19/03/2026: This is the perfect place for a quick bite. The food was served quickly, the portions were generous, and the service was excellent. We ordered the kids' menu for the little ones, and they even got some extra surprises :) It really made our day!! Thank you 🙏

22/03/2026: I wanted to share my opinion about this McDonald's restaurant in Saumur. The food is a matter of taste, you either like it or you don't. I wanted to highlight the cleanliness of the restaurant and the quality of the service, thanks in part to the lovely gentleman who comes to clear your tray when you're finished and cleans all the tables. Well done to him! Perhaps this could give other restaurants of the same chain some good ideas?

20/03/2026: We were pleasantly surprised. Definitely McDonald's new concept (decor). Very nice and clean. The floor was clean, the tables were clean, the restrooms were clean. The service was quick and the food was hot. So, for a top-notch McDonald's! The staff was very kind and friendly. We were served and our plates were cleared too! It was really great. And the children's play area is huge, separate, and sheltered.

20/03/2026: Great atmosphere, just the steak was way overcooked; it had to be cooked three times before it was good.

13/03/2026: When we eat at your restaurant, we're never disappointed with the food. Just one small complaint about the cleanliness of the plates and cutlery. We had to pick through our own food to get a clean plate without any crust underneath. What a shame! And we arrived at 11:45 am.

02/01/2026: Bistro in the center of Saumur. An unpretentious place, like a neighborhood bar, serving traditional home-style cooking. The duck parmentier and the croque monsieur were delicious. The portions are very generous. The manager was very friendly and did her best to communicate with us even though we don't speak French. The food took a little while to arrive, but that was perfectly reasonable considering she was in charge of the bar, the tables, the kitchen… Good value for money.

03/03/2026: Excellent bakery and pastry shop, very good products; for me, it's the best bread in Saumur, and the same goes for their pastries. The service is pleasant, and they always think of the little ones by giving them a small cream puff, which isn't always the case in bakeries. I highly recommend it.

02/04/2026: Good location Clean room (beware of the shower tile grout, which is starting to turn black) comfortable bed Reception staff were barely friendly, and working in a down jacket and sneakers seems inappropriate. Varied breakfast, but restocking is slow, and leaving yogurt and milk in a corner, not chilled, doesn't look very professional. Thanks to the kitchen staff who noticed. The sound and thermal insulation of the rooms from the outside needs to be addressed as soon as possible, as daylight shines through the entire door frame, and we can hear conversations outside. Convenient parking space right next to the rooms, perhaps a little too close, as the sidewalks are then impassable.

07/03/2026: Basic but sufficient for a one or two-night stay. I prefer the upstairs rooms to the downstairs ones with the icy tiles 😅 The reception wasn't very friendly...

31/12/2025: The managers are completely disrespectful, and I see from the reviews that it's the same even for those who actually ate there... Instead of simply apologizing for not updating the opening hours (10 pm) for December 30th by allowing reservations for 9 pm, they treat people like dirt, brushing them off in an incredibly rude manner. When you've just driven 600 km to see your mother and little sister, and you arrive at 8:30 pm, counting on this "restaurant"—which was the only traditional French restaurant in the city center "open until 10 pm"—for a family meal, the least you can expect is to be greeted with a smile and a "Sorry, we closed the kitchen at 9 pm tonight..." rather than a "Uh... I'll check with my husband" and a "Yes??" "Without even a single 'hello' from the gentleman, and to top it off, a raised eyebrow that clearly said, 'Why are you bothering me at 9 pm?' I mean, I don't know, what do you think people come to a restaurant for at 9 pm? A game of bowling? Luckily for our evening, we found it much more pleasant, certainly better, and of a higher standard than the property of these pathetic people."

30/12/2025: We arrived at 1 p.m., not even a hello, just a rude "We're full!" Please continue to ban this restaurant so they at least learn some manners and courtesy.

27/12/2025: I had a really excellent meal. It was truly delicious. The setting was pleasant and unpretentious. The owner, despite his somewhat gruff manner, is very friendly. I don't know many restaurants in Saumur that offer a complimentary glass of champagne at the end of the meal after you've paid the bill. I don't understand the overwhelmingly negative reviews. To dare to say it's not good, that it's frozen food, etc., etc... simply untrue. We arrived as a party of five and were warmly welcomed, as were all the other customers who arrived later. All five of us thoroughly enjoyed every course, and our plates were returned empty to the kitchen.
