17/05/2026: Slow, especially on a Sunday at 2:30 PM, and especially unfriendly: no hello, no goodbye, we just stood there waiting for instructions to go to the next window. We hadn't even had a goodbye, and after repeatedly asking the employees passing by the open window if everything was OK, we were finally told yes, but still no goodbye... The service was simply appalling... P.S.: Undercooked potatoes and forgotten creamy sauces... the worst!

15/05/2026: Thank you for the takeaway cup after we had lunch there. Since the drink couldn't be consumed on the premises, we asked if we could take it with us. The staff were polite and friendly.

22/06/2026: Avoid this place at all costs! The service is appalling. They promise air conditioning, but in the end, there is none, even though we requested it before booking because we had a 90-year-old in our party. The service was a complete disaster: no bread, the steak was disgusting, and the price was exorbitant. They sell you two ice cream scoops when there's only one. The chef could really use a change of clothes; he's not very customer-friendly. Father's Day was ruined. Never again!

20/06/2026: Unbearable heat, over 40 degrees. More meat??? We ate a Caesar salad with lots of lettuce and a piece of meat, with hot Perrier. Staff were slouching at the counter. Six people on a Saturday night, do you think that's normal? We finished our meal at Burger King across the street from you.

10/05/2026: Small restaurant with a very dynamic manager! The food is very good. The decor is simple, and the small space makes it a bit noisy and not particularly intimate.

28/04/2026: Most amazing flank steak you can get. Simply stunning. Beautiful hint of wood smoke and perfectly cooked. Embarrassed that I wasn’t able to finish it! The pepper sauce that accompanied it was simply the best I’ve ever tasted. Bravo! The accompanying salad had a delightful house vinaigrette with the perfect amount. The father/daughter team did a great job. The wine list is comprehensive- this is a restaurateur that cares about wine!

29/07/2026: Friendly atmosphere and varied cuisine

29/07/2026: Okay, things are clearly not going well anymore, especially in the evenings. As for the starters, they've become very expensive, there's no variety, and the staff are surprised they don't sell any. And sometimes they're not fresh. I skip them immediately! They could offer a waiting time between the starter and the main course so that everyone can eat while it's still hot. Regarding the main courses, they sometimes arrive cold. They turn everything off before closing time. Too bad for those who are last in line, there's always the microwave. Except that when you put fries on your plate, we all know what happens when you microwave them. White wine in a tartiflette!!! That's just one example. Are there really any qualified people working in the kitchen?

16/07/2026: We arrived Wednesday evening. We were a couple accompanied by an English friend. We were seated in a room and decided to order an aperitif. It arrived at the table, and I decided to get a small plate of cheese and charcuterie. My English friend only took a small piece of cheese and a slice of sausage. When it was time to serve us, my English friend, having just had a long journey, hadn't eaten anything. However, my wife and I decided to go to the buffet. Once we had finished, a very pleasant waiter was passing by. I called out to him and asked how things were going since my friend hadn't eaten. He said he would check, returned a few seconds later, and told me that his boss would check the security cameras. From the very beginning, we thought things would be fine, but after a brief discussion, I was told he had eaten after all. I told them that yes, he had nibbled on a small piece of cheese and a slice of sausage. It's true, I thought, at worst, if they had to give me an extra €5, that's understandable! But no, they made me pay for the entire menu at €25. It's a real shame; I was expecting at least a small gesture of goodwill from them. Oh well, I paid for the full menu. You may have made €25 that evening, but you'll lose much more in the long run, because, being unhappy, we will be holding our family gatherings at another establishment from now on. It's a real shame.

24/06/2026: The food is just ok. The air conditioner is weak. The service was excellent. The cod had no taste. The sardine were just ok. Unfortunately there are not many restaurants in the area with air conditioning which is needed when the temperature reaches 42.

31/05/2026: Disappointing hotel, dirty room, cleaning staff completely indifferent. Avoid it.

06/07/2026: Visited twice during our holiday and had 2 wonderful meals . Very tasty , good portions and good value.The air conditioning was also most welcome during the heat wave . There was a slight language barrier however that’s our issue as we were too lazy to learn French at school . The lady owner was really lovely and we really enjoyed both our visits . Hope to return next year

01/07/2026: What a shame! What a difference since the change of ownership! The menu is half what it used to be, the prices are exorbitant (€10 for a small bowl of fried rice), the service is terrible (rice served 10 minutes after the main course), and the unpeeled shrimp in sauce were inedible. I won't be going back.

03/03/2026: Excellent bakery and pastry shop, very good products; for me, it's the best bread in Saumur, and the same goes for their pastries. The service is pleasant, and they always think of the little ones by giving them a small cream puff, which isn't always the case in bakeries. I highly recommend it.

12/07/2026: It's a small bar next to the station that's open on Sundays. You can have a coffee or something to eat when everything else is closed. The owner was very nice. Good prices.

08/04/2026: Having come to kill time before my train, naively hoping for a comforting sandwich, I headed for the nearest option… strategic error. To play it safe, I opted for a classic: roast chicken, mayonnaise, salad, tomato, egg. On paper, it was hard to go wrong. First surprise: hygiene standards here seemed to be a purely abstract concept. The same dishcloth was clearly used for everything: plates, work surfaces, and probably soon, customers if necessary. Finally, the long-awaited moment arrived: the tasting. And then, plot twist—the chicken wasn't “roasted,” but clearly still pondering its cooking. Pink, raw, almost ready to return to the barnyard. A truly vibrant culinary experience. And to top it all off, a detour to the restrooms, which perfectly extended the experience: a total immersion in filth. In short: a culinary and sanitary journey I could have gladly done without. Avoid it, unless you like surprises and taking risks.
