04/05/2026: A really nice restaurant, they welcomed us with a smile despite the crowd, however, the portions could perhaps be a little smaller to be truly satisfied after a long day of skiing, and being served a small expired Coke was a bit odd.

30/07/2026: Well, I'm really disappointed. I'm still wondering how this place dares to call these "burgers." They're just plain old sandwiches with a piece of chicken that didn't even look homemade, a slice of cheese, a single slice of tomato... and that's it. Not even a bit of salad or any kind of topping. At that price, it's almost insulting. The worst part is that they didn't offer any compensation, even though the meal was far from satisfactory. We paid the price of a real burger for something we could make better at home in five minutes. To top it all off, we were only told upon arrival that the card machine was "out of order" and that we had to pay in cash. Strangely, no one bothered to tell us over the phone. Making customers come out of their way without informing them of such an important detail is a complete lack of professionalism. Since the takeover, the quality has literally plummeted. If the goal was to cut costs on ingredients and service, they succeeded. If the goal was to satisfy customers, they failed completely. And the restrooms? Don't even get me started. I don't even want to imagine what the kitchen must be like. This is a place I absolutely do not recommend. Keep walking if you're looking for real burgers and a modicum of respect for customers.

30/07/2026: No payment terminal, cash only. The pizzas were okay, but the prices of the other dishes are high considering the quality and portion sizes. The restrooms weren't clean, which I find really disappointing for a restaurant. My friends ordered a burger (if you can even call it a burger): an expensive dish for what it was, served without salad, yet the price remained the same. Honestly, we were disappointed with our last evening.

15/09/2026: We had a lovely lunch at this charming restaurant! The host is very welcoming, and the food is homemade, generous, and above all, delicious! The small square and terrace are truly delightful in the summer, and the setting is idyllic. We highly recommend it!

15/09/2026: We had lunch at this little restaurant and it was delicious! The salad was excellent, as was the raclette galette, which came with a generous and colorful side salad – it was superb! The owner did chat a bit, but only to show interest in her customers, and it didn't bother us at all. Our dishes and table were very clean, contrary to what other reviews say. We'll gladly come back!

11/06/2026: Lovely campsite just behind the lake. Excellent location for cycling. The campsite has a load of suggested routes which you can download the gpx files for making route planning so easy. The facilities are quality and there's two bars/restaurants by the lakeside.

06/06/2026: Stayed a few nights in campsite, great individual pitches, separated with hedges and trees. We were near the only ones. Nice swimming pool

14/03/2026: Basic but disappointing food. The pizzas looked sad, and the pasta with cheese was mostly butter. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with managing the service. Coffee was reasonably priced, and water was free.

26/01/2026: An arrogant boss or manager who likes to badmouth his customers at the checkout; it's just awkward when you're standing right there. Personally, I won't be eating there again; there are far better restaurants in Vars where you get friendly service.

26/01/2026: We hadn't even tasted the food yet and we already wanted to leave. We were a table of 15 who were going to order a lot, but that didn't stop the servers from being unpleasant. It wasn't possible to make even the smallest change to the burgers despite our allergies. The waitress's responses were curt. We didn't feel welcome at all. 25/08/2026: The restaurant staff were seated at the next table and smoking, which was particularly unpleasant. Furthermore, one of the staff members preferred to remain seated rather than prepare our desserts.

13/08/2026: Great merguez sausage, I really like Rostain brand products, quality meat!!!

27/06/2026: We were extremely disappointed with your merguez sausages. They were not good, not flavorful at all! To begin with, they were dry and very unpleasant, even though they were only pan-fried for 5 minutes. And they had absolutely no taste. And certainly not spicy at all. There's a list of the spices you use, but it must be in very small quantities! You can't taste a thing. The worst we've ever eaten. Organic no longer rhymes with quality; what a bitter disappointment. More than ever, we will support local artisans at small markets and truly organic sheep farmers.

