20/07/2026: The welcome and service were adequate. The terrace was very pleasant. A major drawback was the pizzas, which tonight were more like flammekueche. For the price (€14 for a large one), it's a real letdown when you see what the competition offers. The crust could be thicker and the toppings more generous. Best of luck for the future; I'll definitely be back to try it again!

29/12/2025: Hello, I'm finally taking the time to write, but please note that I was there at the end of August. I wanted to climb the Puy Mary, being a big fan of the Tour de France. On that sweltering day at the summit, I decided to ask for water at this restaurant, which was refused! I hope that if a tax inspector happens to see this, they'll read my comment because it's completely illegal, dangerous, and inhumane. Furthermore, the staff is appalling, odious, definitely avoid this place. While I was there, all I got was reprimands and yelling. They certainly take advantage of their tenants (the only positive thing about this restaurant) because I had the chance to talk to other customers who also found the service disgusting.

11/06/2026: We discovered a gem in Vitrac, a haven of tranquility, with unique and very charming accommodations. The owner is a remarkable and attentive person. We had to leave due to health reasons, but we promised ourselves we'd return to finish our trip through this magnificent region of Cantal. In short, I won't tell you everything; you'll have to discover this place for yourselves, which we highly recommend.

18/08/2026: Extremely disappointed! Where are the 4 stars? 125 euros a night, and what a night it was!!! The reception, both on the phone and in person, was extremely unpleasant. We were practically hung up on because there wasn't time to answer. When we arrived at the building, we thought we were in front of a nursing home. Our suspicions were confirmed upon entering! Hallway, decorative walls... everything was there! We had booked an apartment with a balcony, but in the end, we only had windows overlooking the city's garbage containers and the road. We were woken up with a bang at 8:30 am because people were loading metal equipment into a metal trailer, all while shouting. And yes, there's a utility room in addition to the garbage!! At 10:32 am, the doorbell rang, and we were told to leave—it was time to go!! The guy was waiting by the door, ready to pull out his vacuum cleaner. We finished packing our bags and were out in the hallway. A very, very bad experience and one thing is for sure, we who come to Chaudes-Aigues very often will not return to this establishment.

18/08/2026: We had a very pleasant stay at the Coin d'Aubrac hotel, restaurant, and spa. The welcome was friendly. The studio was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds. The relaxation area was very pleasant, clean, and tastefully decorated. The restaurant and wine cellar were excellent. The meal was truly delicious and offered excellent value for money. Thank you for this wonderful stay. We will gladly return.

26/03/2026: Beware of cats! Several cats roam the ground floor where the bar and dining area are located. From a hygiene perspective – especially for allergy sufferers – this is problematic. I didn't enjoy my stay at Le Saint Mary. While it was spruced up with plenty of decorations, the details were old and not very clean.

18/05/2026: As a truck driver, I've rarely eaten in such a mediocre restaurant. The atmosphere in the dining room (bad smell) and the very poor quality of the 100% frozen food were both appalling. I absolutely do not recommend it. 78 euros for 3 people? I don't think it's worth it considering the quality.

30/06/2026: I don't usually give bad reviews (generally, I prefer to say nothing because the customer might also be in a bad mood), but this time... I'm not just in a bad mood, this place reeks of a rip-off! We were greeted by a kindly old man at first, but he made comments if we didn't eat like a horse (I'm all for a sense of humor, because everyone has different appetites, but when someone makes that comment with every single dish they serve, it's not great). The meal consisted of canned food bought from the corner store (the green beans tasted awful, like they came from a can, and for dessert he offered me store-bought yogurt; I was completely stunned). I didn't touch the cheese, because not only did it seem dried out from being in the fridge (which happens when you leave cheese in the fridge for 1 to 2 weeks), but it was also oozing because it had overheated (when you leave cheese at room temperature for more than 30 minutes). And the dishes... you have to wonder if they even wash the glasses; there were traces of old deposits. I've been to workers' restaurants in the area before, but this is the first one I've seen like this! So, no, I didn't enjoy the experience at all, and I won't be going back to this place. Luckily, since I was on assignment, my meal was reimbursed by my employer, because I really feel like I've been ripped off.

14/07/2026: We had lunch as a party of five. The welcome was good 👍 The owner came to take our order and was there... He wasn't welcoming, rather unpleasant. His explanations were brief. We were given the menu, we had chosen some, but not everything was available. No starters, only main courses. The meal was good and plentiful. The bill was a bit high! The owner should let his waiters and waitresses (who are excellent!) take care of the customers.

16/10/2025: I've known La Source du Mont since the mid-1990s. It was always a great pleasure to spend time at this establishment. Madame Fournier ran the business with a masterful hand; nothing was left to chance, and everything was perfect. Among other things, she was very attentive to the food. Quality products were well prepared by a top-notch chef. The three chimneys and three cocottes awarded by Logis de France were well-deserved. The business was recently taken over; I went for dinner there in mid-October; it was a disaster. The welcome, the food, the service, and the customers—everything has fallen to the lowest level. I strongly advise against it...
