28/08/2026: I don't go to restaurants anymore because I'm fed up with paying €60 for undercooked food and leaving hungry. Here, all the dishes were delicious, the service was quick, and the portions were generous—nothing more to say. Well done!

24/07/2026: What a magical place... Nestled on a quiet street just steps from the 4th arrondissement town hall, you'll find this charming, intimate establishment with its exquisite cuisine. A simple, unpretentious menu and wonderful food: a truly uncompromising approach to the choice of ingredients and a harmonious way of combining them to release their full flavor. Every bite is a delight, and you can go there in style because the portions are generous. As for the wines: an intelligent selection, full of passion and heart, where even the most discerning palate will find something to enjoy. A genuine sense of hospitality and conviviality, always maintaining just the right distance. As long as places like this exist, we can keep our faith in humanity 😉

01/08/2026: My mother, my sister, and I had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived until we left, the service was, and I mean it, exceptional and delivered with passion. Not to mention the fabulous food. A special mention goes to Cyril, who is the restaurant's best ambassador thanks to the quality of his welcome. We thank him for also taking the time to show us around the bar and the rest of the restaurant, telling us the history of this beautiful establishment. Thank you again, I highly recommend it, and we will be back!

23/08/2026: A truly unpleasant experience. The staff were extremely rude, impolite and unprofessional, making us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. Mistakes can happen, but arrogance and a complete lack of basic courtesy are simply unacceptable in hospitality. We left genuinely shocked by the way we were treated. Without doubt one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. We will certainly not return.

14/09/2026: Excellent brunch, a truly pleasant surprise. A warm welcome, and even without a reservation, the wait was reasonable depending on the time. The €24 brunch menu is unbeatable: a savory dish, a sweet dish, muesli or something similar, a hot drink, and a cold drink. I haven't seen better elsewhere, especially at this price. The pancakes are thick, fluffy, and everything is really delicious. Efficient service, generous portions: I had trouble finishing it because it was so filling. A place to keep in mind for a complete and high-quality brunch.

02/09/2026: What a joy to stumble upon this restaurant while strolling down Rue Mercière! La Mère Cottivet was our favorite bouchon when we lived in Lyon several years ago. It used to be in the Cordeliers district, and when we wanted to go there one day while passing through Lyon, it was gone, and we thought it had closed for good. Anyway… I'm getting carried away with my memories, let's get back to the point: The best Lyonnais bouchon there is, that hasn't changed! Deliciously authentic cuisine, a warm atmosphere, and on top of that, exceptional service! Thank you to Hadrien (with an "H") for this delightful experience, perfect in every way, and for his incredible sense of service. He perfectly embodies the spirit of the place ☺️

30/07/2026: EDIT following the owner's response: 1) We arrived EARLY and had to wait before being served (not a problem in itself, but surprising to apparently LIE about our arrival time?). 2) I would like to remind you that we CALLED SEVERAL TIMES to confirm the time, and you confirmed (even on the same day) that we could arrive at 2 PM. Thank you for demonstrating your bad faith to everyone. I hope this review will make your staff learn, but I clearly doubt it, judging by your response. Disastrous experience this lunchtime. The reservation was initially made by my partner for my birthday. Upon arrival, a woman took care of us very quickly and seated us. There wasn't really a greeting, and we felt like we were bothering them because the reservation was for 2 PM (it's worth noting that my partner had called beforehand and on the same day to make sure there wouldn't be any problem booking at 2 PM). The waitress handed us the menus and immediately asked what we wanted to order (drinks, food) even though we hadn't had a chance to open them. We told her we needed a moment to look, to which she replied, "Hurry up, we're about to close." So we left, very annoyed, especially since we had a significant budget and were about to spend it. We don't recommend this place, or at least we hope you get different staff.

30/07/2026: Delicious oysters! They're incredible with the vinegar and shallot dressing they give you! The service was excellent and they were very kind to me, as I was alone and wanted to try some oysters. Highly recommended.

26/08/2026: Very good and made with fresh ingredients. The portions aren't huge if you have a big appetite, but the quality is excellent.

29/07/2026: Not wanting to go straight home on a weeknight, we passed La Bouteille on the way home and thought, "Why not!"... And we certainly weren't disappointed. We had a delicious meal and the staff was lovely! The chef even agreed to explain how to cook fennel, which I think is very generous of him to share his tips! They truly deserve to work hard and stay in business for a long time! I highly recommend it.

09/09/2026: I had a wonderful time at this charming bistro. I started with a delicious foie gras terrine, followed by veal tenderloin with virgin sauce, accompanied by soufflé potatoes and a pasta gratin. I also enjoyed a glass of exceptional Cairanne AOC red wine from Domaine Richaud and finished the meal with the homemade blackcurrant ice cream sundae, known as the "winemaker's sundae." The service was remarkably friendly and of high quality, with detailed explanations of the dishes and a judicious wine selection. This establishment is a true institution dedicated to French gastronomy. Bravo!

08/09/2026: Very good authentic (I believe) Lyonnaise bouchon. All the other branches are closed on a Monday evening so we managed to get a table at the main restaurant even though it was a good distance away from where we were staying. It was well worth the trip. The starter was very simple but tasty, the main course and deserts however were absolutely delicious. Good quality fair, cooked well, not over fancy and a good portion size, I personally hate tiny or really over large portions and this was spot on. Pricing was very reasonable and I would highly recommend this to someone that is realistic about good local flavours cooked authentically. Visit this restaurant you will not be disappointed.
