24/08/2026: Indeed, my previous comment was for a different restaurant. Regarding Le Bouchon Normand, I found the service chaotic, with the staff running around in all directions… and not very organized (probably staffed for the high season). The dishes themselves were quite decent. I must point out that my wife's dish, the black cod loin, was undercooked in the center. She was sick during the night, probably because of it 😟 The rest was good, and the price was reasonable for the location.

13/10/2026: A business dinner at this ideally located restaurant on the Place du Vieux-Marché, in the heart of Rouen's historic center. Overall, the dishes are decent and well-presented, although more refined seasoning and a few creative touches would enhance the flavors. The cuisine remains pleasant, but lacks a certain distinctiveness to truly stand out. On the other hand, special mention goes to the two young waitresses, whose professionalism, kindness, and efficiency deserve to be highlighted. Their warm welcome and attentiveness greatly contribute to the quality of the experience. The owner is also very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, which is particularly appreciated. In conclusion, a pleasant and convivial establishment with excellent service. A few improvements in the kitchen would allow this restaurant to reach the next level. A well-deserved 4/5 rating, especially thanks to the quality of the welcome and service.

08/09/2026: Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Average tourist food at an acceptable price for this beautiful but completely overcrowded place. The two of us paid €67 for three dishes at lunchtime, including wine and cider. We had nine oysters, which were okay but not entirely fresh and not served on ice; a tasty fish soup with side dishes (commercial supermarket quality); and mussels with a small bowl of soggy, greasy fries. The mussels were supposed to be with Roquefort cheese but were served with a flour-based sauce. I think that was a mistake. We then received a new portion with a cheese sauce, which was probably not Roquefort but rather much cheaper Gorgonzola. Everything tasted good, and we weren't dissatisfied, but it wasn't anything special.

The two Justines go out of their way to make sure we have a great time 🙂, the dishes are homemade with fresh ingredients, and the desserts are divine! 💕💕💕 The menu reflects a place where everything is handmade; if you're a fan of frozen or industrial food, this isn't the place for you.

A warm welcome, delicious food, fresh ingredients, and a wonderful time spent around a superb table... practically with our feet in the water 😎 Add to that a friendly atmosphere... and my brother-in-law's legendary laughter in the background 😂: honestly, everything was perfect for a fantastic lunch! The atmosphere was friendly, the welcome warm, and the staff smiling and very pleasant. The dishes were generous, homemade, and above all, delicious! Excellent value for money!
