The owner's welcome was exceptionally warm; he was always attentive and eager to please each of our guests, from the cocktail hour until the end of the evening. The upstairs room, both inviting and cozy, offers a beautiful view of the garden, making the setting truly delightful. The meal was exquisite from start to finish. The chef took the time to present each dish, sharing its story and composition, which was greatly appreciated. The service was impeccable: efficient, professional, and always friendly. 26/05/2026: I wasn't planning on leaving a review, but since we were asked twice… here goes. There were three of us. Upon arrival, we were seated at an outdoor table, with no option for indoor/outdoor seating, just a table outside. This table and the chairs were placed on slate paving stones, which were themselves on bare earth. As a result, the chairs were precariously balanced between the paving stones and the earth. Furthermore, we were sitting directly under a tree that seemed to be teeming with small insects. Nothing alarming in itself, but since the ground wasn't level and our guest wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of ​​potential insects in her cocktail, we politely asked to move. At that point, we felt like we were annoying the person in charge of the service. Furthermore, my partner pointed out that the small aperitif, though much appreciated, had been removed as soon as my starter arrived, which seemed a bit rushed to me. So, two people were going to be watching me eat my starter without anything (but let's not judge). And then, a “terrible mistake”: our friend told us she has a phobia of insects in food. Since there were still some at the second table, we politely asked if it would be possible to eat inside. Let's not dwell on the fact that we were gently mocked by the server when we made this second request, and on the very clear impression that we were being “annoying” (sorry for wanting the three people at the table to feel comfortable while eating). Finally seated inside, I had the unpleasant feeling that they were trying to serve us as quickly as possible to get rid of us. My starter and main course were decent, and our friend's main course was generous. Our friend, who ate a little more slowly, hadn't finished her meal when our plates were cleared. The waiter explained it was to speed up service, but it was clumsy. The fact that they also removed my partner's unfinished glass of beer really made us feel like we were intruding… Even though, as customers, we clearly annoyed the staff, it doesn't seem very justified to me. We weren't really inclined to order dessert anymore. We paid and left. And I understand that, after reading this, people might question our honesty. I initially intended not to revisit this experience, but since we've been asked twice, here it is.

25/05/2026: Everything was delicious! From the appetizer to the dessert. Completely homemade, guaranteed. Excellent flavor combinations, cooking, presentation—nothing to criticize. The garden/terrace is just perfect when it's warm like today. A gentle babble of water flows from a fountain. The decor and ambiance are almost timeless, and it's magnificent.

23/07/2026: I came this evening with a friend; it was our very first time at this restaurant. I trusted the positive reviews, and I'm so glad I did. We had an excellent evening. The waiter was very kind and professional, immediately presenting us with the daily menu and what was unavailable. The kitchen, waiters, and owner were all very attentive and professional, and the staff were very helpful. The team was top-notch. The service was incredibly fast. The time between the starter, main course, and dessert was perfect, allowing ample time for digestion. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated; it's really lovely. Regarding the meal, we ordered a set menu (starter, main course, and dessert) for €36.90, which is really inexpensive for the quality—everything was homemade—and especially the generous portions. We left feeling completely satisfied. The food was excellent. The homemade touches, the real homemade fries, and the Batavia lettuce, cleaned and cut to order (not bagged), were a real treat. The warm goat cheese salad is perfect as a starter; the generous portion and the balsamic dressing are excellent, perfectly complementing the goat cheese on the perfectly toasted bread. As for the ribeye steak, it's simply superb—extremely tender meat that melts in your mouth, a beautiful, high-quality cut. The rare steak is cooked to perfection. The crème brûlée, a classic, is also delicious and not too sweet. We have absolutely no complaints; we had a wonderful time. It's great to see that restaurants still exist with professionals who prepare everything themselves, peeling, washing, cooking, chopping… all the ingredients to create truly homemade cuisine at a realistic price considering the quantity and quality. You can go there without hesitation; a delicious meal is guaranteed.

09/07/2026: Fantastic hotel, the marvel artwork is stunning and the rooms really comfortable. Breakfast was great, a little pricey but all you can eat. Pool was nice when we had a really hot day. Only 10 min walk to the Disney parks.

01/07/2026: The hotel was good, the service was very unwelcoming over all, the staff made us and from what I was watching around us other people as well feel unwelcome. The rooms were fine, a bit old, for the price you would expect more. The location it was amazing because it was very close to the park and very convenient!

They also have classic dishes like terrine or tartare, but homemade and fresh! I had the chicken supreme with chanterelles and polenta, which was very good, but I would have liked a bit more sauce as it was a little dry otherwise. The setting is ideal in the forest, there's always parking available, and the place has a lot of charm. The waiters and waitresses are energetic, smiling, and attentive. 👍

13/07/2026: Passing through Provins, we had a very pleasant time at L'Hostellerie de la Croix d'Or. The telephone contact was pleasant, as was the welcome upon arrival. The service was impeccable. The kidneys were perfectly pink, the fish ideally cooked, and the sauces were flawless. Even the dessert was delightful. All this in a truly authentic setting.
