13/07/2026: Overall, this was a great experience. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and patient while assisting us as English speakers. They do have an English menu which was very much appreciated! The food was wonderful, and while my chicken was slightly overcooked, the overall quality and flavors were excellent. The drinks were absolutely fabulous and added to the enjoyment of the meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others visiting the area.

18/07/2026: Fantastic welcome and excellent atmosphere! The staff are truly warm, attentive, and lovely. Special mention for their child-friendly approach: the restaurant is perfectly suited to families, with dishes that can be adapted to suit even the youngest tastes. A truly wonderful place that I wholeheartedly recommend and that we will definitely keep in mind for our next trip to Lyon!

29/06/2026: Arriving around 11 PM (closing at midnight), we were immediately told what to expect: they were serving the last drink, understandable, everyone has a life. However, the service left much to be desired, with a nonchalant and rather rude waiter who answered us without even looking at us, walking with us at his back…inexplicable since the place was practically empty at that hour. I think this was an isolated incident, judging by the comments, but they clearly need to make sure it doesn't happen again because it's very unpleasant.

15/07/2026: Our family arrived from different parts of the world to a family gathering in Lyon. My husband brought me and our three daughters here, a place that means a lot to him since he used to bring his late mother here years ago while visiting Europe. He was excited to share it with the girls, and the reviews online had us expecting a great meal. Sadly, the food didn’t live up to it this time. My husband and I both ordered the steak, and it was tough. My daughters had the chicken, which came out dry. It was disappointing given the reputation and the sentimental reason for our visit. The one bright spot was the service, which was attentive and warm throughout. I hope this was an off night rather than a sign of things slipping. The restaurant was not busy that evening.

23/07/2026: The setting is absolutely magnificent, easily recapturing the typical atmosphere of a traditional Lyonnais bistro at an affordable price. The servers are friendly and enthusiastic, demonstrating speed and coordination to ensure excellent service. As for the food, it's a delight! The generous portions and authentic flavors create a truly indulgent and pleasurable experience for the taste buds.

18/07/2026: A local friend recommended this place to me, and it was a great experience. We had the €19 lunch menu with the special of the day (salmon in basil sauce), salads, and the praline tart. Incredible fresh food and good value. We left stuffed. It was a nice chance to try some Lyonnais dishes. The service was very good.

30/07/2026: Delicious oysters! They're incredible with the vinegar and shallot dressing they give you! The service was excellent and they were very kind to me, as I was alone and wanted to try some oysters. Highly recommended.

30/07/2026: EDIT following the owner's response: 1) We arrived EARLY and had to wait before being served (not a problem in itself, but surprising to apparently LIE about our arrival time?). 2) I would like to remind you that we CALLED SEVERAL TIMES to confirm the time, and you confirmed (even on the same day) that we could arrive at 2 PM. Thank you for demonstrating your bad faith to everyone. I hope this review will make your staff learn, but I clearly doubt it, judging by your response. Disastrous experience this lunchtime. The reservation was initially made by my partner for my birthday. Upon arrival, a woman took care of us very quickly and seated us. There wasn't really a greeting, and we felt like we were bothering them because the reservation was for 2 PM (it's worth noting that my partner had called beforehand and on the same day to make sure there wouldn't be any problem booking at 2 PM). The waitress handed us the menus and immediately asked what we wanted to order (drinks, food) even though we hadn't had a chance to open them. We told her we needed a moment to look, to which she replied, "Hurry up, we're about to close." So we left, very annoyed, especially since we had a significant budget and were about to spend it. We don't recommend this place, or at least we hope you get different staff.

24/07/2026: We had booked a dinner reservation before going to the firemen's ball, and what a pleasant surprise! From the cocktails to the dessert, we loved it. The food was delicious, the concept of browsing the bottles to choose from is excellent and original, and the owner, who took care of us from the moment we arrived until we were served, was incredibly kind. The service was perfect, and the cocktails and dishes were delicious. No regrets whatsoever, and we highly recommend it.

23/07/2026: It's always a pleasure to come to Rive Gauche. We're never disappointed by the food, whether it's from the menu or the daily specials. The cooking is perfect (special mention for the fish), and the sides and seasonings are delicious. The service is incredibly efficient, friendly, and always smiling. We've been coming here often for years, and it remains one of our favorite spots in the 6th arrondissement.

18/07/2026: A menu with something for almost everyone. Generous salads, the mother's casserole was truly excellent, and the daily special (chicken rillettes for me) offered great value for money. The ice cream selection was superb. I didn't try the madeleines for dessert, but I'll have to next time, as their savory madeleines were delicious. And to top it all off, the service was top-notch. In short: a very good place to eat.

29/06/2026: Absolutely delicious! The pork belly is a real treat, as is the beef snout. The desserts are also wonderful! A must-try!
