20/11/2025: I'd been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. I finally did, and I should have come sooner! It's a great place; the food is excellent and reasonably priced. Water is served either by the carafe or as filtered sparkling or still water. They don't sell bottled water of any particular brand. The service is quite fast. The pig's trotter crépinette is delicious. It was my first time trying it. The trio of crème brûlées is fantastic. It's perfect for Juno.

11/02/2026: We arrived at the open door of the restaurant at 11:55 am and were chased away because it opens at noon, a strange welcome for a shopkeeper…a shame because the cuisine is refined and the dishes are presented with care.

03/01/2026: We celebrated my wife's birthday with a lunch for 12 people. The service was impeccable, the food excellent, and the portions generous. The wine was excellent. A very enjoyable family outing.

13/12/2025: Customer service-wise, a little dig at the waiter who confused a triple beer with a triple beer 🍻, 🤣... But he quickly redeemed himself... Friendly, attentive staff. On the plate, nothing but positive things to say. Tender meat and a chef who knows his stuff... Pearly white fish... superb.

12/01/2026: Here's my opinion on this experience: the meat wasn't good quality (defrosted and reheated in the microwave...). The lighting was almost nonexistent throughout the entire meal. The fries were good, but how can you mess up fries? :)))) The price was too high for the quality, but the staff was friendly.

17/11/2025: A Sunday lunch with friends (a group of 12). We were able to choose our menus when we booked, which was very convenient. A warm welcome and impeccable service. We all enjoyed a very good meal, with a particular favorite being the beetroot mille-feuille, and for me, the beef cheek was delicious. All accompanied by excellent wines (the Pic Saint-Loup 👌🏻). Thank you so much for this lovely time and best of luck!

16/11/2025: My grandmother regretted ordering the grilled sea bream. The fish was full of bones, whereas sea bream is a fish with very few bones. She thinks she was served a bream instead of a sea bream. She is very hesitant to return to that restaurant.

23/02/2026: Family lunch on a Sunday. Beautiful setting, very clean premises, impeccable service, delicious and refined dishes. There are few quality restaurants in Saumur. Don't miss this one, I highly recommend it.

22/02/2026: When we entered the restaurant, the waiter said it wasn't dinner time yet. We told him we needed to catch a train and needed to eat as soon as possible. The chef, knowing this, moved up the dinner start time by an hour to prepare our meal, and we made it to our train just in time. Although we speak different languages, come from different places, and have many other differences, the restaurant staff treated us very well. The food was delicious, and the chef even kindly asked us how it was after the meal.

15/02/2026: Easy booking, a warm welcome, and a varied menu (the sea bass fillet with baby vegetables is delicious). The glass of sparkling wine is also generous, and the wines are reasonably priced! Everything is clearly prepared by the chef with meticulous care and a real passion for food; it's a true delight! Thank you, we'll be back soon!

07/02/2026: We were charmed by this very friendly, welcoming bistro where the food is good and reasonably priced. It was 1:30 pm on Friday, and given the weather, the restaurants on the street were far from full, and most had already closed their kitchens. We arrived at this place and managed to find a table, as the restaurant was packed. The decor is simple but has a soul that you feel as soon as you walk in; you feel comfortable and as if you've been there countless times. Fabien, the owner, a true epicurean, is at the helm behind his bar and also helps out in the dining room when needed. He is expertly assisted by… (she forgot to give me her name) a professional waitress who is extremely helpful, attentive to her customers, and remarkably kind! As for the daily special, it was flawless: the quality, the portions, the taste… and the homemade fries were a real treat (and I know what I'm talking about, I'm Belgian 😉😀), you could come just for that! If you're a wine lover 🍷, you'll be in heaven, as the wine list would make 3-star restaurants green with envy, the variety is so vast! And if you're on good terms with the owner and/or a regular, you can enjoy a verbena elixir while chatting with him at the bar as you pay your (very reasonable) bill! The only reason I'm not giving it 5/5 is for the back room… there's only one toilet, and it's a pain when it's busy… anyway, I highly recommend it!
