13/08/2026: Dinner yesterday with my husband and 4-year-old son. Everything was wonderful. The staff were incredibly kind, the service was superb, the food excellent, and the crozets gratin was a special mention—it was beyond excellent. And to top it off, they offered us a complimentary génépi liqueur. Thank you for this lovely experience. Virginie

29/08/2026: The food was excellent. It isn't very clean there... (tables sticky and cobwebs) but we saw that a lot in France. Glasses and cutlery were clean and the food was really delicious. The steak and hamburger are especially recommended.

24/08/2026: It took a very long time to take my order. I ordered well-done meat, but it arrived rare and cold. The fries were from the freezer. Not good at all.

31/07/2026: Amazing food and service, great value. Choose a terrace table for lunch on a sunny day with lovely mountain views. The new owners since June 2026 have tweaked the decor and menu but it's still a great spot for lunch.

30/08/2026: Perfect cocktails, a great selection from bartender Dimitri. Our waitress, Severine, was impeccable, pleasant, and attentive. However, the meat was a bit dry. More salad options besides the mesclin would be welcome. Otherwise, the atmosphere was pleasant and the decor was lovely.

20/08/2026: A WONDERFUL DISCOVERY For a long time, we'd been looking for a decent restaurant in Modane. Finally, we found it! Friendly and efficient service. Excellent home-style cooking. A simple menu, but everything is homemade. We won't hesitate to return on our next visit.

This evening was booked for a birthday celebration; thanks for the disappointment. I do not recommend this establishment due to its lack of professionalism.

02/09/2026: Go there when you're not hungry! It's not a restaurant. The concept of tapas or sharing platters... why not, but only if it's advertised! We ended up with 100g of rump steak cut into small pieces each, with absolutely NO sides, for €26 for the "dish". Better communication BEFORE we ordered could have avoided this huge disappointment!

28/08/2026: In the summer, L’Etoile des Neiges opens its beautiful terrace in the evenings, offering delicious small plates to share. The cuisine, prepared with quality ingredients by a master chef, is to be enjoyed without restraint. We also had the pleasure of attending a concert, a wonderful experience. The owner offers a warm welcome and the service is excellent, which is much appreciated.

20/05/2026: There were serious communication problems among the staff: within 10 minutes, we were called on Saturday morning by several members of the residence team about the same issue, with no one having consulted beforehand to realize we were already aware of it. Similarly, for short stays, check-outs can be at 5 pm instead of 12 pm (subject to availability); as indicated on Booking.com, we had specified in the comments that we wished to stay until 5 pm; upon arrival, the receptionist carefully reviewed all the booking information with us: name, address, city of origin, and departure instructions. On the day of our departure, the receptionist's response was: "We don't always read all the messages on Booking.com. We haven't reserved your accommodation until 5 pm, so you must leave and leave the keys in the mailbox at reception as we will be out." Another disappointing point: we booked this accommodation from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon because Booking.com advertised access to a heated pool and spa, without providing any further details. Upon arrival, we learned that these facilities are open Monday to Friday, closed on Saturdays, and reopen on Sundays from 5 pm to 7 pm. In other words, it's impossible to use them over a weekend. Finally, the rental is functional, and the one-bedroom apartment has everything you'd expect for a two-room apartment for a ski holiday. However, the draft coming through the door leading to the terrace highlights a lack of thermal insulation. While the accommodation itself was adequate, close to ski lifts and ski rental shops, the residence's services marred our stay. A very bad experience with this residence!
