08/06/2026: I've rented twice on this Rue Ferrandière, so this bakery would be convenient if the service had been up to scratch both times. You have to say hello first and... no response! Surreal. The first time I was hungry, but this time it's just not working. My advice: hire a debt collector or a bailiff, but stop running a business; it's not for you. Another tip: Aux Merveilles de Fred, not far from here. They're friendly, they do their job, and it's delicious!

18/05/2026: Bad experience: a €4.20 pastry sold without a price tag or any indication of what it was. The cream was completely dry, hard to cut, and the cake was bland and tasteless, clearly not fresh or frozen for too long. A lack of transparency and a disappointing product. P.S.: I initially thought it was meringue.

03/06/2026: When we want to treat ourselves to something sweet, this is *the* place for indulgence! The welcome is always pleasant and warm, the shop is small but the selection is very generous! The cakes are beautiful, all the chocolate products (for me, chocolate is life!), the custard tart (my partner's favorite), the macarons, the marshmallow bears, the chocolate treats at Easter, the Yule logs and mini Yule logs at Christmas... Thank you, Mr. Bouillet, please keep delighting us!

03/07/2025: We were a group of nine people who came for lunch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The meal was good, with a special mention for the dessert, the pistachio ice cream. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I recommend it.

31/05/2025: They treated us incredibly well, very attentive. They gave us a room to ourselves because we were a large group. Very happy, we would definitely come back.

19/04/2026: If there's one place in Old Lyon where time seems to have stood still, it's here. The decor is authentic, reminiscent of an old film. However, the quirky owner creates a lively atmosphere and serves drinks until the early hours. A superb spot for making great (and friendly) acquaintances over a drink. P.S.: I didn't eat there.

19/10/2025: Yesterday, Saturday, October 18th, I had my first pot of mussels in green curry at this restaurant. Excellent, I'll be back 🙏🏼. Unfortunately, the adventure has ended. Not only is it overpriced and average at best, but as we left the restaurant the greasy cook felt the urge to shout sexually explicit nonsense at the women in our group, while the rest of the male staff (all of them smoking) did absolutely nothing. STAY AWAY

13/05/2026: I am from Philadelphia, and I believe my life has been significantly shortened by my love of steak sandwiches in my youth, so I know of what I speak. I am of two minds on this restaurant: This was not a Philly cheesesteak - it resembled one, mostly - the ingredients at the most abstract form are the same. However, it is not the same. But, dear reader, do not take this as a negative - I am going to say something that will have me banished from Pudge's, Pat's, and Geno's: this is better. To someone who has never eaten a cheesesteak before, this will surpass what is served in Philadelphia if the two sandwiches are put on a table side by side and one has no other reference or history, and it will be obvious that the ingredients (meat, cheese, bread - a simple trio) are notably better in the sandwich from Philly Soul. To someone who grew up on these sandwiches, I would probably still gravitate towards the Amoroso roll and possibly even the highly controversial "cheese steak hoagie" that I can get from Pudge's, even with the better quality and taste of the sandwich in Lyon. They are not the same sandwich, but if you're looking for a great, fast, somewhat unhealthy lunch in Lyon this would be a top choice.

29/04/2026: Very good sandwiches to eat in or take away, generous portions and inexpensive. Excellent fries. The exterior isn't much to look at, but it's a great place!

02/05/2026: Excellent food, fast and efficient service. We had a reservation. There were five of us and we ordered: Lyonnaise salad, warm goat cheese salad, andouillette sausage, quenelle, beef bourguignon, hamburger, pistachio sausage, chocolate mousse, lemon meringue pie, praline tart, and chocolate banana tart. EVERYTHING was delicious.

17/01/2026: We arrived as a couple, and the waiter just looked at us without saying a word. Neither did we 😂 After ten seconds, I finally blurted out, "Can we eat?" He pointed to a table. We sat down, but the table was sticky. I gestured to him to ask if we could move, but no luck. So we took another table next door… also sticky. Anyway, I ordered. I chose a pig's stomach soup. Five minutes later, he brought me a large bowl of tripe soup, explaining that they were out of stomach. The soup was very good, piping hot, and very spicy—perfect for a 2°C (36°F) day. In short: terrible service, good food but ridiculously expensive, with a simple bowl of rice costing €4.

14/01/2026: Excellent experience at Chez Riz 🥢😊. The dishes are flavorful, well-balanced, and generous, featuring authentic Chinese recipes 🍜🔥. The Peking duck and stir-fried noodles are definitely worth trying 😋. Fast service, discreet and efficient staff 👍. Simple yet friendly atmosphere, perfect for a lunch or dinner without any unpleasant surprises. A reliable address in Lyon 👌
