06/08/2026: Our experience at Champ des Vignes capped off a week-long holiday in the Cantal region, where we enjoyed a variety of culinary experiences. We stumbled upon it quite by chance, arriving late, and were absolutely blown away by what this restaurant has to offer: delicate cuisine with thoughtfully crafted flavors, combined with passionate service and precise, helpful advice. This last point is very rare and deserves to be highlighted! The icing on the cake: a well-chosen playlist accompanied this wonderful experience, all at an unbeatable price. Please don't change a thing: the people of Aurillac are so lucky!

06/08/2026: I discovered this place a while ago and had a very positive experience, which I repeated tonight and it was a real treat: excellent homemade dishes, impeccable and attentive service. I highly recommend it.

27/08/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes (the tripe shank and the steak tartare were particularly well prepared) as well as the desserts. The waiter was very friendly and took the time to chat with the customers. The setting is pleasant. One minor drawback: it's indicated on the entrance door that restaurant vouchers are accepted (a sign is affixed to the door), but at the till, when it comes time to pay, a small sign indicates that payment by restaurant voucher is temporarily unavailable. The waiter explained that the owner has thousands of euros in unpaid bills from the restaurant voucher companies. I've used my restaurant voucher card hundreds of times, and this is the first time I've heard of such a thing. They should at least remove the sign on the entrance door. Apart from that, everything was fine.

29/08/2026: A superb discovery on our way back from vacation. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The appetizer buffet and main courses were generous and clearly homemade. The cheese platter offered a wide variety of local cheeses, which is so rare these days! We also loved the desserts. An excellent place; we will definitely return. A big thank you from table 21 😉

I encourage you to make a detour to this hotel; you'll be pleasantly surprised. The chef in the restaurant prepares delicious dishes, and the staff are always smiling. Enjoy this charming place with its swimming pool; you won't be disappointed, whether you're traveling for business or pleasure.

05/08/2026: Run away!!! Frozen, dry burger bun, overcooked meat, look for the sauce, the cheese, and a pathetic salad as dry as everything else. And this is supposed to be the best-rated place in town! Unbelievable! Word of mouth won't work on our part!

23/08/2026: It was a real pleasure to be welcomed by Céline and Marcel, who were incredibly generous. We had a very enjoyable week. The place is charming, the rooms simple but very comfortable and clean. The highlight is the food: local, delicious, and very generous portions. The perfect bonus after a day of cycling is relaxing in the pool before enjoying the sunset on the terrace. Pure bliss! I highly recommend it.

09/06/2026: Renaud Darmanin is passionate, and it shows. The menu is more local than ever (you don't forget your roots that easily): the vegetables come from the garden, and the suppliers are all nearby. That evening, we had asparagus from a local producer and a divine bisque, as well as melt-in-your-mouth lamb in a reduced jus, not to mention a truffle-infused bone marrow that was simply divine. And on top of that, the service is impeccable. Head straight to Marcolès!

28/08/2026: This Friday the 28th, lunch with the owners of the B and P garage in Aurillac. I didn't know this fantastic place, taken over a year ago by a young person and their team... A Flawless experience. For a "working-class" restaurant and its price for a 3-course meal with drinks, it's a rare find... a large outdoor terrace, friendly service, a great menu and quality—it's flawless. You can taste the delicious, generous, "homemade" cooking... I was truly impressed. They're hard workers... go there, treat yourself, I'm a convert!

18/08/2026: Still as good as ever. The €30 Sunday menu is great, and the same goes for €23.80 during the week. A very warm welcome in a pleasant setting. The menu is small but offers a good range of choices, and the wines are very reasonably priced and decent. If you haven't been, make the trip; you'll be surprised. Top-notch for this type of restaurant, a sort of "brasserie."

28/06/2026: Just came to the restaurant for lunch. The starter, main course, and dessert of the day were very good. I enjoyed the quiet little terrace at the back of the restaurant. The service was very quick. I thank the waitresses for their kindness. Ramps for wheelchairs are available to access the terrace. If I return to the area, I will gladly return to this restaurant.

21/06/2026: As a group of Motorcyclists we stayed here for a week in June 2026. It was a perfect venue for us for touring the local area. The staff were amazing and evening meals were all superb. We were allocated two garages to lock the bikes safely away at night. The wi-fi is free and there is a great terrace and a good bar frequented by locals. We had fabulous time and will be back and would certainly recommend this hotel.

19/08/2026: The food is top-notch and innovative. The welcome is warm. You can tell they love what they do. With them, you feel like you're part of the family. It's a shame Eva and Cedric are moving on to other ventures; we'll miss them. I've only been to their restaurant twice, but you always feel so comfortable in their company. Best of luck in your new roles.
