17/04/2026: Congratulations for maintaining a high quality of welcome, service and cuisine right up to the second seating on the day the station closed!

08/04/2026: Absolutely loved it. Definitely not for PCs - this restaurant is a kitschy representation of the French image of America, with all sorts of depictions of savage "Indians" in feather headdresses, polar bears; in fact, all that's missing is a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer and it would be complete. But aside from all that, the service and the food were top-notch, especially being right on the edge of a ski slope. Thank you. Cheers. 5 stars

01/05/2026: The waiter got angry because we (a large group) left five minutes later than agreed. Before that, he tried to chase us away, and everything was a bit rushed and disorganized. Moreover, this gentleman took our dessert orders anyway, and it took 30 minutes before we received them. Then this guy got angry, kicked open the kitchen door, threw a glass on the floor (in the kitchen, of course), threw a raclette machine around, and pulled a plate away so quickly that a fork scraped against someone's arm. Idk the food was tasty though 🥹🥹

02/09/2026: During a stroll in Chambéry, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The staff were welcoming, cheerful, and accommodating. The menu looked tempting, but we had to choose and opted for the Savoyard gourmet salad, which was excellent. We skipped dessert, but it looked homemade and appetizing. If you're ever in the area, don't hesitate to come and try some regional dishes!

We received a very warm welcome, the team is fantastic: everyone is kind and pleasant! The meal was truly delicious; we all chose different dishes and everything was perfect. Thank you to the whole team, and don't hesitate to step inside this wonderful restaurant.

03/04/2026: We had a lovely meal here last night. Very welcoming staff got us seated and were well timed in coming back for a drinks order. We had three generations sitting and the menu catered well. The kids menu ticked all the boxes and was homemade through and through. The costs/fare in all these restaurants are very similar so maybe it was the friendly staff who made the difference for us 🤗 Would happily return. D

Everything here is fresh, seasonal, and homemade, and you can really taste it in every bite! 🥩🍔🍟 A big shout-out also to Claire Ma and Lionel, our server, for their warm welcome, kindness, and impeccable service. A lovely team that greatly contributes to the wonderful Savoyard atmosphere—friendly and welcoming. ❤️ And what can we say about the terrace? It's pleasant and sunny, giving you the feeling of being surrounded by nature even though you're right in the heart of the village… 🏔️☀️ Le Gros Cailloux is much more than a restaurant: it's a place where you eat well, feel good, and want to come back!
