18/08/2026: If you're looking for glitz and glamour, this isn't the place for you. Here, there's no fancy decor, no extensive menu, no fuss. A former aviation clubhouse, still retaining its original character, a lovely terrace, a simple and rather unexpected setting… and above all, a genuinely welcoming host. From the moment you arrive, you almost feel at home. There's a sincere kindness, a way of putting you at ease without being overbearing, that simply makes you feel comfortable. The same philosophy applies to the food: a single set menu, starter, main course, dessert. Fresh, seasonal, homemade ingredients. Simple, generous, hearty cuisine… and above all, delicious. And ultimately, that's perhaps what I loved so much about this place: simplicity, when it's genuine, is anything but ordinary. There's no need for ostentation when you put your heart into the food and the service. We had a wonderful time. And we left with the precious feeling of having discovered a little place that doesn't try to impress, but simply focuses on providing a warm welcome and delicious food. And that, frankly, feels great. ❤️

26/08/2026: Like everyone has said, eating here is like eating at your best friend's house as a child. Very obviously home-cooked warmth. Go with the plats de jeur (two-meat meatball in tomato on rice when I ate here) and the house dessert (creme caramel) is equally delicious and comforting. An excellent diversion from the gastro brasserie fare. 100% would visit again.

31/05/2026: A Comedy Pipeline in Close Quarters. Since New Year’s Eve 1990, Le Nombril du Monde has treated comedy as material to be made, tested and sharpened in small rooms. Its resident troupe makes the process visible: performers may welcome the public, serve drinks, then step onto the stage. Courses added in 1995 extended the route into training, with Thierry Buenafuente shaping Lyon comedians and Florence Foresti its best-known early outcome. Selection also passes through audiences. In À vous de jouer !, artists presented short extracts, viewers voted and commented, and winners could enter the following season’s programme. Class, room, bar and audience sit close together here, so a comic idea can be tested in public and earn its place on the programme.

Breakfasts, served in a magnificent room, are generous and of high quality. The house is beautiful. We were able to have a picnic in the garden one evening, which was lovely. The owners are charming, discreet, and offered great advice for sightseeing. I highly recommend it.
