19/04/2026: Great experience! The saleswomen were very friendly, smiling, and attentive. The service was quick despite the wait, and the panini was really good. Of the three bakeries in the area, I highly recommend the one in Talange: the coffee there is much better than in the others.
11/04/2026: Having been a customer of this establishment for over 10 years, my last two visits were a real disappointment. We ordered a praline buttercream Easter nest for the holidays, and the quality was simply not there. The finish was crude (the decoration was done with a large piping bag and poorly executed, whereas before the nest was decorated with pretty strands of cream), the sponge cake was very dry, and the buttercream barely smelled of praline! It's a shame, because it used to be a reliable choice! Today, we came for breakfast in the tea room to treat ourselves for the weekend, and there was a second disappointment. The saleswomen were charming, but they served our breakfast on an extremely dirty table, with crumbs and crushed chocolate all over it. I could have understood if they had been overwhelmed, but there were only four of us in the tea room (two tables), and the bakery area was practically empty. We stayed for an hour and a half. All the tables were dirty from earlier that morning, and not once did the staff clean a single one. When I ordered a latte macchiato as part of my set menu, I was charged an extra €1... So far, nothing unusual, it's always been the case. Except that I was ultimately served a simple, barely colored milk with absolutely no coffee flavor. I thought I heard at one point that the machine hadn't worked properly. That can happen, but the least they could have done was ask if I was happy with the milk, or if not, offer me something else. Unfortunately for me, I hate plain milk. The tea room itself is pleasant because of its ambiance and quiet atmosphere. It's just a real shame to see the decline in the quality of service and products.

26/06/2025: I've been going to this place for years. I order two set menus and ask for two cups to drink my can of beer. And then, surprise, they charge me 10 cents per cup!!! What kind of way is this? I won't be going back again.
22/06/2025: I've ordered bread several times and what I ordered doesn't match what was served. Even today, I ordered 7 baguettes and the person gave me 4. I took it back and asked for 7 more baguettes, thinking she had done her job. I didn't check, and when I got home, I realized she gave me 9 baguettes. I think either the person isn't listening or she has a hearing problem. It would be nice to be careful; it's not serious, but it's annoying. One thing's for sure: I will always refuse to be served by this saleswoman. While the others are very good, she...

06/07/2025: A deplorable experience this morning. The person who took my payment was simply unpleasant, haughty, and disrespectful. Even before I had paid, she refused to change my order, claiming there were three people behind me... This is ridiculous for a place that's supposed to welcome customers with a smile, especially at breakfast time. Worse still: she behaved as if she were the owner of the place, speaking to me in an authoritarian and contemptuous tone, even going so far as to try to kick me out! This is unprecedented. If you're looking for a place to start the day in a calm and cheerful atmosphere, avoid this establishment. The other outlets in the Dosda chain have much more pleasant and professional staff.
29/06/2025: I push open the door full of hope, I come out with a sandwich dripping with mayo and a healthy dose of contempt to boot. • Product? Dry bread, sloppy filling, mayonnaise poured on like there's no tomorrow. • Service? Contemptuous looks, no listening, no politeness: I was almost made to feel like I was in the way in the queue. • Result? Ruined lunch, a sour mood, and the certainty that I won't set foot there again. When you call yourself an "artisan baker," the minimum you should do is respect the customer: a smile, a sincere "hello," and the ability to hear "not too much sauce, please." Here, none of that. Too bad, because a business that disregards its customers ends up losing them sooner or later. Bottom line: if you value your lunch break (and your nerves), move on.

