29/03/2026: L'Ecu d'Or was recommended to us by a shopkeeper in the town center. And we don't regret our choice! A very warm welcome, excellent service, a charming setting (the restaurant is located in a former chapel), and delicious local dishes. Highly recommended!

07/03/2026: A true delight. We opted for the tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was delicious and refined. You can taste the chef's passion in every dish. The service was impeccable; the dishes were explained to us, and the waitress was very pleasant. Wine lovers will find some excellent vintages. I will gladly return.

28/03/2026: The owner is fantastic, extremely kind and attentive to customers, dogs are welcome without any problem, and the portions are large and generous for a very reasonable price. The establishment is also clean, and there's parking right in front of the restaurant. I'll be back every time I'm in the area!

The owner is friendly and welcoming.
My dog was welcome, which was much appreciated.
The place is clean.
Parking nearby.
Very well located (church, mini-market, etc.).

19/03/2026: For fine dining, there are plenty of other options. Here, you get authentic local fare, carefully prepared dishes, and a genuine desire to welcome you. And the atmosphere is such a refreshing change from your average bistro! If I lived in Brioude, this would be my go-to spot. And thank you, thank you for being open on Sundays with such generous hours. To see what it's like and what's on the menu, check out the other reviews. I had the perfect lentils with bacon. And long live jazz!

02/11/2025: The star is well-deserved. Succulent from start to finish. The wine pairing enhanced the tasting experience. Amuse-bouches, petits fours, hors d'oeuvres, and pre-desserts perfectly complemented the meal. Impeccable service. A peaceful overnight stay with a generous breakfast. All this in a setting that blends tradition and modernity, reflecting the couple, parents and children, who run this wonderful restaurant. My best friend and I were completely won over.
15/10/2025: A fifth visit that will remain a timeless moment with explosions of flavors, sparks of color, accompanied by a subtle wine pairing and a welcome and service full of kindness and elegance. A Family with a capital "F", who share the talent of "great chefs". Bravo again to you, and thank you for this enchanting interlude.
We are already planning to return.... With a little massage as a bonus....

22/03/2026: There were four of us, and even though the restaurant was full, we found it unacceptable that the full selection of appetizers was no longer available, and there were no more shrimp... How is such poor management possible? Having to share a menu between two people is one thing, but not having a choice of all the dishes is unacceptable. We were disappointed... We weren't even offered complimentary coffee.
On the other hand, the staff was very friendly, from the waiters to the young sommelier.

A special thank you to the waiter who overheard us and brought us a candle on our dessert for my husband's birthday 🙏. We will definitely be back. Thank you, thank you.