08/08/2026: We had dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed refreshments several times in the garden adjoining the terrace. Dinner was delicious; all three courses were excellent, as were the desserts. The service was pleasant and impeccable. After your hike, you can relax with a drink in a deckchair in the garden. In short, a place not to be missed when you visit Vars les Claux.

07/08/2026: An exceptional location for an aperitif. Conversely, I've never seen such slow and inefficient service. After a 40-minute wait, with no tables left to serve, we decided to order inside. A charming young woman arrived and sat down next to us. Before she could even sit down, a waiter took her order... The next day, we went back, thinking it was just bad luck. Well, no! After another 30-minute wait, we decided to leave. It's a shame because the setting and location are ideal.

30/08/2026: We had a wonderful time at this restaurant! The food was excellent, and we received a very warm welcome. As it was the end of the season, some dishes on the menu were indeed unavailable. However, contrary to what I've read in some reviews, we were informed of this by the waiter, who took the time to explain the options and was very attentive, pleasant, and professional throughout the meal. This wasn't a problem for us at all. We also had a very good experience with the Roquefort sauce: it truly tasted like Roquefort! The portions were also generous and delicious. Regarding the service, we arrived around 7 pm and noticed other customers arriving later. Personally, we didn't find the welcome cold, unpleasant, or rushed at all. On the contrary, the manager greeted her customers warmly, and she and the staff came to ask us several times if everything was alright. This just goes to show how the same situation can be experienced very differently depending on the person and the circumstances. Thank you to the whole team for the delicious meal and the wonderful time. We'll gladly come back! 😊

28/08/2026: A real disappointment. A very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The waiter let us look at the menus and make our choices, but upon his return, several of the dishes we had selected were no longer available. It's a shame this wasn't mentioned from the start; it would have prevented us from choosing for nothing. Special mention goes to our 4-year-old son's meal, as he had also chosen an unavailable item. Sauce suggestion: The Roquefort sauce was simply tasteless: no Roquefort flavor whatsoever, just a greasy taste. A Roquefort sauce without any real Roquefort flavor is quite difficult to understand… And the coffee—don't add this to your final bill if you don't want to feel like you're drinking coffee grounds… We shared our comments with the waiter, quite politely. The manager then became particularly unpleasant when it came time to present the bill and didn't even bother to say goodbye when we left. (Upon our arrival, she opened the door for us with lightning speed, considering the resort was empty at the end of the season.) We clearly felt that our comments hadn't been appreciated. Unfortunately, between the unavailable dishes that weren't mentioned, the very disappointing quality of the food, and the poor service, we won't be returning. It was an experience we would have preferred to avoid.

27/02/2026: Disappointed after 3 years of loyalty. An unpleasant waiter, increased prices, a cook without a hairnet, a pizza without olives and with very little topping, music too loud and noisy, a long wait despite a reservation—in short, a total fiasco. What a shame! 😭😭 Goodbye and thank you.

13/08/2025: Arrived at 7:15 PM, left at 9:15 PM: one dish. Needless to say, the service was incredibly slow. 15 minutes for an aperitif, we should have left... oh well. The main course arrived, the wine was forgotten, the tasteless dish was swallowed, the wine still hadn't arrived, and then never was. Very mediocre service overall. The atmosphere at the twelve tables (except for the first three served) was one of gloom, dismay, and dejection. My wife's dish was too slow and frozen, so no dessert, no coffee. Glad to have left and walked out into the rain. Avoid (the restaurant, not the rain).

13/08/2025: Tartiflette, this dish is normally simple and satisfying. Very disappointed. The potatoes were barely cooked. Normally it's rich and delicious, but this was more like boiled potatoes, a little cheese, and very few bacon bits, which were actually matchstick-sized 😕. The service was quite slow because they were supposedly a large group. We didn't see any large group. The owner didn't even ask if we were satisfied. What a shame.
