28/09/2025: What a memorable experience at the Edelweiss Restaurant! I ordered a moussaka, hoping for an explosion of Greek flavors, but what a surprise: potatoes as crunchy as forgotten potato chips at the back of a cupboard. My partner, perplexed, dared to ask if this was normal. The waitress, lovely but overwhelmed, sent the plate back to the kitchen. And then, drumroll please, the chef himself bursts in, like a hero of a culinary tragedy, to defend his crunchy potatoes, a sacred recipe for the past 20 years! According to him, melt-in-your-mouth is for the weak; real moussaka is crunch or nothing. The result? A plate sent back, a disgusted partner who settled for dessert (decent, but well, it's hard to mess up a cheese platter), and me finishing my meal as a spectator to a gastronomic drama. Advice to the owner: a little humility and a thermometer for your potatoes might prevent a dinner from turning into a philosophical debate. We'll come back... or maybe not!

26/01/2026: We hadn't even tasted the food yet and we already wanted to leave. We were a table of 15 who were going to order a lot, but that didn't stop the servers from being unpleasant. It wasn't possible to make even the smallest change to the burgers despite our allergies. The waitress's responses were curt. We didn't feel welcome at all. 26/01/2026: An arrogant boss or manager who likes to badmouth his customers at the checkout; it's just awkward when you're standing right there. Personally, I won't be eating there again; there are far better restaurants in Vars where you get friendly service.

25/04/2026: The hotel was clean, and the room itself was fine (except for the lack of extra pillows). However, the overall experience was very disappointing. Breakfast: a complete rip-off! At €12 per person, breakfast was a huge disappointment, not to mention a complete rip-off. For that price, in a mountain setting, you'd expect local or regional products. Instead, there was a minimalist buffet, 100% processed and exclusively sweet. This is unacceptable, especially since we were the only guests in the hotel. The value for money is simply nonexistent. Inconsistent reception and service: The organization was equally problematic. We received confirmation for an arrival from noon onwards, but the door was locked at 4 pm. The manager finally opened it, telling us we were "lucky" she was there, as check-in is normally only from 6 pm! Trust is definitely lacking: we were charged for everything upon arrival (overnight stay, breakfasts, and a €5 pet supplement, even though the owners' pets roam freely in the common areas), and we were still required to pay for the restaurant immediately after eating. Yet, in a hotel, one expects to settle the bill upon departure. We were then left to find our room on our own in the middle of a hotel still undergoing renovations. Upon departure, there was no one at reception to say goodbye or collect our keys. The evening meal was decent, and the waitress did her job. However, a huge thank you to the chambermaid, who was absolutely lovely; she was the only one who raised the bar for the overall service at this establishment with her kindness and exemplary attitude. It's a shame that the human touch is so lacking in a 2-star establishment.

26/03/2026: A restaurant to absolutely avoid! The fries arrived at the table… undercooked. The waiter tasted them in front of us and admitted they were indeed undercooked, adding that he didn't mind eating them that way… unbelievable. The Rossini burger was drowning in an overpowering cheddar sauce that completely masked the taste of the foie gras. The result: an unbalanced and uninteresting dish. The "hot boxes" had clearly been left in the oven too long: all that was left was oil. As for the desserts, the tiramisu, supposedly prepared by a pastry chef, arrived completely liquid… incomprehensible. Nothing was right, from start to finish. A truly disastrous experience, especially since the prices are absolutely unjustified. Thank you to the team for this moment… unfortunately memorable for all the wrong reasons.

26/03/2026: I went to eat there yesterday, and I'm very disappointed. The fries were undercooked, and they said that's normal. The hot food was just oil, not good. And the tiramisu was very runny. It's changed a lot, but not for the better.

22/03/2026: The food is sophisticated and delicious. However, the dishes are very expensive for the portion size… and the side dishes aren't even included.

10/03/2026: Excellent charcuterie! The cooked ham is truly delicious, very natural and flavorful. The smoked sausages and bacon are also excellent, full of flavor and with real artisanal quality. You can taste the expertise and the quality ingredients. A must-visit in the area for quality charcuterie!

14/03/2026: Basic but disappointing food. The pizzas looked sad, and the pasta with cheese was mostly butter. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with managing the service. Coffee was reasonably priced, and water was free.