27/11/2025: I almost never leave long reviews, but my experience at Bar Saint-Jacques deserves to be shared because it's riddled with so many problems that I struggle to understand how an establishment can operate this way. We've all had a bad night out at a bar: slow service, inattention, a small mistake… these things happen. But what's striking here is that it wasn't an accident. It's a general atmosphere, a way of doing things, a kind of ingrained habit. From the very first minutes, I felt like I was bothering them simply by asking for something. Not a glance, not a "I'll be right back," not a smile. You end up waiting, standing for ages, while some people behind the bar chat amongst themselves, attend to other matters, or walk right past customers as if you don't exist. The service is sorely lacking in respect and, above all, professionalism. But what's most shocking isn't even that. It's complete disorganization. Nothing seems clear, nothing seems organized. Orders are forgotten, mixed up, half-finished, or completely lost. The customers look at each other with the same astonished expression, as if everyone is silently wondering, "Is this normal?" And unfortunately, the more time passes, the more you realize that yes, it is. And then there's something even more disturbing. Observing what's happening behind the bar, you see a tall, bald man with broad shoulders making gestures and behaving in ways that a customer should never see in a reputable establishment. Strange manipulations, picking up and putting down objects that seem inconsistent, practices that clearly raise questions. I accuse this establishment of engaging in deceptive financial practices (no pun intended). I'm reporting what I saw, and I wasn't the only one who noticed. And these behaviors ALWAYS come from the same person: tall, imposing, instantly recognizable, whose general demeanor puts neither the customers nor the atmosphere at ease. You find yourself observing things you shouldn't see and wondering how management can let this happen. The overall atmosphere is heavy, tense, almost oppressive. You don't feel welcome or comfortable. And when you add to that questionable hygiene details—glasses not always spotless, a sticky bar, visibly neglected areas—you finally understand that the problem isn't a one-off, but stems from a complete lack of overall management. What makes all this even more unfortunate is that this bar could be excellent. It has a good location, a nice terrace, and potential. But the lack of discipline, the attitude of some staff members, the astonishing behavior observed behind the bar, and the total absence of consistency in the service ruin everything. You leave with a feeling of unease and, above all, a question: how is it possible that no one in charge sees what's happening right in front of them? I don't expect perfect service, just a minimum of professionalism, respect for customers, and serious management. I sincerely hope that management will take the time to get this establishment back on track, because right now, it's one of the most disappointing bars I've been to in Metz. And it's really time someone opened their eyes.

10/05/2026: We were looking forward to a treat by buying pastries to go from Pâtisserie Jean, a shop located just steps from the cathedral and town hall in Metz, on the afternoon of May 10th, but we were very disappointed. The pastries were tasteless. Even worse, the dough had a strong stale taste and was also very dry. On the other hand, the prices were high. Is it because of the stale taste that we pay more in the city center? Pastries in supermarkets are better, not stale, and much cheaper. We won't be going back and we definitely don't recommend it.

28/12/2025: Avoid this place. No credit cards accepted, no receipt, and they made a mistake with the change, which was against me. This establishment's practices are highly questionable. Keep walking; there are much nicer shops nearby!

22/03/2026: This local tobacco shop needs to be shut down. They're very rude and open whenever they want, and they don't sell all the different packs and brands of cigarettes when they're open! It's more like an illegal gambling den than a tobacco shop.

25/02/2026: I had booked a month and a half in advance, explaining it was for a marriage proposal. I had requested a secluded spot on the terrace and a bottle of non-alcoholic Champagne so I could toast with my partner, who has suffered three strokes. Upon arrival, there was no record of our reservation. We were simply seated on the terrace. Apparently, the supplier doesn't carry that type of drink, but I suspect it was simply overlooked, just like our reservation. The staff seemed far more preoccupied with chatting and laughing than attending to customers until I voiced my dissatisfaction. The meal ended without dessert, as you can imagine. We had come last year, and everything was perfect. After tonight, we will certainly never return to this restaurant.

Je fréquente les flunch depuis des années et ils ont fait la joie de mes enfants....Malheureusement tout cela a bien changé et ne fait pas la joie de mes petits - enfants.Arrivés vers 17h30,nous étions quelques uns à attendre avec nos tickets devant les plats mais personne ne nous voyait où faisait semblant de ne,pas nous voir.. .J avais besoin de 3 repas enfants et il restait quelques boulettes de poisson toutes séchées et toutes refroidies depuis Dieu sait quand....J ai donc demandé de nouvelles,boulettes de poisson....Le 3eme plat enfant etait une semelle de viande toute sechee! Cela a duré 30minutes..... Il y avait une serveuse qui ne connaiisait pas les plats!J ai pris des carbonnades et horreur , lors de la degustation , j y ai trouvé un long cheveu! Cela m a coupé l' appetit! Je suis passée aux toilettes et là ,on pataugeait littéralement dans l eau.Il y avait un cm d' eau dans les toilettes.... J 'admets que ce n' est pas très cher mais il doit y avoir un service et un respect minimum.... Quand je suis sortie du restaurant j ai remarqué que les serveurs et serveuses partaient une charlotte, ce qui n 'etait pas le cas à notre arrivée.....Un chef serait -il soudain apparu? Je suis donc déçue car Flunch a toujoyrs6 fait partie de notre univers " vacances"

30/09/2024: What's going on in the smoking games room! Exterior doors wide open! It was 5 degrees last Saturday! I didn't know you had to come in ski gear! A shame everyone was freezing, is this normal? It was our last time because it’s getting worse and worse, not to mention the cleanliness……
26/09/2024: You really need to put a display, don't tap on the machines, it ruins all the fun of playing with people who tap and break the machines right next to you. Otherwise we often come, the casino itself is really nice.
