient, it's the start of the season, but personally I won't be going back. Going into a business and feeling like you're bothering them... Not great. And to top it all off, when we asked for the menu for dessert, the owner (I think) replied, "Well, it's written on the placemats, it's obvious..." That's what I call customer service! And out of the four desserts, only three were served... A 10-minute wait for the fourth (not great for ice cream). For our part, we remained polite throughout. Their advantage is their prime location, but beware, there are other restaurants like this...

25/07/2026: It's July 25th, I had just finished work, and I told my wife we ​​were going to eat in downtown La Rochelle. I was very hungry, and I left feeling unsatisfied. There wasn't enough on my plate, it wasn't great at all. You should change your menu or improve it; this is the case with many restaurants in La Rochelle. More fries 🍟, not just a small portion, it's stingy. Sorry to tell you, the amount I paid for the bill was too high compared to what we ate. Sorry, and best of luck.

30/06/2026: Nice little restaurant with an ocean view, decent food, the flank steak was excellent and tender. The scallop tartare with its small scoop of lemon-basil ice cream was a truly surprising and delightful experience. Friendly staff.

27/06/2026: Despite the pleasant service, the salads were tasteless and not properly washed. A big disappointment.

A genuine and pleasant welcome, fresh and delicious cuisine, a blend of traditional recipes and a modern approach, original organic wines – in short, an address where you can spend an excellent moment relaxing and sharing!

28/10/2025: A very disappointing experience on a human level. I'm not questioning the quality of the coffee, but the attitude of the staff, particularly one woman present, was simply unacceptable. She started raising her voice and speaking very rudely because my dog ​​had simply sniffed a flowerpot on the terrace—without barking, making a mess, or disturbing anyone in any way. What's most incomprehensible is that there were no other customers present at the time. Nothing justified such a reaction. A simple word spoken calmly, with a modicum of politeness, would have been more than enough: we would have understood without any problem. Instead, the woman flew into a rage, forgetting all forms of respect and courtesy. It's a shame, because a business is also judged on the quality of its service and the human touch it demonstrates.

19/06/2026: We're always warmly welcomed, whether we've booked or not. For a €15 set menu, you can sometimes eat worse elsewhere. The menu changes frequently, there's no à la carte menu! But the food is good. I encourage you to go there...

24/04/2026: I arrived at the bar for the first time. The welcome was a bit cold. I ordered a coffee, which wasn't very good; it was spilled all over my cup, not even an apology (it happens). And to top it all off, a woman at the counter was smoking a cigarette, which was perfectly normal.

26/07/2026: We stopped for a quick drink, and we were met by a visibly disgruntled waiter who seemed to be wasting his time serving us. No hello, no goodbye... However, the bill was immediately placed on the table. We had read excellent reviews and were planning to return for a meal. But given the reception, that won't be happening. Keep this up if your goal is to drive customers away; you're well on your way.
