The cassoulet was sour, the sausage had a strange smell, the prawns were overcooked and tasteless—in short, change your kitchen... a disgrace to French gastronomy... incomprehensible and unacceptable, because the point of going to a restaurant is not to get sick. 05/01/2026: We stumbled across a place on a whim to get some takeaway pizzas. To my surprise, the dough was fresh, kneaded to order, and loaded with toppings. Plus, the staff were incredibly friendly. Highly recommended!

07/12/2025: The first course arrived after 1.5 hours, the second never arrived, and hardly anyone on the terrace ordered the second course. The service was terrible; when we went to order the second courses, they automatically charged us for what we had already ordered without a word. A disaster; the first courses were fine.

06/12/2025: The restaurant wasn't bad, but you need to have plenty of time. We waited two hours to be served, even when we only asked for the children's menu. To their credit, it was very busy on St. Nicholas Day, and we were offered a complimentary aperitif while we waited.

30/01/2026: Having just bought a pizza this evening at 7pm, I took the last one left... a disaster! The dough was like chewed cardboard, impossible to swallow, straight to the bin!! I won't be going back anytime soon... (luckily there's a puff pastry shop nearby!!!)

09/12/2025: Family trip to the South of France. Perfect hotel, charming and very close to the Cité de Carcassonne, just steps away. Very friendly and attentive staff and free parking for the entire stay. Super spacious room for a stay with two children and a very complete breakfast. If I had to find a small fault, it would be that during peak breakfast times it was quite crowded, as all the breakfast food was on a single island and not spread out in different areas like in other hotels.

30/11/2025: I really took the time to write my review ✨ Mercure Review – Carcassonne vs Montauban ✨ After a disastrous stay at the Mercure Carcassonne La Cité, where I left the hotel at 9:20 pm, shocked, humiliated, and in tears by the remarks of a staff member (despite the friendly welcome from two people at checkout), I finally found genuine attentiveness and true professionalism at the Mercure Montauban. THANK YOU In Carcassonne, my emails to management and the chain resulted only in apologies and a partial refund of €40, even though I had been promised full compensation. A traumatic experience that left me deeply disappointed. In Montauban, on the other hand, I was welcomed with respect and care. This stay has restored my faith in the Mercure brand, and I want to thank the team for their attentiveness and professionalism, which truly allowed me to let go of my anger. ⚠️ Message to travelers: pay attention to who is hosting you, as the experience can go from bad to better.

22/02/2026: I'm surprised by the negative reviews I've seen! It's a very good restaurant. We went there to avoid eating at one of the neighboring terrace restaurants, which is full of smokers. We didn't have high expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised! The service was excellent, with a calm atmosphere typical of a country inn. The dishes were very good and very reasonably priced, especially considering the salmon and duck in the tourist area. I have food intolerances, and the chef was able to adapt the dishes accordingly. I have absolutely no complaints. Thank you for the meal and the warm welcome. One small drawback: it's a little cramped in some places, and the chairs creak a bit, but I suppose that adds to the charm of the place :) Go without hesitation!
