02/05/2026: When we made our reservation, we were told they would never take a reservation for 8:30 pm on a Saturday night because they have lives and employees! Apparently, in this restaurant, which now wants to call itself "Le Cheval Blanc" (The White Horse), you have to go eat at 6 pm on weekends?!
26/04/2026: I'm quite surprised by the recent comments, as my experience was the complete opposite! We had a wonderful time. The food is simply excellent, and you can tell that everything is expertly prepared, from the fresh ingredients to the presentation. Special mention goes to the poached egg with morels and the beef mille-feuille with its wine and shallot sauce: a real favorite. The welcome is warm, with a smiling and very pleasant waitress. It's a place where the menu changes every week and where the chef works wonders. I have absolutely no complaints; I'll be back!

09/03/2026: The waitress, completely unfazed, came over to tell us, "I'll take the bread back; I don't have any more for the table that just arrived." Shameful...
We were asked three times if our order had been taken.
Wait time between ordering and receiving our meal: 20-25 minutes for a total of 30 covers in the restaurant.
However, the youngest Asian waitress made a bit more of an effort.
The shrimp skewer, though, was quite good.
10/02/2026: New ownership and new name: The 28th. Excellent regional menu.
Well-cooked, beautifully presented, and with fast service.

26/12/2024: C'est un flunch, ça ne fait pas rêver, mais ce n'est pas fait pour ça. Maintenant si vous préférez rester sur l'autoroute, ce sera moins bien et beaucoup plus cher.
Salades au choix correctes, plats cuisinés variés, locaux nettoyés en continu pendant l'heure du midi, implication du personnel, parking facile pour surveiller la voiture.
Et avec ce que vous aurez économisé par rapport à l'autoroute, vous pourrez vous payer deux bonnes bouteilles d'excellent blanc de Macon.
05/10/2024: En soi, le restaurant est bien, mais le personnel est médiocre. La personne qui réapprovisionne le buffet prend tout avec ses doigts sans gants et avachi sur le buffet quand les gens passent, et baille devant tout le monde.

03/12/2024: Having come to this restaurant by chance and at the end of our service, we found a warm and professional welcome.
Everything is homemade and the menu is small so at the end of the service a dish or two was missing, but that's normal and it's very good like that! Not an extension card.
Tasty and simple cuisine. For my part it was Poultry Tournedos and crème brulée. Everything was perfect.

24/11/2024: This is such a buzzy place to have lunch in Cluny: There's a very comprehensive menu which should ensure everyone can find something they will like. The food is fresh, well prepared and presented, and keenly priced.
A restaurant not to be missed if you are in the area. I suggest you book if wanting a table on a market day.

14/02/2026: A family stopover, a bit of a spur-of-the-moment find, and what a happy coincidence: a warm welcome, comfortable rooms, enthusiastic service, and a delicious dinner. The breakfast buffet offered something for everyone (crepes, pancakes, cold cuts, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, etc.). An address to remember and share.
28/12/2025: The room was advertised as being on the ground floor: false, as there are 5 steps. Furthermore, it's far from being a 3-star room: the shower and toilet doors don't close, the bin is completely dented, the armchair is full of holes, the pillow protector is stained and the cover is much too big.

08/04/2026: The room was good: great bed, nice bathroom, very clean. We got a free upgrade which was nice and a very good gated parking.
It is 5-7 minutes from the highway and Tournus is absolutely beautiful!!
BUT - we did not sleep very well because the hotel is located near de railway and there was even at night A LOT OF TRAINS and traffic… lots of big trucks and cars during the whole night. A pity, because the hotel is good.
BUT - if you keep the windows closed, it won’t be a problem.. but we sleep always with the windows open 😅
04/02/2026: We spent one night at the Hôtel du Rempart and were completely satisfied. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, and the breakfast room is beautiful.
The restaurant is a great bonus.
We recommend it.
