05/05/2024: Une déco rétro raffinée et authentique, une vaisselle a l ancienne et délicate, un service chaleureux et attentionné, des plats faits maisons et goûteux, des vins locaux à souhait !... Bref, une adresse qu on souhaiterait ne garder que pour soi 😋 mais les hôtes méritent amplement d être reconnus !

21/04/2024: Une très belle adresse à retenir avec un accueil chaleureux, familial, des plats frais de saison, local, bref un vrai régal tout est fait maison !!

03/11/2024: The hotel to escape!!!. I booked a room for two nights at the Ambacia Tours Sud hotel in Saint-Avertin 37550. We chose the proximity of this hotel to the party hall because we were there for a wedding. What a disappointment when we arrived. I stay in a 3-star hotel and therefore pay the price of a 3-star for a certain comfort. My husband and I were surprised when we arrived at a parking lot without maintenance (dilapidated exterior) with just a small, very weak light inside. We had doubts, perhaps believing that the hotel was closed. The irony was when we discovered the room, the stained carpet and dirty wallpaper, dilapidated bathroom with an obvious lack of ventilation, it was total, a bathroom with black joints, the cracked sink , stained walls... The only positive point is the comfortable and clean bedding. Very noisy hotel, not well insulated. We hear the conversations of the people in the next room as if we were in the same room. Lunches mediocre for the price, the first day we arrived at 8 a.m. for breakfast there were almost no pastries left. In the basket a few disheveled chocolate bars, we ask if we can have croissants, the lady will tell us that she does not manage the catering, she is just a chambermaid. But still come back a few minutes later to tell us that there is a croissant left. What intrigued us was that this maid was at reception all weekend. And she's the same one who gave us our bill. I didn't hesitate to ask her if she wore several hats? Apparently she was replacing a colleague who was on sick leave that day. Anyway. This Sunday we were able to have the croissants but not cooked so bread with butter and that's all for the price honestly! The hotel needs a good renovation! Also for a little anecdote. If you have to pay by holiday check, check and do the counting together with the person at the checkout so as not to have any surprises 😧.

11/09/2024: Very warm welcome, simple but very tasty, fragrant cuisine... We return there, always with the same pleasure.

31/08/2024: Been 6 years since our last visit, kids love the couscous merguez, visited twice during our week holiday this August. Anna and family (owners) are lovely and in my opinion, it's worth a potential small wait for homemade food from a local family business.

04/09/2024: Eat tiramisu and a slice of flan at 4 p.m. with a drink. Excellent. Very pleasant and charming welcome.

09/08/2025: The welcome and friendliness at Clos d'Ussé are remarkable. You immediately feel at home. The rooms, the decor, the food, and Murielle's welcome will remain a wonderful memory of our cycling holiday along the Loire. A big thank you!

05/07/2025: For more than 10 days we have been trying to contact this hotel-restaurant: the website displays the error message "inaccessible" and the phone leads to an anonymous voicemail that does not return calls.

24/08/2024: I only know the restaurant and it is an exceptional experience that I highly recommend. The prices are more than reasonable and the refinement matches the originality.

Yet again we have returned to this superbly located, friendly hotel in Magical Loches, run by a delightful couple ,Sylvie et Stéphane Gage who continue to deliver exceptional service and wonderful traditional food to all their customers .This a one of a kind , family run , classic French Hotel , situated in the heart of the fantastic historic town of Loches , even boasting secure Hotel courtyard parking - esp. good for motorcycles!. Always a Friendly welcome, with comfortable , if somewhat dated rooms, some with A/C, but compensated by meals in the superb dining room or out in the balmy summer evening courtyard. Fabulous , value food, and superb local wine selection . We keep going back- Well worth a trip , or detour en route South, for a quiet relaxing overnight stay situated in the centre of the pedestrianised part of Loches.. You will return to this gem in the heart of France , over and over to epxerince the bustling markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, great individual shopping , and magnificent historical sites , all within walking distance.

01/08/2024: Dans une zone sans âme, un restaurant trouvé par las avis qui étaient bons... et je confirme, c'est un rapport qualité-prix tout à fait exceptionnel. Service agréable et attentif, dans une très grande salle (genre salle de mariage). Menu trio à 20.90 avec une présentation superbe et des goûts pour le moins travaillés. Une halte que nous referons volontiers et qui est à conseiller.

02/07/2024: Une bien sympathique découverte que cet établissement situé à l’écart de la circulation. Ce restaurant se targue d’être numéro un à chambray les Tours… vérifions… Première impression, l’accueil est souriant et notre choix d’avoir une table isolée est respecté. Le personnel de salle nous présente la carte, 20,90 € pour une entrée, un plat et un dessert et 19 € pour entrée + plat ou plat + dessert. Le moins qu’on puisse dire, c’est que les tarifs sont très raisonnables. Nous commençons donc avec un foie gras maison pour mon épouse et une salade de gésiers pour moi. Suivrons une pièce du boucher et sa sauce truffée pour mon épouse (viande particulièrement tendre et fondante) et des ris de veau flambés au cognac pour moi, le tout accompagné de frites maison. Pas de mauvaises surprises, le tout est servi en quantité suffisante. Un café gourmand et une panna cotta aux fruits rouges achèverons de nous rassasier. Ici, le fait maison est de rigueur, d’où une carte réduite. Nous avons passé un très bon moment, et les quelques petites erreurs notées par-ci par-là démontre que le chef transmet quotidiennement son savoir à du personnel pas encore tout à fait à son niveau. La différence entre la cuisine industrielle, insipide avec la cuisine traditionnelle faite maison par des humains. Côté tarif, ici le rapport qualité prix est imbattable. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

11/09/2024: Great reviews on TA made us drive here for lunch. Superb! Gisard salad for me, filo pastry goats cheese for Rick. Then confit beef with mash top, like the best cottage pie ever! Rick had pork, rice and veg. A lovely Saint Nicolas de Bourgeil, beer and water all for under £90. Excellent

19/08/2024: Nous avons choisi ce restaurant sur la route entre deux châteaux à visiter. Nous avons bien fait. Repas impeccable, service impeccable. Le restaurant est situé en dehors de la ville mais il se trouve très facilement. Bon rapport qualité prix.
