26/02/2026: Don't come if you have a very cheerful personality :) because unfortunately, the waiters here think they're your parents and refuse you drinks even if you're perfectly capable of continuing to drink. I came to celebrate my birthday at the Irish pub with my best friends, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. After my third drink, the waiter refused to refill my glass, claiming I was "drunk," which was absolutely not the case. I'm simply a cheerful, outgoing, and festive person—it was my birthday, I was just happy and full of energy. I had never been to this pub before, and being judged like that, without anyone knowing me, was humiliating. I was also criticized for calling the waiter by his first name to get his attention, even though he didn't respond when I was simply trying to order. It seems to me that asking a waiter to order is perfectly normal in a bar. The most paradoxical thing is that they refused to serve me, then criticized me for having a drink across the street. I don't know this waiter, and he doesn't know me either—I don't see why he has the right to judge my behavior or lecture me as if he were my grandfather. Luckily, we ended the evening at La Civette, which was by far a much better experience. Warm welcome, pleasant atmosphere, no inappropriate judgment—exactly what you want for a successful birthday party. First and last time for me at the Irish pub. If you happen to be passing by, bearded waiter, stop thinking you know everything :)

19/02/2026: Great place. Real pub vibe, authentic. Typical pub decor. Friendly, top-notch staff. Excellent value for money. I recommend it. Good music. Don't change a thing.

07/02/2026: If you have back problems, the chair is too hard. You have to go to the bar to ask for what you want. To get the menu, you have to scan a QR code.

17/12/2025: A huge dog in the bar that gets to do whatever it wants, even lick our still-full cups. And they insult us when we leave. Avoid at all costs.

31/12/2025: The managers are completely disrespectful, and I see from the reviews that it's the same even for those who actually ate there... Instead of simply apologizing for not updating the opening hours (10 pm) for December 30th by allowing reservations for 9 pm, they treat people like dirt, brushing them off in an incredibly rude manner. When you've just driven 600 km to see your mother and little sister, and you arrive at 8:30 pm, counting on this "restaurant"—which was the only traditional French restaurant in the city center "open until 10 pm"—for a family meal, the least you can expect is to be greeted with a smile and a "Sorry, we closed the kitchen at 9 pm tonight..." rather than a "Uh... I'll check with my husband" and a "Yes??" "Without even a single 'hello' from the gentleman, and to top it off, a raised eyebrow that clearly said, 'Why are you bothering me at 9 pm?' I mean, I don't know, what do you think people come to a restaurant for at 9 pm? A game of bowling? Luckily for our evening, we found it much more pleasant, certainly better, and of a higher standard than the property of these pathetic people."

30/12/2025: We arrived at 1 p.m., not even a hello, just a rude "We're full!" Please continue to ban this restaurant so they at least learn some manners and courtesy.

18/02/2026: A great working-class restaurant where it's worth noting that everything on the appetizer and dessert buffets is homemade. The staff is efficient and friendly. We'll be back!

17/02/2026: The dish arrived in 2 minutes, cold. The sauce was tasteless, but the service was express. I recommend it if you're a delivery driver and in a hurry.

20/02/2026: Very warm welcome, delicious pastries, varied drinks menu, I highly recommend it for a break from your daily routine.

30/12/2025: We bought a mirabelle plum log and a sambuco, frankly, it's expensive for a Bavarian cream. Disappointed! The Combier soufflé was excellent. Best regards

16/11/2025: We've been coming every year for the past four years, with friends, and we're always very happy. The different rooms we stay in are always very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is generous and the lunch is always very good. We love the atmosphere of the dining room, the wood-burning stove which gives it a cozy feel, and the overall ambiance of the hotel (decor, music on the radio, etc.)! It's really cozy! The managers and staff are always friendly and efficient.

15/11/2025: We went to eat at this restaurant for lunch today. Very disappointed 😞 😞 😞. The decor is very, very old-fashioned. The menu is very complicated, with far too many choices. The food was okay, but nothing special, especially the "gourmet coffee." The dishes were damaged. The carafe was damaged, or rather, the plastic pitcher was worn out. There were four of us in this large restaurant, which has clearly been left in the past. I absolutely do not recommend it. Avoid it. The waitress wasn't particularly pleasant. She brought us appetizers, and 30 seconds later, the starter arrived. Since there were only four of us, she only had us to take care of. I will never go back.

09/02/2026: Always excellent...the best Flunch I know...and the staff is always friendly. What a shame this restaurant is closing permanently to make way for a fast food place...a void in Cholet! Best of luck to the team who did their best despite the planned closure...well done to everyone and thank you!

24/08/2025: While visiting the château, we had a reservation for 7 people, including 2 children. There was no children's menu available, except for a hamburger steak for 11.80, no drink, no dessert... no effort on the part of the owner. The tablecloth had holes... the cleaning was poor. The à la carte prices were very expensive. We decided to leave. We won't judge the cuisine.

17/08/2025: Hurry there! It's an authentic place, the menu is very good, the vegetables crisp and served on vintage plates. Only three managers in 120 years of existence: a wonderful continuity! The current managers are leaving at the end of September...hurry there!
